House-Mates Lovers short story
Living alone could be boring but never in my life I ever thought my life could be exciting as it is now and it's all because of four guys that at first where strangers but now they are not my friends but they are of my brothers who share amazing bond among each other but before this bond formed there was a chaos, okay let me take you all to the beginning where everything started.
At first when I moved to this house it was me, Grant and Grant the three of us got along well from the start I was only a girl among two guys who grow to be very protective towards me which is why I'm still single even now because of their ridicules quiz questions anyway things were fine until on morning I received this Email from the house owner our landlord.
Email alert (Message) I opened my mail
"Hey Naomi I know you, Mat and Grant have leaved together for a long time but now I have emergence regarding some money so can you please help me find two more tenants and please inform the guys for me?"
I scoffed "Oh boy two new tenants" I whispered to myself
Email reply (message)
"Okay I'll inform them and regarding new tenants I'll get on it as soon as possible and get back to you" I sent the massage then closed my laptop.
"Naomi come on what are you doing I'm going to be late" Grant yelled from downstairs
I stood up "I'm coming" I replied then took my bag pack I went out and went downstairs where I found Grant and Mat drinking coffee "Hey guys I have something important to inform you".
Grant putted his cup down on the sink "Naomi not now I'm in the hurry, are you coming?"
"No you go on I'll go on my own" I replied
Mat held my shoulders "We will talk in the evening okay" I knotted my head then Grant and Mat left together
I scoffed "I have to find two new tenants on the other hand this two don't want to listen what a fix I am in" Then I took out the cereals from the cabinet then putted back in the cabinet "I don't even have appetite anymore" I grabbed my phone and walked outside and got on my vesper and rode off when I got at my studio as it's not that far from the house I walked in and switched on my computer "Okay let's see what can be done with the ad" I created the ad and posted it online I hesitated and took my phone and called Grant.
"Hey Naomi" Grant answered
"Hey Grant I have to…"
"Ah Naomi can I call you in the bit busy with a client I'll call you when I'm done okay"
I breathed heavily "Okay will talk later then"
"Okay bye" Then Grant ended the call.
(Mat's office)
Mat is in his office typing on his computer the office phone beeped Mat pressed the button "Yes Shay".
"Sir Mr Grant is on line two"
"Okay pass him through"
"Yes sir" Shay ended the call and Mat's phone beeped again
Mat took the phone "Hey what's up?"
"You got a minute to talk?" Grant asked
Mat continued with his typing "Yeah what's going on"
"Do you have any idea why Omi want to talk to us?"
Mat leaned back on his chair "No but you know how Naomi is it's probably about someone she likes I'm sure it's not that important"
"Yeah you probably right alright let me get back to work will talk later" Grant said
"Yeah sure" Mate replied then hanged up the phone the day went on where all of us were busy with our work.
While I met with one of my client "Yeah so I think I got everything that I'm gonna need if there is something else left out I'll get in touch with you"
"Great thank you so much" The client said
"It's my pleasure" I whispered and my client walked away.
In the evening Grant and Mat came home all tired they sat on the couch well more of fell on the couch and breathed out heavily.
"Damn I'm dead tired" Mat whispered
Grant leaned back "Man what a day I had I could use a long hot shower"
I went to them holding a glass of juice "You two long day?"
"You have no idea" Mat said
I putted the my juice down "Okay before you guys head upstairs I need to tell you a message it's from our landlord"
Grant stood up taking his blazer "Omi I'm too tired so what so whatever it is I'm fine with it"
"Yeah me too" Mat whispered both of them walked away
I looked at them "Guys just hear me out once I won't take long I really need to inform about something important"
"its fine confirm anything she wants" Grant said climbing the stairs followed by Mat.
I breathed out heavily then I got a message alert on my laptop I opened my mail
"Good evening my name is Don North I wanted to enquire about the ad you posted online are there rooms still available?"
"Yes"
"Great so there is someone else who is looking for the room the other room is also available?"
"Yes two furnished rooms are available when do you guys want to move in?"
"How about tomorrow afternoon is it okay?"
I bite my thumb nail "Sounds perfect see you tomorrow"
"Okay thank you"
I wrote an Email to the landlord "Mrs Diaz I found the tenants they said they will move in tomorrow".
I leaned back the couch "Tomorrow will be very interesting" I took my juice and laptop then went upstairs "I'm patiently waiting for tomorrow".
(The following day)
In the afternoon I kept pacing around the house looking at the time "Now it's the matter of time let's see who shows up first the new tenants or the old once" As I was about to walk to the kitchen I heard cars braking outside and honking at the gate.
"Hey are you an idiot or what?" Grant shouted
I raised my eyebrows while pouting "Old and New at the same time this should be fun"
Grant got out of his car and paced to Don's car Grant knocked on the window "Hey who the hell are you?" He knocked again "Open this damn window better yet step outside don't you know how to…?" Don rolled down the window and Grant stared at him "Drive".
I got there and saw both of them staring at each other I smiled a bit and cleared my throat both of them looked at me "All good?" I said smiling
Grant looked back at the car owner and looked at me again "No all is not good this nut case almost caused us accident"
Don who is shocked whispered "Nut case" to himself then opened the door that hit Grant "Move" he step out of the car and stood in front of Grant "Nut case is you're…"
I looked at Don being shocked "Although I'm a lesbian but this two guys are handsome I'm not gonna lie" I said in mind I got in between them "Guys calm down you are in the street let's get inside and talk" Grand and the new tenant looked at each other and looked at me Grant went to his car and drove in followed by other car I walked in and closed the gates.
Grant parked his car and got out "Naomi do you…?"
"Yes calm down that's Don his the new tenant" I whispered
Grant stared at me then at Don "Tenant why didn't you say anything?"
"Ah well I tried since yesterday remember me saying I need to inform you about something important?"
Grant remembered
I putted the my juice down "Okay before you guys head upstairs I need to tell you a message it's from our landlord"
Grant stood up taking his blazer "Omi I'm too tired so what so whatever it is I'm fine with it"
"Yeah me too" Mat whispered both of them walked away
I looked at them "Guys just hear me out once I won't take long I really need to inform about something important"
"Its fine, confirm anything she wants" Grant said climbing the stairs followed by Mat. He looked at me then at Don.
Mat and Guard also came almost hitting each other at the gate me, Don and Grant looked at them Grant looked at me "Don't tell me"
I smiled a bit "There is another one" Then we went to them.
"Hey are you an idiot or what?" Mat shouted and got out the car he paced to Guard's car and knocked on the window "Hey what a hell man" He knocked on Guard's window again "Open this window".
"Mat relax" I whispered as we got at the gate
Mat looked back at me "Relax this idiot almost ran me over…hey are you" Mat quickly looked back at Guard's window and found it opened Guard turned to him and both stared at each other "Blind?" Mat asked
I looked at them and smiled the cleared my throat Mat looked back me; Don and Grant "calm down and relax please Mat"
"Calm down, these four eyes almost…"
"Four eyes" Guard pushed Mat through the window and opened the door he got out of the car and stood in front Mat looking angry "Call me four eyes again and see what happens" Both Guard and Mat formed fists.
"Mat you" Grant whispered
Don pulled Guard back "What are you doing?" He asked
"Brother" Mat and Guard said at the same time and looked at each other.
Don and Grant stared at each other being surprised "Brother" Both saying at the same time while I kept looking back and forth at them.
"Wait a minute Don and Guard you two are brothers?" I asked
Don and Guard looked at each other "Yes" They both replied
"I'm sorry I didn't mention it last night" Don said
"Okay" I got in between the brothers "Can we please go inside and talk about this we are in the street god sake people are staring at us" They all looked around and knotted their heads Mat and Guard got in their cars and Guard drove in first followed by Mat while Don, Grant and I went inside the house in a short while Mat and Guard came in I looked at them "First of all Don and Guard I want apologies for what happened earlier".
"Don't worry about it Naomi the once who are wrong should apologies" Don said sitting down
Grant looked down at Don "You except me to apologies to you?" He asked
Don looked over his shoulder as Grant was standing behind him "Apology from you I may as well dream about flying pigs" Don stood up taking his phone out of his pocket he looked at me "Naomi thank you for the place but I don't think my brother and I would be comfortable here after what happened" he looked at his brother "Guard let me make some calls to try to find us a place" Grant looked at him.
"Okay brother" Guard whispered
I went to Don "Don I understand you are angry and frustrated but I'm serious you guys can stay here as per to our agreement for now I just think we all should calm down" I sighed Guard to say something as I didn't want them to leave Guard knotted.
"Naomi I just don't think…" Don said
"Brother" Guard said while standing up he went to his brother and held his shoulders "Please reconsider us staying here hmm… I know everything started from the wrong foot but please try to think it over?"
Don looked at him "Fine but if by morning my mind hasn't changed we are leaving and that is…"
"My words" Guard finished his brother's sentence and both of them smiled to each other Guard looked at me "Will stay"
I knotted while smiling realizing how close Don and Guard are with each other "Great now that's settled let me show you guys your rooms this way" I said while Don knotted I gestured them to the stairs I looked at Grant and Mat "You two I'll be right back" I walked away and leading Don and Guard upstairs.
Guard stopped "Ah Naomi you and brother go on I'll just come"
I looked back "Oh okay" I whispered
Don held his brother shoulder "Where are you going?"
"Relax Don I'll just bring our bags give me your keys" Don handed his keys to Guard "The rest of the stuff will bring them tomorrow" Don knotted and walked upstairs then Guard went outside Mat looked at him.
I opened the room and walked inside "Okay Don this is the second room you can choose which one you like"
Don looked around and stood at the window "Like this one Guard can have the other one"
I knotted "Okay Ah while you wait for Guard let me go downstairs to talk to Grant and Mat again please feel free and comfortable around the house be at easy and feel at home"
Don knotted "Hmm thanks I'll try" Guard knocked and came in smiling.
"Okay you settle in I'll go downstairs" I whispered
"Thanks again Naomi" Guard said I smiled at him and walked out of the room closing the door behind me.
I went downstairs as I got at the stairs I saw Mat and Grant walking around I took a deep breath and went to them "Before you guys say any…"
"Why didn't you tell us?" Mat asked
I looked at Grant "It seems he also doesn't remember my effort"
Grant looked at Mat "She tried many times when she said she wanted to tell us something she wanted to inform us about what the landlord wanted to but we were in the hurry or too tired to hear her"
"Exactly so you two can't blame me for this and what was that you did to Don and Guard?" I asked
Grant and Mat looked at each other "Well we didn't know what was going on" Mat whispered
"So no more street fights right?" I asked them and they both knotted "Great to hear now who wants famous cocktail one around?"
"I don't like to drink during weekdays but I'll like to have one please" Grant said and sat down.
Mat sat down on the counter "Me too just don't make it strong like the last time".
I laughed "Okay". Then Don and Guard came downstairs in truck pants and T-shirt I looked at them "Guys it's good you came down I'm about to make my famous cocktail and also I think the four of you need to introduce yourselves properly Mat and Guard you first"
Guard looked at his brother who gave him one glance then Guard went to Mat and forwarded his hand "Hey I'm Guard the new tenant"
Mat shook Guard's hand "Welcome Guard I'm Mat".
I smiled "Okay now Don and Grant it's your turn" They both looked at me "Introduce yourselves" They looked at each other and both walked away "Where are you guys going?" I asked
"My room" Grant said heading upstairs.
"Going for a run" Don said opening the door and walked out closing it behind him. Guard, Mat and I looked at each other.
"Stubborn and hot headed" I whispered
"That's my brother alright" Both Mat and Guard said at the same time and laughed looking at each other I stared at them they both looked at me and stopped laughing.
"Are you going to keep looking at us or you gonna gives us your famous cocktail?" Mat asked
"Here" I gave them their glasses "Drink up so you can laugh more" They looked at each other and drank their cocktails.
(In the morning)
Don, Guard and I we were in the kitchen drinking coffee while chatting then Mat and Grant came finding us laughing they looked at us.
"Guard what are you laughing about" Guard looked at me and Don "So early in the morning?" Mat asked
Guard cleared his throat "Nothing we were just talking" Don and I we tried not to laugh
Grant looked at Don "And you what are you laughing at?"
Don took a sip of his coffee and looked at Grant "Your stupid face" Don whispered while Guard shook his head I smiled looking at him Don putted his cup down and walked away Mat took his brother's cup and walked to the sink to wash them.
"My stupid face" Grant asked looking at Don who is climbing the stairs Grand looked back at us I drank my coffee smiling while Mat stared at him with lost of words Grant turned around "This guy will drive me crazy I swear" He whispered to himself and walked away.
Guard took his phone and cars keys "Okay I'm off to work, see you guys later"
"Work, you working on Saturday?" I asked
Guard looked at me "Yeah I run catering business" I knotted while pouting
"So when will you cater us" Mat asked
Guard looked at him "Never unless you pay me of cause" And then he walked out of the house Mat smiled and raised one his eyebrow I looked him and I could smell something in the air already metaphorically speaking I went and sat down on the couch.
Grant came back with his headphones on he went to the kitchen and poured himself some juice then he came and sat next to me I looked at the back and sighed Mat to come sit with us he smiled and knotted in a short while he came and sat next to Grant pretending to play with his phone I slightly shifted his headphone in his ear "What do you want Omi?" Grant asked and looked at me Mat cleared his throat then Grant looked at him while taking at sip of his juice.
"You like Don" I said then Grant choked and coughed he looked at me.
"Don't you?" Mat asked then Grant turned to him
"What a the hell are you saying?" Grant asked while whipping his mouth he stood up "It's not like that"
Mat and I we looked at each other "What are you saying?" we said at the same time Grant turned around and looked at us.
"This is what you always say when you like someone" I whispered
"Bullshit" Grant said and turned around again then Mat and I we looked at each other then we looked at Grant again we both raised our pinkie finger up
"You want to bet?" I asked
"Plus it's been a while not taking your money" Mat added
Grant turned around and looked at us farrowing he sat down on the table and scoffed "But his so stubborn, hot headed not to mention sarcastic"
I shifted forward on the couch and stared at him "Grant have you met yourself"
He scoffed and sat back in the couch with us "Anyways even if I might slightly like him (slightly) it's useless I don't know if his into guys or not cause you very well know that…"
"Your days of dating a straight guy are long over we know" Mat and I whispered at the same time with sarcasm tone.
Grant looked side by side at me and Mat "Can you two cut that out" Grant said
"Okay Grant so what if we don't know if Don his into guys or not" Mat said
"We can find out" I said and looked at Grant.
He shook his head and stood up he down at me and Mat "Do whatever you two want just don't get caught or make it wired for me to around the house please".
"Caught?" Mat asked
I laughed a bit "Us what are you saying have we ever been caught before trust us we will get you results soon" I said then Grant walked away and went upstairs I turned to Mat "So what do you think we should start with, his social media"
"No we should start with his brother first" Mat whispered
I raised my eyebrows and pouted at bit "Oh ok you go to guard and I'll dig on his social media here" I said
"Or you could just come with me" Mat replied
I gave it a little thought "Okay" I stood up "I'll dig his social media on the way" Mat stood up and walked to the door ahead of me I followed him and we left in his car. As we are on the way to Guard's restaurant then I realised something while I was busy on my phone I looked at the side "Hey Mat" I turned and looked at him "I just realised we rushed out but we don't know Guard's restaurant is"
Mat took out pamphlet from his pocket and handed to me "That's Guard's restaurant pamphlet I found it on the floor earlier it must have fallen down from Guard"
I pouted and knotted my head "And you secretly took it?" I asked
Mat briefly looked at me "Yeah to keep it save" He said
"In your pocket" I whispered
"Naomi what is that you are trying to imply?" Mat asked
"Nothing" I turned the pamphlet over "Oh wow there is an address here" I said
"You don't say" Mat whispered in sarcastic kind a way
I looked at him "Shut up".
Mat stopped the car on the other side of the road and looked at me "You've been on your phone since we left the house did you find anything about Don?"
I gave him the side look then we got out the car I walked around the car "You know you shouldn't have been concentrating on what I'm doing with my phone and concentrate on the fact that you parked the car on the other side of the road when there is plenty of free space in front of the restaurant" I gestured on the space as we cross the road.
Mat scoffed and looked at me "Earlier you told me to shut up now it's your turn"
"You know I've been with you for two years" We walked inside the restaurant "And I still can't figure out whose more sarcastic your brother or you" I said
"Shut up will you?" Mat whispered
Guard came out and saw us "You guys" He said being surprised "What are you doing here and how did you know where my restaurant is?"
"Mat kept your pamphlet safely" I said then Guard looked at Mat who is looking at him without blinking I cleared my throat he looked at me "It's not polite to stare and close your mouth" Few customers laughed
"How cute this couple are" One lady whispered to her friend Mat and I looked at her at the same time
"Not in the slightest" Mat quickly replied and looked at me "Because I'm not her type she's a lesbian but on the low".
I pouted while knotting my head "Did you just sell me out to strangers?" Mat smiled a bit being cocky I narrowed my eyes at him and looked at Guard "Hey Guard did I happen to mention that Mat his into…"
"Naomi if you finish that sentence I'll hang you alive right in this restaurant at this moment" Mat said cutting me off from finishing my statement.
I walked to the empty table in front of the counter "Fine I guess it's a good thing I didn't use the G word" I whispered to myself then I saw Guard raising his eyebrows I sat down "From his facial expression I guess he heard me, My message hint is delivered and received" I said in my head Mat came and sat next to me.
Guard putted his on the counter and stared at us "You guys haven't told me why you are here" He came to us and sat down he looked back "Hey Ben" he called him
"Yes boss" Ben replied
"Can you please bring us three sodas?" Guard asked
"Sure boss" Ben said
Guard turned to us again and leaned on the table folding his arms in a short while Ben came with the sodas and putted them on the table Guard looked at him "Thank you Ben" Ben knotted and went back to the counter then attended the customer.
"Okay let me ask again, why are you two here?" Guard asked
"Ah we been living together for almost four months now and we just came to know about your catering business so we just came to see your restaurant right Mat?" I looked at him taking my soda.
Guard knotted his head and drank his soda looking at Mat "Is that true Mat?"
Mat stared at him "Hmm actually we came to ask if your brother is gay"
Guard choked and coughed on his soda "You came to ask what?" He asked
I putted my soda down "Mat really?"
Guard coughed and sat back on his chair "Let me get this clear you two came here to ask me if my brother Don More is gay?"
"Yeah" Mat replied I shook my head
Guard scoffed "Where and how did you two come upon this topic?"
"Let's just say there is someone who is interested in him" I said
Guard stared at Mat "You are interested in my brother?" Guard yelled and looked around then stared at Mat again.
"Me no" Mat refused and drank his soda then Guard knotted and drank his soda as well being nervous.
"Trust me his not" Then I sat back on my chair "His more interested in you" I whispered Both Mat and Guard spit out their sodas and looked at each other.
Mat stood up "We need to get going" He grabbing my elbow and looked at me "Why aren't you getting up did you drove yourself here you didn't right let's go" Mat shyly looked at Guard "Thank you for the soda" Then he pulled my hand "Move it let's go" I stood up and we walked out of the restaurant while Guard looked at us shaking his head Mat looked back at Guard.
Guard shyly smiled and remembered all the moment he had encountered with Mat "So he likes me"
Grace came she's one of Guard's waitresses "Sir..." Guard looked at her "Are those people you're..?"
"Yes they are my house-mates I told you all about" Guard said
Grace sat down "Wow that guy his quite handsome".
Guard looked at her "His into guys Grace"
Grace knotted "I could tell by the way he was looking at you it was quite obvious" Guard smiled Grace stared at him "Oh my god you like him too aren't you?"
"Get back to work Grace you of all people should know I'm off from dating" Guard said
"Boss" Grace sat back on her chair farrowing "Come on now your last relationship was over a year ago you can't possibly tell me you still stuck on that"
"Grace I'm not stuck anywhere but where you need to be stuck at is this counter behind me" Guard pointed on the counter with his thump.
"Boss come on" Grace said standing up she looked at Guard who sighed her to go she turned around and dragged her feet "Such handsome guy boss his gonna miss out on a great guy" Guard looked over his shoulder and smiled shaking his head.
(In the evening)
Grant his sitting on the kitchen counter chair working on his laptop he scoffed and stood up he went to the fridge and took the bottle of water then went outside to get some fresh air.
Don came downstairs and saw Grant's laptop he looked around but didn't see anyone he went to the counter and looked at the laptop "Don what are you doing you would be reprimanded for this if that Grant catches you" Don looked around and sat down he looked at the model then saw a model print next to the laptop he opened it looked at it he took some pencil and made some changes and fixed some mistakes then he poured himself a juice in the glass and quickly went upstairs.
After a while Grant returned to resume his work he became surprised when he opens the model print he looked around "What a hell" He looked at the model again and liked the changes Don made "So his not only stubborn hot headed but his also smart too nice" Grant smiled and continued with his work.
Mat and I returned home while Mat is still angry at me and ignoring me for what I told Guard I followed him "Mat you are mad at me but in fact you should thank me if I didn't speak on your behalf and told Guard that you…"
"What about my brother?" Don asked coming down the stairs Mat and I looked at him Grant looked at us and Don
"Ah nothing we went to his restaurant it's nice" Mat quickly replied
"And him" I whispered Mat looked at me
"So Don" I went to him and held his elbow "I want to ask you something come sit please" We sat down on the couch
"Is everything okay?" Don asked Grant looked at Mat and sighed with his head Mat shook his head.
"Yes everything is great I just want to ask you something" I said
"Okay what is it?" Don asked
I cleared my throat "Are you on social media?" I asked
"Huh?" Don said while Mat and Grant scoffed at the same time.
"Facebook?"
"Nope"
"Twitter?"
"Nope"
"Tiktok?"
"Nope"
"Grinder?" Grant and Mat's jaw dropped metaphorically speaking
"Excuse me?" Don asked staring at me.
"Nothing, how about Instagram?"
Don stood up and looked down on me "Yes I'm on Instagram what are you getting at Naomi?"
I looked back at Grant and Mat smiling I looked at Don "Actually you seem like a fashionable guy I'm looking for some people for my exhibition that is coming up so can I have your IG handle to see your profile?"
"I doubt you will find it interesting but my handle is (@The Real More).
"Thank you" I whispered while smiling
Don's phone rang "Hey I've been calling you"
"I'm sorry I didn't hear listen I'm not gonna return home today I'm going out with Grace so I'll sleep at her place"
"Okay see you tomorrow"
"In the morning brother"
"Alright say hey to Grace for me bye" Don then ended the call.
"Guard is not coming home today?" I asked Don
Don putted his phone in the pocket "Mm his gonna sleepover at Grace's place"
"Is that his girlfriend?" Mat asked I looked at him having a disappointed facial expression he walked to the sink.
"Girlfriend no ways Grace is Guard friend" Don whispered
I sat back on the couch and looked up at Don "Don why did you say it so ironically like that?"
Don turned around and looked over his shoulder "Because my brother is the one you should ask him about grinder" He said and walked away while Mat drop his coffee mug in the sink
Grant and I our jaws dropped then I smiled looking back at Mat "What about you then?"
Don stopped at the stairs and looked back "I'm straight and into women" Grant stood up closing his laptop and walked away being annoyed we all looked at him then Don went upstairs.
I went to Grant and found him looking outside the window "Don't tell me you are sulking over what Don just said about liking women cause clearly he was teasing you?"
"What do you mean he was teasing me?" Grant asked
I scoffed "Cause when he said he was straight he briefly looked at you and I was looking at him so I noticed it".
Grant turned to me narrowing his eyes "Teasing me do you think he suspect that I might like him?" I looked at him raising my eyebrows and then we both looked outside the window at the same time.
(In the morning)
Guard walked in finding Grant, Mat and I drinking coffee "Good morning guys"
"Morning" Mat said then Grant raised his cup to Guard
"Hey so how was the Sunday night out?" I asked
Guard smiled and came to us "It was not a night out but it was okay it had been a while since I went out"
"So when you are here you will open the restaurant late?" Mat asked
Guard looked at him and smiled a bit "No Grace has the keys she's the one who opens in the morning"
Don came down and Guard looked at him "Oh you already here?" Guard went to him and putted his hand on Don's forehead "What are you doing?"
"Are you sick you look kind a pale?" Guard asked
"Good morning to you too and no I'm not sick" Don said taking Guard's hand off from his forehead "I have to go to work I'll talk to you later" Don said and walked away
"Don" Guard called out to his brother and stood at the door "Get some medicines on the way".
Don unlocked his car and opened the door he looked at his brother "It's not needed Dr Guard cause I'm fine" He said and got in the car.
Guard closed the door and looked at us "Why did destiny make him the elder brother where else I always have to take care of him" Guard said and went upstairs Grant, Mat and I laughed
"Okay guys" I said taking my stuff "I'm off to the studio I have a lot of work to do and to prep for the exhibition see you later" Then I walked away
"Hmm Hey Omi" Mat called out to me I looked at him "Since I'm on leave if you need some help let me know" I smiled and knotted
"Me too" Grant said
"And don't forget me" Guard said coming down from the stairs and went to the kitchen
I smiled shaking my head "Will do thanks guys" Then I left I got my motorbike and rode off.
Grant stood up "Alright guys I'm also off to work later" He took his blazer and bag then left
Mat sat back on the couch being all nervous he cleared his throat and folded his arms "And then there were two" Guard laughed Mat froze listening to Guard's laughter he slowly looked back and stood up he smiled seeing Guard laughing "His laughing maybe his getting comfortable around me now" Mat said in his mind Guard continued to laugh then he took off his glasses Mat walked around the couch "You have a sweet laughter" Guard stopped and looked at him he quickly worn his glasses.
"When did you get here?" Guard asked
Mat slowly walked around the counter "Why did you wear your glasses again?" Guard looked at him he tried to get away but Mat blocked his way and made him stand in front of him.
"What are you doing?" Guard asked
Mat tuned Guard who held the counter with is hands "Until when are we gonna run away from each other?" Mat asked he looked at Guard glasses then gently he took them off he stared his Guard's eyes who is frozen on his spot "You have nice eye". Mat whispered
Guard raised his eyebrows "Really didn't you notice them when you called me four eyes when we first met?"
Mat looked down feeling bad he looked at Guard again "I'm sorry about that it was stupid of me to call you that"
Guard knotted with a smirk smile "Well that's good to know anyways thank you and I'm gonna be late for work so excuse me please" Mat bite his lower lip while knotting his head Guard shifted Mat aside and walked away.
Mat looked at him "We are not strangers anymore right?" He asked
Guard looked at him "No I guess we are not just don't try to hit on me again" Then he walked out the house
Mat sat down and scoffed "If only you knew that my next hit is already in motion you won't say that to me Mr nice eyes" He smiled while looking at the door.
I arrived at the my studio and parked my motorbike and went inside "Good morning Rose"
"Hey Naomi morning so are you ready?" Rose asked
I farrowed leaning on the counter "Ready for what?"
"Your morning updates that your agents have made over the weekend"
"Updates Rose what are you talking about I already summited to my agents you forgot about it last month?" I asked
Rose stood up "Well sorry to bust your morning but they changed the theme"
"Wait what?" I asked standing up straight being shocked
"I Emailed it to you on Saturday the exhibitioner changed the theme they going for LGBTQ didn't you read it?"
I shook my head and rushed to my office I sat down and opened my emails then read one mail from Rose "How did I miss this at such short span of time what I'm I going to do" I stood up and walked around then I remembered something
"Okay guys" I said taking my stuff "I'm off to the studio I have a lot of work to do and to prep for the exhibition see you later" Then I walked away.
"Hmm Hey Omi" Mat called out to me I looked at him "Since I'm on leave if you need some help let me know" I smiled and knotted.
"Me too" Grant said
"And don't forget me" Guard said coming down from the stairs and went to the kitchen.
I smiled shaking my head "Will do thanks guys".
I sat down smiling "LGBTQ huh okay I have a lot of work caught up to me but no stress I'll give them the LGBTQ theme alright" I took out my phone and typed the message "House-mates urgent meeting at the house at 5pm today" Then I sent it to all of them.
(In the afternoon)
Grant and Mat were sitting in the kitchen chairs then Don and Guard were sitting in the couch while I kept pacing around.
"Naomi you said this is an urgent meeting right so what's wrong?" Grant asked
I looked at them "Okay I'll understand if you guys refuse to do this but I have to ask"
"Okay ask then" Guard whispered
I sat down and held my breathe "My agent changed my theme for the exhibition so the new theme is LGBTQ" From their facial expression I could see they were shocked "Forget I said anything" I stood up as I'm about to walk away.
"I'll do it" Don said
"Me too" Mat said
"And me" Guard whispered
I looked at them then at Grant who is smiling "What are you smiling at?"
"You can breathe out now cause you can count me in too" Grant said I smiled and slowly breathed out heavily.
"Okay miss photographer what do you want us to do?" Don asked
"I'll let you guys know during the week I still have to decide on the scenes to be photographed" I said
"Okay will wait for you" Guard said that moment I became relaxed and felt at ease knowing that all part of my work are coming together I looked at everyone thinking that they don't know what I have stored for them that this photo shoot will open their paths of their relationships.
Don held his stomach "Ah guys excuse me I'll be right back" He got up and went upstairs Guard looked at him with concern.
I stood up "Hey guys how about we eat out tonight just for once in the while Guard you always cook at your restaurant let's go have outside food Mat and Grant what do you think?"
"Okay I'm up for it let's go" Mat said
"I'm sorry guys I'm gonna have to refuse I have work to do but bring me some food" Grant whispered
"Okay" I looked at Guard "Come on Guard say yes"
Guard scoffed "Okay fine but let me go ask Don if he wants come along"
"Okay will wait" I said then Guard went upstairs Mat took his car keys and phone and walked to the door we waited for Guard then he came back with the same concern facial expression from earlier "What happened is Don coming?"
"Ah no his not coming apparently his not feeling well which I told him the morning and he didn't listen to me" Guard said
"What's wrong with him?" Mat asked
"I think its stomach ache probably from something he ate" Guard replied
"Omi maybe we should cancel so Guard can be with his brother and take care of him" Mat whispered
"No we should go" Guard said putting his jacket on and took his phone "Cause Don hates being taken care of so if I stay I know I'll overdo it and he'll end up biting my head off so let's go I'll bring him some medicine when we return".
"Are you sure?" Mat asked
"Yeah let's go" Guard said heading to the door then Mat and I followed him and walked out I looked back at Grant and sighed him upstairs to take care of Don Grant shook his head and stood up he walked around the kitchen counter and took out some things and made some stomach remedy for Don he poured on the glass and putted on the side with the note next to it he went to the living room and sat down taking his laptop.
Don came down holding his stomach he went to the kitchen and drank some water he looked at the remedy glass and read the note (Don drink this remedy it will help easy your stomach ache) Don looked at Grant "You made this?" He asked
"Don't worry it's not poison" Grant replied
"Who said its poison I simply asked if you made this you know what I don't have energy to do this with you now" Don said
"Yes I did" Grant said
Don looked at him "Thank you" He whispered and drank the remedy then walked away to go back upstairs.
Grant closed his eyes and shut his laptop "Why I'm always ready to fight with him this could've been my chance" He whispered in his mind he opened his eyes and looked at Don who is climbing the stairs holding his stomach "Don wait" Grant ran to the stairs Don stopped as he turns around he slipped causing them to hold on to each other "Carful are you okay?" Grant asked whispering in Don's ear.
Don looked at his hands as he was holding on Grant "Yeah" Then he pulled back a bit and looked at him "Thanks".
"I'm sorry Don" Grant whispered still holding on Don "I shouldn't have spoken to you like that I'm really sorry".
Don knotted "its okay it's not I've made things easer from the time we met"
"Yeah me too" Grant and Don smiled "How about we start over" Grant held out his hand to Don "Hey I'm Grant North"
Don held Grant's hand "Don More"
"Nice to meet you Don" Grant said
"Like wise Grant" Don replied both smiled at each other "I'll go lay down for a bit".
Grant knotted "Okay" Don turned and went to his room Grant leaned against the wall and looked up smiling he briefly closed his eyes and then went back to the living room and sat down he back on the couch smiling remember their hug.
Don laid down on the bed staring at the ceiling smiling "Your path is now opened Grant now what's your next move?" Don talked to himself.
After a while Guard, Mat and I returned home we found Grant still working in the living room with his model print on the table "That was quick" Grant said
"Yeah Mat and Naomi wanted me to bring Don his medication I'll just go and give him them to him you guys can eat in the meantime" Guard said
"No we will wait for guys" Mat said Guard knotted and headed upstairs to check on his brother then Mat and I putted the food paper bags on the table.
"Okay Grant we bought some sushi and lasagna" I said
Grant peeked in the bags "They smell great let me grip some sodas in the fridge" Guard came back "Is Don joining us?" Grant asked
"No his asleep I didn't want to wake him up he should rest I putted the medication in his room he'll see them in the morning" Guard said and sat down.
"You are so sensitive about your brother huh?" I asked sitting down Grant came with sodas and sat down with Mat.
"You could putted it that way yeah when I was a kid Don took care of me and didn't let me lack anything so now it's my turn to care and look out for him" Guard said
"But what about your parents?" Mat asked
Guard opened his food and sat back on his chair then took his fork "Ah our parents died when we were young in the car accident I was 5 years old and Don was 10 we didn't have any relatives to take us in so we were send to the foster care school but as Don was a bit older he was send in the different one" Guard took a bite of his lasagna he smiled remembering something "We couldn't see each other often but whenever Don got the chance to snack out he would come to see me in the middle of the night years went by doing the same thing then when I was 10 I went to the foster care school that Don was at but as he was older also he went to the different one then he finished high school he got out of the system cause he was doing online studies on the side he obtained his degree on Architecture then when he was 19 he found the job and took me from the foster care school and took care of me he was working and studying at the same time so ever since Don has never had someone to take care of him even though I know he doesn't like I understand his not used to it so even though he gets mad and annoyed I have to look out and care for him cause he might look tough from outside but to me there is still that 10 year old Don inside.
"No wonder my ears are ringing" Don said coming down stairs we looked at him smiling he looked at his brother "You talking about me"
"Come on Don his just telling us about his amazing brother what's wrong in that?" I whispered
Guard looked at Don "How's your stomach did you see your medication you should take them you'll be better by morning"
"Guard relax I know you think the 10 year old me is still inside but I'm a grown man and you don't need to take care of me as I took care of you it was my duty to care of you as I'm your older brother and to keep the promise I made when you were born that I'll take care of you with my life" Don said
"I love my brother but your relation is beyond anything" Mat whispered we all laugh.
"Come on let's eat I'm starving" I said
"Yes please my stomach is upset I know but I'm very hungry" Don whispered
Guard smiled "It's good that I bought you your favourite Chines" He said
"Did you get the sauce?" Don asked
Guard shook his head "You shouldn't be eating it you have stomach ache but" He handed the sauce to Don "How can I forget the sauce" Don smiled and took it then we had our dinner chatting and laughing fooling around.
(In the morning)
"Naomi, Mat" Grant called out from upstairs he came down looking all sharp "Omi"
I looked at him "What happened?"
"Have you seen my black good luck blazer?" Grant asked
"No" Mat asked
"Good luck blazer?" Guard asked being confused
I scratched my hair "Ah I totally found that I once borrowed it and took it to the dry cleaner" I whispered
"Dry cleaner" Grant said
"I'm sorry Grant since I've been with the exhibition preparations I totally forgot about it to collect" Grant sat down.
"What happened Grant do you need it today urgently" Mat asked
"Yes I have presentation today" Grant replied
"Oh boy" I whispered Grant held his head.
Don looked at Grant and came to me "What's a good luck blazer?"
"Grant only wears that black blazer whenever he has big presentation it's his dad's blazer so he says his dad's blessings and support are with him when he wears it" Don looked at him and went upstairs.
"If I mess up this presentation that woman will have my head today" Grant whispered to himself
Don came with his black Blazer and handed to Grant "Here" Grant looked at him "This should fit you".
"Thanks but I need my own blazer" Grant said
"Grant your presentation is your hard work have faith in yourself you don't need luck to nail that presentation but if you need it then my luck will be with you as I've never failed any business deals so take it" Don said Grant stared at him "What are you staring at aren't you gonna be late for your presentation?"
"Yeah" Grant stood up and took the blazer and his work stuff "Thank you" Grant said
"Good luck" Don whispered I smiled looking at them Mat and Guard looked at me.
"Bye guys" Grant said and rushed out.
Mat went to Don "Thank you Don"
"For what?" Don asked
"Encouraging my brother" Mat's eyes wailed up with tears "I tried many times to encourage him but what you did today is something he wished he got from our dad since he was a kid he always thought he was weak I don't know is that he knew that Grant was…". He stopped and walked away being sad Guard went after him Don looked at me.
I went to the kitchen and poured some water "You know Don you and Grant had rough childhood in your own ways but I feel bad that Grant's dad made Grant feel less of himself just because his…" I stopped and looked at him.
"Because his gay" Don said then I drank water I putted the glass down and looked at him again then leaned on the counter.
I knotted "Yeah and that is why he still doesn't have the courage to tell you he likes you"
Don looked at me and smiled "And you won't tell him that I know that his gay or he likes me let's put his courage on the test what do you say?"
I smiled knotting "Yeah let's anyway are you not going to work today?"
"No my stomach is still not completely fine so I'll be working from home today" Don said
"Are you too busy?" I asked
Don looked back "Not really why you need some help?"
"Yeah I have a team behind me but there is still a lot of work to be done so I could use all the help I can get with the settings and display" I whispered
"Then we all will go with you" Guard said from behind I turned back he smiled with Mat by his side "Okay then let's go" The four of us went to the venue where I'll be opening my gallery.
"Wow Naomi this is amazing" Guard said looking around
"Thank you this is a dream come true after a long time of hard work and saving every penny I earned" I whispered
"It's gonna look great so what do we have to do?" Mat asked
"Ah before we get busy I have to show you guys something come this way" I said heading them to the side where their photos will be show cased "This area is where your photos will be show cased this whole section" They all looked at the space being shocked.
"Exactly how many pictures are we gonna take to be able to fill this area?" Don asked
"It's not gonna be that many it will be individual pictures then others will be something like story telling I'm thinking which story I should present that's what I'll inform you tonight or tomorrow after I finalize with my team"
"No need to go around it Omi I think we already know what story is gonna be told its okay will do it right Mat?" Guard asked looking at Mat
"Absolutely" Mat said smiling Don and I laughed a bit looking at him then I should them around and introduced them to my team and other people I'll be collaborating with we did the work and set some display we really worked hard the whole as the gallery is due to open in a month.
(In the afternoon)
We returned home all tired and dirty we found Grant home laughed at us for being dirty and the fact that we all fell on the couch at the same time and breathed out heavily.
"You guys look bumped you should see your faces" Grant said
"Yeah well this dirty faces are for the good course bro" Mat replied
Don stood up "Well on that note I'm gonna hit the shower" As his about to walk away.
"Hey Don" Grant called out to him.
"Yeah" Don replied turning around.
Grant took the blazer from the couch and walked to Don "Thank you" Grant said handing the blazer to Don "You were right I aced my presentation on my own I didn't need blazer after all your encouragement made me believe in myself" We all smiled looking at each other.
Don looked at the blazer then looked at Grant "You keep it".
"Keep it?" Grant asked being confused
Don smirked "Yes so that next time you need little encouragement you look at this blazer it will remind you of this day so keep it".
"No ways" Guard said being shocked and surprised
Don looked at his brother "What happened?"
"Are you the same Don North I know my brother Don North?" Guard asked
Don scoffed "And your point is my brother?"
"You've changed" Guard said
Don rolled his eyes turned then walked away "Sometimes little change is good Guard" Don said heading upstairs.
Guard smiled "No need to be sarcastic about it"
"Sarcasm was on my birth right you should know this by now" Don replied from upstairs we all laughed at Guard who is in loss of words.
(In the evening)
After we all took our long hot showers I went downstairs and found Guard and Mat on their phones then Grant and Don on their laptops I went to them taking the chair I putted it down in front of them "Alright guys" they raised their eyes looking at me "I've finalized the shoot scenes that will show case the story so you not gonna do many shoots there will be few"
"Okay" Grant said "Cool".
"So I paired the four of you Mat is with Guard and Don with Grant" Each pair looked at each other.
"If I may ask what scenes are we going to shoot?" Guard asked
I looked at them staring at me "Ah work profession, outdoors, dates, fun times, house and hmm..."
Don raised his eyebrows "Hmm what?"
"Bed room" I whispered
"Huh?" Don expressed
"So that means kissing is involved?" Mat asked
I cleared my throat "Hmm pretty much yeah" I whispered they all weirdly smiled not looking at each other.
Grant leaned back on the couch "When is the photo shoot?"
"This Saturday" I said
Mat knotted "So we are kissing this Saturday" He said
Guard stood up "Excuse me" Then he walked away going outside we all looked at him Mat stared at him I looked at Don who is all nervous.
"Guys if you are not comfortable with this please tell me" I said
"No it's not like that we will do it don't worry" Don said then he stood up and walked to the window and looked at his brother "I'm just worried about Guard", I walked to him seeing how tense he is I stood next him "I know he really want to be part of this but this is really a big challenge for him"
"Challenge what do you mean?" I asked
Don breathed out heavily "Guard was in love with his middle school boyfriend they went all the way to high school they dated for 5 years then out of the blue Scott was not in love with Guard anymore" Mat looked at us "We were confused I tried to ask Scott but he said he was sure his feelings for Guard was not there anymore it rocked My brother's world it was a 2 years ago he fell into depression I got him some help then we relocated we've been changing places ever since this is our 5th place in this 2 years he never interacted with any guy ever since".
Mat stood up and went outside I looked at him he went to Guard who is sitting at the patio looking at the sky he sat next him he looked at him "I'm just here to listen".
"Just sit here quietly it will be enough…for now" Guard whispered
"Okay" Mat replied they sat outside looking at the sky.
The Saturday came and the guys did the photo shoots of Don and Grant at the beach, park, office, house and bedroom then I did photo shoot of Mat and Guard I was impressed by Mat's gentleness towards Guard every shoot they did he was considerate even though it was a bit tough for Guard to be in such scene he managed to enjoy and have a good time by doing the shoot the two became closer than before after they did hangouts after another not to forget Don and Grant who their relationship bloom from sarcastic to romance while I was buried in my work.
(Don's office)
Don in his office the phone rang
Don pressed the phone button "Yes Emily" Don answered
"Sir Mr Grant North is on line two" Emily said
Don smiled and leaned back on his chair "Okay put him through"
"Yes sir"
The phone beeped
"Yes Mr North what can I do for you?" Don asked
"Just checking in" Grant said
"Just checking in?" Don asked
Grant smirked over the phone "Yes I'm checking in"
Don farrowed "What are you bored?" He asked
"No" Grant whispered
Don turned his chair around and looked at the window "What you want to annoy me?"
Grant chuckled "Will you stop it please I've had enough of your sarcasm in my life time can you cut it out please"
Don laughed "Okay fine so what can I do for you Mr North?"
"I want to gather so courage" Grant said
"For what?" Don asked
"So I can properly ask you out"
Don smiled "Out do I look like a teenager to you?" He asked
"Okay how about a date?" Grant asked
Don turned his chair again and leaned in the table "Sounds great but I can't now I'm still stuck at work rain check?"
"Okay I understand see you at the house" Grant whispered
"Yeah okay" Don then hung up the phone and smiled.
(At the house)
Mat set up the dinner table outside with some fairy lights decoration at the back yard Guard came home being tired he fell on the couch breathing out heavily.
"Finally now I could use a long hot shower" Guard said
Mat came "Well not yet" He said from behind
Guard looked back at him "Hey I didn't know you were here I thought I was alone where is everyone?"
"Out, your brother his working late so my brother took dinner for him" Mat said
"Then Naomi?" Guard asked
"Out with her friends"
Guard knotted pouting "Then there is two".
Mat laughed "Yeah it seems, come I have little surprise for you" Mat went to Guard and pulled him up "Come on" He took him outside Guard became shocked "What do you think do you like it?"
Guard looked at him "This is beyond you".
Mat laughed "Yeah it's good you know but I wanted to do this for you" Guard shyly smiled looking at the lights they sat down then Mat served them food they talked and laughed enjoying their dinner I returned home then heard people Mat laughing at back yard I went at the back and saw Mat and Guard I smiled and walked away going to my room.
(At Don's office)
As Don is busy with his work he heard a knocked he looked at the door "Knock at this time" Don asked himself "Come in".
Grant opened the door and peeked inside "I brought your rain check".
Don smiled "You, how did you get inside?" He asked standing up
Grant walked in closing the door "I used my charm on the security lady downstairs" He putted the paper bag on the table.
Don shook his head walking around his table "Shame if only she knew" Grant laughed Don sat down on the couch then Grant sat next him and took out the food "Chines for you and your sauce"
"You remembered" Don said being surprised
Grant handed the chop-sticks to Don "Of cause I remembered are you impressed?"
"Shut up let's eat" Don said then Grant laughed while Don smiled opening his food and ate Grant opened the sauce for Don.
(The following day)
Don walked in his brother's restaurant "Hey" He said finding Guard sitting on the counter busy with some paper work he sat down next to him.
"Hey you know despite living in the same house I hardly see you" Guard said
Don smiled shaking his head "I got your message what's up?" He asked
Guard putted his pen down "I think I'm gonna give it try" He said
Don looked at his brother "Are you sure you ready?" He asked
"Hmm" Guard replied
Don knotted "So when are you planning to break it to Mat?"
"Right now"
Don smiled knotting "Okay well good luck" Don held his brother's shoulder "Now get out of here I'll close up with Grace"
"Yeah?"
"Yes go" Don whispered
Guard smiled and stood up taking his apron off and handed to Don "Thanks" He said and paced out of the restaurant Don smiled and went at the back.
(At Mat's office)
Mat and Grant talking in Mat's office Guard came and found the door slightly opened "I know bro both of them are so annoying" Guard stopped
"I know but you seem to be serious" Grant said
"Are you kidding me no ways it's only temporary thing how about you?" Mat asked
Grant sat back at the chair "Don't ask bro mine his just nuisance and pain my neck" Mat and Grant laughed Guard became sad and walked away Grant and Mat looked at the door.
Guard got in his car and held the steering tightly he bent his head and cried he called his brother
"Hey is it done already that was quick?" Don asked then heard his brother sobbing "Guard what's wrong Guard?"
"I want us to move immediately" Guard said
"Wait what, what do you mean?" Don asked
Guard started the car "I'm heading to the house"
"Guard" Don said but Guard ended the call and drove away.
Don looked around and took his apron off "Ah Grace" Don called out to her
"Yeah" Grace replied
"I'm sorry but can you lock up there is an emergency I need to attend" Don said panicking
Grace looked at him "Yeah but is everything okay the last time you were like this…Guard"
Don looked at her "I hope not"
'Okay go" Grace said then Don ran out Grace looked at him and sat down being worried "What could have happened now?" She asked herself.
(Back at home)
I walked in the house and found Don "Hey Don" I looked at his side and saw suit case "Bag are you going somewhere?"
"We are leaving" Don said
I narrowed my eyes not understanding "What do you mean, I don't understand?"
"Well Mat and Grant" Don whispered
"Will understand" Guard said coming down the stairs carrying his bags "I went to see Mat's office and I found their true feelings regarding me and my brother" He walked passed me and went outside to his car.
"Don please talk to me just tell me what happened did you Mat and Grant say something?" I asked
Don scoffed "Naomi will talk later" He walked away
"Don" I called out to him they got in their cars and drove off "What a hell just happened?" I asked myself.
(In the evening)
Grant and Mat came home laughing they saw me sitting on the stairs "Hey Omi" I just looked at them Mat and Grant looked at each other "Is everything okay?" Mat asked
"You guys tell me" I replied they looked at each other again
"What do you mean?" Grant asked
"Never mind that" Mat looked at me "Hey Omi I didn't see Guard's car have you spoken to him I get him on the phone?'
"Yeah me too I can't get through to Don" Grant said
"I have and both of them moved out" I said
Mat and Grant both stared at me "What do you mean moved out?" they both asked at the same time.
I stood up "I mean they took their stuff and left" I gestured to the door with my hands and went upstairs leaving both them confused.
Mat and Grant tried calling Guard and Don
"I don't understand" Mat whispered pacing in the around calling and calling.
"Why is Don's phone off?" Grant asked himself not understanding and panicking "They can't just leave like that, I don't understand".
Two brothers spend weeks being confused and trying to reach out to Guard and Don but nothing they kept walking around the house lost in their thoughts asking themselves questions but not getting any answers Grant went Don's work and found out he had took immediate leave while Mat also tried asking Grace at the restaurant about Guard but didn't get anything.
As I've been busy with the preparations for my exhibition as is due to open in the week I returned home from the studio finding Mat and Grant all bumped out "Mat, Grant" They looked at me with no energy in their facial expression.
"It's been weeks now no word from Guard" Mat said
"Or Don" Grant added I breathed out looking at them Grant stood up and came to me "Omi please try to think they must have said something or where they wanted to go or have been".
I scoffed and sat down "Well I don't know much details but what I know is that the day they left Guard said something like he went to Mat's office"
"My office no Guard didn't come to my office are you sure he said…?" Mat said being confused
"Yes so Mat try to think what happened at your office that day" Mat stood up trying to think Grant sat down but stood up again remembering something I looked at him.
"Oh wait on that day I was at your office right Mat?" Grant said Mat looked at him.
I looked at Mat "Okay so what happened cause this matter involves both of you, did you do something?" I asked
"No we just talked about our bosses" Mat said
I raised one my eyebrow being curious "And what exactly did you two say regarding your bosses?"
Mat and Grand remembered:
Mat and Grant talking in Mat's office Guard came and found the door slightly opened "I know bro both of them are so annoying" Guard stopped
"I know but you seem to be serious" Grant said
"Are you kidding me no ways it's only temporary thing how about you?" Mat asked
Grant sat back at the chair "Don't ask bro mine his just nuisance and pain my neck" Mat and Grant laughed Guard became sad and walked away Grant and Mat looked at the door.
"Well no" Mat sat down and held his head he stood up again "Guard must have heard our conversation".
"And misunderstood us" Grant added
I looked at both of them "misunderstood what?" I asked being confused Mat explained what happened.
"And knowing Guard's past relationship no wonder he was angry" I remembered what Guard told ("Will understand" Guard said coming down the stairs carrying his bags "I went to see Mat's office and I found their true feelings regarding me and my brother" He walked passed me and went outside to his car.) I closed my eyes and stood up "It makes sense now".
"What?" Mat asked
"The day Don and Guard left Guard said something like he got to know both your feelings regarding him and Don"
Mat took his car keys "Mat wait" He looked at me "Where are you going you tried finding him it's no use rushing out wait today it's the 25th?"
"So?" Mat asked
"I've read somewhere that the company that Don works at they are holding an event today I'm sure Don would be there maybe Guard also would be there" I said
Grant took his phone "Then why are we still standing here for let's go" We all rushed out and got on Grant's car.
(At the event)
Grant, Mat and I got at the event we went inside the hall and looked around "Guys I'll go looked for Guard at the kitchen" Grant and I knotted
Grant then spotted Don's assistant "Emily".
"What?" I asked
Grant pointed some girl "She's Emily Don's assistant she might know something Naomi you go to Mat in the meantime"
"Okay good luck" I whispered Grant knotted his head and went to Emily I looked at him and walked away.
Grant got to Emily "Emily"
She turned around "Mr North what are you…?"
"Please is Don here?" Grant asked Emily looked around "Please"
"I just saw him heading outside" Emily said gesturing where Don went "Don't add on him he looks bumped as it is"
Grant smiled "I don't intend to" Then he walked away he went outside and found Don standing and leaning on the balcony "There you are"
Don looked down and turned around "What are you doing here Grant, leave from here"
"Don please Guard had misunderstanding let me clarify it first then if you still want me to leave I'll go just hear me out once"
"It's not needed leave" Don said and passed him
Grant held his hand "Guard misunderstood Mat's conversation with me"
Don looked at him and took Grant's hand away "Spare me I have event to attend" Grant hugged Don "What are you doing?" Don asked
"I just want you to hear me out that day at Mat's office we were not talking about you and Guard but instead we were talking about our bosses"
Don broke off from the hug "Your bosses?"
"Don how can lie about my feelings for you when I fell for you from the moment you rolled down your window and looked at me after u wasted so much time being a fool from all the moments we spend together do you think that was fake is it because I didn't express how much I like you fine just look in my eyes and tell if I'm lying" Grant stood closely in front of Don who is staring at his eyes "Okay fine let me proof it to you then" Grant passionately kissed Don.
I went outside and saw Mat sitting on the stairs I went to him "Hey I've been looking for you did you find Guard?"
Mat shook his head "His not here it's only Grace and other stuff"
After a while Grant and Don came from behind "Here" Mat looked back and stood up Don handed a piece of paper to Mat "You can find him at this address" Mat took the paper and looked at it.
Grant handed his car keys to his brother "Go get him"
"Wait what do you mean go get him, we are all going" I said
Grant smiled "But why?"
"Moral support, you know how those two can get when they are filled with emotions" We all remembered the past incidents
Don smiled "You guys go I can't leave the event yet"
"Naomi you go with Mat I'm gonna stay back with Don"
I scoffed "Fine part one lovers you stay and I'll go to part two lovers" I looked at Mat "You still standing you should have been in the car by now let's go" Don and Grant laughed while Mat and I rushed to the car.
"Good luck" Grant yelled out then Mat and I got in the car and drove off.
On the way I saw that Mat was tense "Mat relax a bit"
He looked at me "Yeah I just can't help to think what Guard felt when he heard that conversation"
"Mat it was misunderstanding I'm sure he'll understand" I reassured Mat seeing how tense he is he just knotted then we drove for about 45 minutes then reached the guest house where Guard is he stopped the car and quickly got out of the car leaving the door open "Good luck" I shouted then he ran to the house.
Mat quickly opened the door and saw Guard on the stairs holding his bags "Are you going somewhere again?" Mat asked panting
"Yeah home" Guard replied
Mat went to the stairs "Guard please just hear me out first"
"It's okay Mat"
"No I know you heard my conversation with my brother but you misunderstood us we were not talking about you and Don"
"I know"
Mat held Guard's hands "I swear I was not talking about you I was talking about my boss I would never say things like that about you"
Guard kissed Mat to shut him up he looked at him "I know I'm sorry Don called me and told me before you came"
Mat looked at the bags "Then why are you going home?"
Guard farrowed "What don't you want me to go home?"
Mat shook his head "No we just made up and you want to leave me again?'
Guard briefly closed his eyes and held Mat's nose "You how can I leave you again as I'm going come to you idiot"
Mat smiled "Yeah" he gently held Guard's shirt and pulled him closer "You getting bold"
"You taught me well" Guard said looking in Mat's eyes
Mat knotted "I'm glad I had a good student" Guard smiled "Now what?" Mat asked Guard smiled again and kissed Mat.
I saw them through the window and smiled I turned back and went back to the car I took out my phone and texted Mat (I'll drive back you be with your lover) Then I started the car and drove away as Mat had left the keys in the car Mat and Guard made out on the couch kissing and spooning where else I drove back to the house and went to my room then started typing on my laptop smiling, then in a week where the couple were inseparable and made their relationships official then I held my first exhibition at my gallery which went well and was a success.
(6 months later)
In the morning we all were on the table eating breakfast but I kept on looking at my watch time and again everyone noticed me.
"Naomi you've checked your watch more than ten times since we've been sitting here is there somewhere you need to be?" Mat asked
"Ah no" I replied then ate my cereals in a short while I heard a gate bell "Finally they are here" I quickly got up and ran outside they all looked at me.
"Did she just say THEY?" Grant asked
"Yep" Don whispered
I came holding six gift wrapped boxes "Alright guys I've got gifts for everyone" They all stood up and came to me "For your help with the exhibition"
"Gifts?" Guard asked
"Yeah okay each take one there are no names cause it's the same thing inside" I whispered
"Okay now I'm curious to see what it is" Mat said everyone took their gifts and looked at me smiling.
"Come on guys open them at the same time" I said they opened their gifts and became shocked as they look at me I took a picture of their shocked facial expression I laughed so hard that I couldn't control myself.
"You wrote a book about us" Mat shouted
"Naomi" They all called out to me I stared at them and ran outside they all chased me outside.
"I'm gonna kill you I swear how could you?" Grant said
I kept running around "Oh come on your love story is best seller even you guys know it" I yelled while running from them.
"Let me show you best seller come here" Mat shouted while Guard and Don where laughing "Guys surround her" They all caught and tickled me we all fell on the grass.
I laughed so hard "Okay, okay I'm sorry" They stopped and looked at me "But guys you have to admit it you guys are house-mates lovers" They all knotted their heads and tickled me again.
And that's how the story went as you might have heard before there is a thin line between love and hate my four house-mates hated each other at first but at the end they became lovers.
I went to the gallery and putted the book in the frame stand in the section of LGBTQ photo shoot I did I looked at it then at the big portrait on the wall of Mat, Grant, Don, Guard and me.
