Chap 29. Tommy's Close Call with Death

They stayed like that for a little bit before they heard Tommy making some weird sounds.

Thank the lords that Tommy was alive but curse the lords for the inhumane sounds coming from his mouth.

They were a mix between gurgling and groaning but also included some burping in there, and now you have the sound Tommy was making.

"Who the hell is making that disgusting sound?" Astro questioned with a disgusted expression on his face, Theo also had a nasty expression on him but replied, "Tommy.."

Astro's mouth dropped, in his 17 years of seeing this man drink and pass out, he had never heard him make such a revolting sound.

"Ugh, take me to him please.." He pleaded as he reached out towards Theo's arm. Theo wasn't ready for the sudden skin contact and slightly jumped before calming himself, "Ok" He slowly got up from the bed with Astro holding onto him.

They didn't have to go far before they made it to Tommy's practically dead body, Theo knelt down with Astro beside him.

"His just here, his on his back." He commented, Astro's body froze as he recalled the AI reading of drunk deaths and how to prevent them if a friend falls unconscious.

"Quickly! Guide my hands to him!" He hurried, Theo immediately pulled his hands towards Tommy's body.

One of his hands were on Tommy's stomach and the other was on his arm, he quickly made his way up to his face where he opened his mouth.

He could feel slight convulses in his body and quickly turned him on his side, he then told Theo some instructions.

"Theo, I need you to check inside Tommy's mouth, if his tongue looks like its going down his throat you need to pull it out" Theo got infront of Tommy's face and looked into his mouth, just as Astro had guessed, Tommy was currently swallowing his own tongue.

"What about my hands?" He questioned since putting his hands in Tommy's mouth sounds unsanitary.

"Quickly go to the kitchen and find gloves! They might be under the sink!" He commented as he held Tommy's head back.

Theo got up as quickly as possible and rushed to the kitchen which was on the other side of the bed. He checked under the sink where Astro said and somehow found the plastic gloves he was talking about.

"Quickly Theo!" Astro called out, Theo grabbed the gloves and rushed back to them, he knelt down and put the gloves on before reaching into Tommy's mouth.

He pinched Tommy's tongue and pulled it slightly out, Astro proceeded with his instructions, "Get a pillow, we need to place it under his head." Theo let go of Tommy's tongue when he wasn't swallowing it anymore and ran to the bed where he grabbed a pillow and ran back.

He placed it under Tommy's head and Astro kept his mouth open, Astro loosened Tommy's clothing around his neck for better breathing.

"Ok, his currently having a seizure so we need to make sure that he doesn't swallow his tongue, or anything like that. I'll keep listening to his breathing rate and you time the seizure" Astro pulled out his AI box and gave it to Theo after pressing a button.

He then turned his attention to Tommy's breathing, he needed to make sure he kept breathing or else an ambulance would need to be called.

"Hello Theo, How can I help you today?" Roberts voice ran out in the silent apartment, this time Theo answered to Robert though. "Hello Robert, can you start a stopwatch and stop it when we tell you?" Theo asked.

Since Theo's voice had never been put into the box, Robert was immediately alerted, "Is Astro alright? Who are you?" He questioned.

"ROBERT START A STOPWATCH!" Astro yelled out, to which Robert immediately started a stopwatch.

Astro had been silently listening to conversation as he concentrated on Tommy's breathing, luckily it was becoming less blocked and his convulses were slowly clearing up, and had heard Robert's question so he decided to just answer.

"Theo, go check on Callum to make sure he is alright", Theo followed his orders and checked on Callum.

Luckily, he was breathing perfectly fine and was just in deep sleep.

"His alright, his not shaking, I'm guessing his just sleeping now." He relayed his information back to Astro who nodded his head.

"Ok, since his ok just go get a cup of water and an empty glass." Theo nodded and went back to the kitchen, this time Astro didn't tell him where the glasses were so he had to check every draw.

Thank the lords he found the cabinet on his 3rd try, he grabbed a glass and put it on the island before filling up the other glass with water from the fridge.

And just like that, he walked back to Astro and placed the glasses beside Tommy.

As the time ticked, Tommy's body completely stopped convulsing and his breathing evened out, now, it just seemed like he was sleeping.

Astro still kept him on his side though, he wasn't about to take chances on someone's life!

Tommy gave out a slow groan, his throat was parched and his body was sore. All he remembered was falling asleep after downing 7 bottles of beer in one go!

He slowly opened his eyes to find Theo right infront of him with 2 glasses. As he sat upright he saw Astro on his other side with a concerned look on his face.

"Water, drink." Astro ordered, Tommy nodded and grabbed the glass Theo was offering him. He drunk it slowly as it glided down his throat, it felt like paradise.

"Next time you drink, I will murder you." Astro commented as he got up, Theo gave him the other glass and he looked at it in confusion.

And then, a disgusting bile taste came back up from his throat, he immediately spat it out into the glass and gagged.

"Yes.." Was all he could say as his focus went out of reality, he was completely confused on the whole situation and could only try to think.

Yet, everytime he tried an immense headache kept forming, it was like someone was continuously punching him the head when he thought about something he wasn't meant to.

"Get up, come over to the bed." Astro told him as Theo reached out to him, Astro grabbed his arm and they walked back to the bed.

Tommy nodded and slowly got up, he was about to walk towards them but Astro stopped him, "Theo, can you go help him walk, I trust that his body won't particularly work the best right now."

"Sure.." Theo agreed and went back to the woobly Tommy, Tommy wrapped his arm around Theo's neck and they walked slowly, Theo kept walking with him without minding the slow pace.

After a few minutes, they made it back to the bed.

"Tommy, you had a seizure from alcohol overdose." Astro started, he didn't care about beating around the bush and went straight out to the point.

Tommy immediately stopped his actions, his body froze, "Does that mean.. I could've died?.." He questioned with his eyes wide.

"Yes, you were swallowing your own tongue, you would've choked and died." Astro said.

And just like that, Tommy vowed deep inside his heart to never touch alcohol ever again.
