Her wish

Elena was an other worlder. Earth was just another foreign place to her yet she had come to earth find a person important to her. She had a strong hunch about it and she believes that Devin is the one.

"Yes?" Devin asked.

Elena stood with a serious expression on her face. There is something she needed… it was absolutely important for her to have it.

And that is why she wanted to take things at her own pace and didn't want to back down no matter what. But alas she was too nervous! Her fidgeting never seemed to cease and she could find no words to talk. in the end, Devin had to take the initiative.

*Badump*

Her heart was thumping hard

'Yes he is the one,' she thought. 'There is no doubt about it. My heart has led me to him.'

"What is your name?" She asked, sounding somewhat polite and stupid at the same time.

Her soft feminine voice resounded in Devin's ears for the very first time. Little did Devin know that he would be hearing this voice for quite a while.

Devin scratched his head with question marks on his face. Did someone come to his home without even knowing about him?

He sighed giving up.

"Devin"

With that reply, Elena's face blossomed into a fitting smile. She was able to lead the conversation as she wanted to.

'Now I wish everything else too goes without a pinch.'

"Devin, can I come in?" I have something important to talk about," Elena cusped her hands in front of her chest.

But it was not taken in a good light.

Devin could only frown. Elena was already being overly informal with him and now she wanted to come inside his apartment?

*Slam*

He slammed the door on her face without thinking anything. Such people should always be avoided.

"Think I am some fool? Trying to trick me, what a joke."

He didn't move away before he mumbled a few more curses under his breath.

*Tring* *tring*

She rang the doorbell again but there was no response from Devin. She was successful in creating a really bad first impression of her. But even so, the doorbell never ceased to stop.

*Knock* *Knock*

'Is the doorbell not working?' Ellena though totally ignoring the fact that Devin slammed shut the door on her face.

She began knocking instead.

*Knock* *knock*

Devin ignored as he closed his ears with a pillow. Those annoying knocking noises had somehow made him forget that he should be calling the police at the moment.

*Knock* *knock*

An hour passed. Two hours passed. The knocking sound never ceased to exist.

"Ugh, Dammit!" Devin screamed.

At this point, it was clear that she wasn't here for an advertisement anymore. This girl either had some ulterior motives or she needs some kind of help from him.

Devin decided to chase her off for good! He stormed towards the door his veins building out in anger.

Unluckily for her, Elena was greeted by his angry face as he flared his nostrils.

But before he could even utter a word…

"Please let me inside. I mean no offence," Elena joined her hands together as she begged Devin.

[Negotiation taking effect...]

A splitting pain shot through Devin's brain as Elena looked at him with puppy eyes. Elena's dimensional skill was taking effect. Little by little all the events that had happened till now became hazy in his memory. And as a cause and effect his anger too disappeared as he could no longer remember why he was angry.

"What do you…"

He was about to ask her what she wanted but stopped midway as his eyes fell on her. She had tears rolling down her face.

'Why is she pushing herself so hard? What was so important for her?' Such questions came to Devin's mind.

Did he just make a girl cry? He couldn't help but scratch his neck. He was never a jerk, then how did things end up like this? Indeed he never cared for girls who were demanding but he never lashed at them either. All he did was ignore them.

"What do you want?" He asked again, this time completing his sentence.

"Please don't get angry but I can't talk about it outside." Her voice was as sweet as ever although her sobbing made it splutter.

Devin rolled his eyes as he sighed.

"Come in," He said as he made space for the girl to walk in. She walked in checking out every nook and cranny of the apartment as if she had not seen youngsters living place before. There was only a small stove and cylinder instead of a kitched. A bed and a small book rack at the corner and Dein's clothes thrown here and there giving the room a messy appearance.

Devin closed the door behind him.

*Thud*

"Now speak, no one's here. What is it? Is it goons? Or money? Or something else?" He asked as he crossed his arms around his chest. He wasn't planning to tolerate Elena for much longer. The negotiation skill might have taken effect but Devin was still Devin.

"It is none. All I need is you…" She said, hiding her face in embarrassment as she looked down. There was a tinge of reddening on her face.

Devin could only cock his head to the side as he couldn't understand what she meant at all. Was that a love confession? It would be a joke to him if a stalker comes to confess.

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is… I wish to…" She said something after 'I wish to' but it was barely audible.

"Pardon, What do you wish for? I couldn't get you."
