Hydromancy Gone Wrong

*For simplicity, the story will start at the second phase of the Unreconciled Stars event as that is when Mona joins*

*Some background info:

Meteorites suddenly fell upon parts of Mondstadt. Anyone who touched these rocks instantly fell into a deep sleep and could not be woken up. As such, the Adventurer's Guild dispatched its members to counter this unforeseen problem, contacting Lumine in the process. Lumine, joined by the Prinzessin der Verurteilung and her retinue aka Fischl and Oz, travels to multiple different areas across Mondstadt to figure out the situation and lend a helping hand. After realizing that visions could detect meteorite shards, signifying that the shards held elemental energy, Lumine, Paimon, Fischl, and Oz spent time collecting and removing pieces of meteorite. Fischl's instinct alluded to the idea that all the sleepers dreamed of some sort of tribulation with the most common one being scaling a mountain. She also determines that the meteorite casted a curse upon everyone who had touched it. As such, the four return to Katheryne to seek help for someone who can lift said 'curse'.*

"Katheryne, the hour of destiny is upon you! I have invoked the sacred covenant between us, and now you must respond to the call."

"Let me see... Are you saying you require an assistant?"

"Whoa, she got it in one! Katheryne must be super smart!"

Ignoring Paimon's argument, Lumine spoke.

"Do you happen to know of anyone with expertise in curses or dark magic?"

"Unfortunately not. Although, given the circumstances of the situation I do know of an astrologist. As it happens, the traveling astrologist Mona is currently in Mondstadt. Do you know her?"

"Don't think so."

"Paimon doesn't either!"

"Then please wait here for a moment. I will see if she's available."

"We get to meet a real-life astrologist! Paimon's so excited!"

"One who can call upon thy stars to seek thy truth. Truly, a worthy existence to join my retainers."

"Of course, mein Frauelin. One who can divine should surely be of help to us."

A few seconds later, Katheryne returned with someone. Dressed in blue, flowy garb and dotted with symbols of stars and other galactic bodies, it was clear to everyone that this woman was an astrologist. And a very good one.

"Katheryne, you seem frantic. What's the matter?

"Mona, I'd like to introduce you to some adventurers from the Guild. They've run into some problems and were hoping that you, with your astrological abilities, may be able to resolve them."

"Were they now? Good call. I'm pleasantly surprised that they've heard of the astrologist of the century! So, you must be the one who needed my help?"

"Hello, nice to meet you, Mona. And yes, we are the ones who requested your help. I'm Lumine."

"And I'm Paimon!"

"Come on then, give me the lowdown. I may be willing to offer my skills — it all depends on the situation. Astrology is an ancient and mysterious art. If your problem is a banal one, you can count me out, as I have better things to do."

"So here's what's happened…"

(Paimon fills Mona in on what has happened...)

"So, a meteor shower brings an unprecedented crisis. This is not what I was expecting."

"I'm more interested in how you didn't know this was happening when you were in Mondstadt."

"Excuse me. Do you want my help or not? I was spending my expensive time doing astrology."

"The darkness consumes every corner of the land... And in fading twilight, only the prinzessin and her retinue still stand…", Fischl muttered, clearly floating around in her own thoughts.

"Ms. Mona, your means are most crucial to our ends."

"Huh? Are you all together, then? Well then, nice to meet you as well. You are….?"

"I am Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort, Prinzessin der Verurteilung, and I hereby extend to you the great honor of joining my retinue."

"Prinzessin der Verurteilung"? I'm sorry, which nation are you a princess of?"

"I hail from a distant and long-lost land known as the Immernachtreich…"

"...The in-my-what reich?"

"Alas, precious few mere mortals know of the Immernachtreich."

"Mere mortal!? Do you have any idea who you're talking to? I am a highly accomplished astrologist, thank you very much! Just give me one second with scry glass, then we'll see where exactly this homeland of yours features in your personal history!"

"Ms. Mona! I humbly beseech you to refrain from probing the question of mein Fräulein's homeland... revisiting the tragic tale of the world's demise always causes her much anguish… Surely a wise mage such as yourself can sympathize with a princess' grief for her lost kingdom?"

"Uh…no, but that's…"

"Sorry to interrupt, but work is our priority right now. I'll fill you in on that later."

"Ahem! ...Yes, you're quite right. So. The goal here is to get all the sleepers to wake up. Am I right?"

"Yep."

"Understood. Alright then, don't worry! I will lend you a hand. First things first, though, we need to get out of the city. There's too much magical disturbance here... Let's head somewhere where the ley line flow is a little smoother."

After a bit of travel and searching, Mona finally found a place that suited her needs.

"Wide open space... clear sky...This will do nicely. I will now begin the process of hydromancy. Stay back, and do not impede my vision."

As the four moved back a little, Mona brought her hands up. Her vision suddenly flared up and symbols appeared in front of her. Moving her hands in a purposeful motion, evidence of practice, Mona began to transform the symbols before her. Before long, the symbols created a light blue circle that glowed with power.

"What the-?"

Suddenly, the circle in front of her flared brightly before splitting into two.

"Damn it! Something in the sky grabbed my vision and shifted it away from the meteorite! Given the rate by which the energy is increasing, it's going to blow! Ugh….I can't contain it! Quick, take cover!"

Suddenly, the circle let out a burst of energy, throwing everyone back. As Lumine watched, the circle split itself into two identical copies before placing itself onto the ground. The blue circle suddenly gave off a gold color and two massive gold rectangles decorated with a single massive symbol appeared.

"What's that??!"

"I think it's a summoning. Whatever pulled my vision away is also forcing a summoning! Get prepared everyone. We don't know if whatever comes out is friendly or not."

"Prepare thyselves! Foul beasts or enlightened acquaintances, it matters not! Oz!"

"Here, mein Frauelin!"

In a heartbeat, Fischl, Lumine, and Mona pulled out their weapons. As the three prepared themselves, Fischl's and Mona's visions as well as Lumine's clothes began to glow of their respective elements.

The two rectangles then disappeared in a flash of blinding light, revealing two figures standing where the circles were.

"Hmm. A summoning? That's odd."

"What the f*ck? Hey ice queen b*tch, how the h*ll did we get summoned somewhere else? We were already f*cking summoned in Chaldea!"

"Do I look like I would know? Keep it down on the cursing. Anyway, it seems there are some locals here, so why don't we ask them?"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever."

As the two bickered, Lumine felt a sort of strange energy coming from them, similar to the other two who had come to Teyvat a while back. Gathering her courage, she put away her sword and put her hand on her chest before calling out.

"Greetings, travelers from somewhere else. I'm guessing you two are from Chaldea?"

"Oho, this little b*tch seems to be pretty knowledgeable about us. I wonder why…"

"Don't be so stupid, Avenger. This is probably the world Emiya and Cu landed in a while back."

"Ah, we know of them! The red all-rounder and blue polearm user!"

"...Krgh, I hate it when you're right, Maid alter."

"Hmph. Anyway, it seems we interrupted something. Mind filling us-"

"Who are these otherwordly creatures that dare impede upon our most sacred destiny?"

"What the h*ll's up with her? She sane?"

"I would appreciate it if you would be a little nicer towards mein Fraulein."

"A talking bird. Seems similar to that mascot Orion."

"Eh. I'll just burn both of them right n-"

"Let's do introductions first! I'm Lumine. This is Paimon. The star-covered woman over there is Mona and the purple-colored girl is Fischl. The bird is Oz. While those three never met them, both Paimon and I spent some time with Cu and Emiya."

"Do I look like I care?"

"Staker, be nice. I am the summer version of the alter version of the King of Britain, Artoria. Full name Artoria Pendragon Rider Alter. Rider class. Calling me Maid or Maid Alter should suffice."

"Huh. Just call her ice queen or ice b*tch and that'd be good enough. I'm Jeanne D'Arc Alter. Avenger class. Just stick with Jalter."

"On a different note, I believe the knight Jean is in this world correct?"

"Yes...wait a minute, you're one of the versions of that person that Jean talked about! Paimon remembers that!"

"So, you've heard of me then. And the other 10 as well."

"There truly exists 10 different versions of you in that world?"

"Mein Fraulein!"

"Ah, I mean-truly in thy plain of exsistence holds an astounding 10 divergent beings where all of thine selves exist not as one but as many? How fascinating of a reality!"

"It seems like Fischl was so shocked she forgot how to speak!"

"Shh Paimon, be a little nicer!"

"So, fill in now?"

"Sure."(Mona)

(Another bout of filling in.)

"So we interrupted your...hydromancy focused on reading the meteorite. I apologize."

"Well, then what're you waiting for? Go do it again."

"That..."

"Oh, thinking another summoning's gonna happen? Well, it f*cking won't with us here. Think of it as good luck charms. Because we already exist, there's no way you'll get another one."

"Ah, fine. It wasn't like I was worried or anything. Alright everyone, step back. I'll perform it again."

After Mona did it again with success....

"O, astral emissary, have thine eyes now discerned the secrets of the stars?"

"How strange... I've never seen this before. The divination shows that these meteorites came from someone's constellation."

"Constellation? As in stars? You're telling me that stars just so happened to turn into f*cking meteorites and then decided to be a b*tch and crash all over the place?"

"Yes. Now shut up. Your profanities are too much."

"You-!"

"Jalter. Calm down."

"Aaaanyway~... Constellation? But they don't have anything to do with real astrology... Do they?"

"That's what most people tend to think. But I've studied astrology for a very long time, and I know a few things about them that you might not. The stars that make up a constellation — the Stella Fortuna — are genuine celestial bodies in the depths of space. They are not simply notional. The strange thing is that they turned into meteors all of a sudden, and fell from the sky... Why this happened I am not yet sure. I'lll need some time."

"A curse! A wretched curse, I say!"

"Oh shut up! I'll curse you myself!"

"Jalter! What did I say?"

"Oh I'll fight you now as well!"

"Try me!"

"Otherworldly existences! Please stop fighting. We must focus on the task at hand!"

"Yeah! Oz is right!"

Ignoring the two Servants, Fischl continued

"I, too, have journeyed to the stars, gazed beyond the veil of darkness, and glimpsed a shed of the truth... There, I saw a world cursed by human malice...Only one who died the most agonizing of deaths could leave behind such a vengeful spirit...We must interrogate the population! Find the doer of this diabolical deed! The one who created this sinister specter is the true killer!"

"Sorry, I'm not quite following you... What curse? And what killer?"

"Ah... don't take every word she says too literally..."

"Fischl is full of, uh... enthusiasm."

"Oh... Oh, I understand!"

"Thou dost? Marvelous! The astral emissary understands at last!"

"Yeah, full of enthusiasm called imagination at work."

"Hey!"(Paimon)

"What? Imagination alone cannot protect anyone let alone a kingdom."

"Ahem. Anyway, mutual understanding is the crucial first step towards teamwork."

'With my astrolabe, I have ascertained the trajectory of fate. Next, I'll calculate the locations of the fallen meteorites for you. I need to look into the constellation issue in more detail. In the meantime, let me know ASAP if you find anything else out."

"Thanks Mona!"

"Don't worry about it. As far as the astrological aspect goes, this will be a piece of cake. In the meantime, I've discovered some larger fragments around the area. Here, I'll mark them on the map."

"What about you two then?"

"Well, we have nothing better to do at the moment so we'll travel with you."

"Then let's split up! Hit the areas quicker!"

"Good idea Paimon. So, who's gonna be with who?"

"I suggest myself with Fischl and Oz and Jalter with Lumine and Paimon."

"Thy aptitude for deciding which path thou shalt walk has been enlightened! I hearby declare my undying will!"

"Mein Fraulein means that she supports your idea, Maid."

"We support it too."

"Hahhhhh I could care less. As long as I ain't stuck with that wordy b*tch and her ugly bird, I'm fine."

"Don't take whatever she says to heart. She just has a sharp tongue."

"Wanna say that again to my face, ice b*tch?"

"Alrightalrightalright, you guys should get a move on now. I need to focus okay?"

"Mona is correct. Let us head out."

"Thou can'st see that blazing sphere of everlasting hope arriving! Come, my new retinue member, let us depart for the ends of the world!"

"Alright, see you guys at the end of the day then. C'mon, Jalter, let's go."

"Heh. Sure."
