one

A cold and freezing day during a history class that seemed to bore one certain girl at 7 in the morning.

Estelle De Guzman, the class 1-C's most adventurous, passionate, and enthusiastic girl who's into astronomy so much that stargazing thousands of stars had become one of her biggest dreams.

It was pretty simple and easy for most people to say, but not for her.

A girl who's currently living in a winter island well.. not technically a winter island, but that's what they call it. Due to the freezing winter weather and the dark snowy sky that seemed to go on forever. It was called the Winter Island.

It was a funny name that- well.. it was just the word itself.

Back to our girl and her adoration for the stars, the stars were a very big deal to some of the island people, because it wasn't really visible due to the dark winter clouds, of course.

That includes the said adventurous, passionate, and enthusiastic girl we've mentioned earlier.

She have always been yearning to gaze it.

"If only time flies by fast." She groans, visibly finding the current class annoying and boring, even though she's still paying attention to it due to her grade consciousness, adding up her distaste on the current subject.

"And what?" Her best friend raised a brow who's currently sitting next to her as she weirdly stared at the seemingly 'enthusiastic' girl not being in character.

Aurora Phette, the main character's best friend. These two are inseparable. It's crazy how they were friends since they were just on their diapers.

The two were those not so cliche best friends as well, from first glances, people wouldn't really expect the two to be close friends due to their appearances.

Well, as the famous quote quotes, never judge a book by its cover.

"I would already be stargazing right now." Estelle added, eliciting a short sigh before looking at her wristwatch for the nth time this hour.

"Stargazing? You can't even stargaze! There's nothing to stargaze to!" Aurora whispered-yelled as she cautiously looks back at the teacher again, not wanting to get caught.

"You've said that to me many times Aurora and you already know the answer! I stargaze the north star and also! Maybe a magical star appears out of nowhere and what if i missed it? Huh?" Estelle raised a brow competitively to the shorter girl who only ignored her and just continued writing in the textbook that made her elicit a long sigh.

"Aren't you excited about other things? There's so many things to be excited off instead of the night sky, you know?" Aurora then replies with another question as the taller girl snaps her neck towards her.

"This is a small island, what is new?" The said girl rolls her eyes, she was right. It was indeed a small island and new things surely excite them. Although, it's been weeks, or actually months since something new had happened to and inside their island.

Some of it were not so entertaining though.

"That one." Aurora whispers, her mouth slowly parting as she drops her pen confusing the other who looked at the direction her blonde best friend is currently looking at.

Estelle's eyes widened as her eyes were instinctively fixated on a certain blonde haired boy who seemed to be a foreigner introducing himself in front of the class.

Spoke too soon.

"Hello, my name is Viktor Juno Kei and i'm from Osaka, Japan." The said boy bows, showing respect in his own culture as everyone stared at him in bewilderment. Girls who were already gossiping on how unique and gorgeous he looks like while boys at the back ready to tackle him at lunchtime for sports club.

Estelle on the other hand froze, not because of the cold wind breeze that flew inside as soon as the door opene..

..but because of the boy. She froze as she felt like she was glued on her seat. Her eyes started playing on their own where the world started spinning slower and where her classmates around her disappeared.

She was stunned, so stunned in a way that she couldn't exactly say why.

"Everyone welcome our new student! Viktor Juno Kei!" The professor yelled out as everyone then snapped out of their thoughts and so as the tanned girl who finally perked out of her persona.

"Hello, Viktor!"

"Welcome to the island!"

"Nice to see someone from Japan! Bienvenido!"

All those things was too deafening for the certain young astronomer who winced internally by the shouting of the noisy boys from the back asking about what type of sports the blonde foreigner plays.

Although, she can't lie. The blonde boy caught her interest a bit. Seeing such a warm aura roaming throughout the said boy's demeanor, she felt like as if the boy was some kind of stranger she can safely get comfort from.

Due to the blonde boy's wavy soft hair, his pale skin unlike her tan-golden skin, his reddish cheeks and nose that seemed be an aftershock from the freezing temperature outside.

There was no such way she would call him a cold-hearted-japanese-prince. He was ethereal. He looked the complete opposite.

She then snapped out of reality as the creaking noise of chairs rung here and there, seeing her classmates racing towards the blonde foreign boy getting to know him even more as he charmingly smiled at each one of them.

The professor didn't really pay mind.

"That's shocking. I'm glad he isn't talking about rusty spoons right now anymore. I honestly might thank this Japanese boy later." Estelle chuckled to herself as her best friend sent her a funny look.

"It's called ancient spoons, Estelle." Aurora giggled, lightly shoving the said girl's arm away.

=A Few Moments Later= (insert that spongebob voice sound)

"This introduction just swallowed the whole history class and i still don't find it amusing." The tanned girl groans loudly, although her groans didn't really surpass the noises of her classmates. but she was still thankful at least, the blonde-japanese boy's introduction just decreased the time of the History Class, that will surely give her less time to wait for the bell to ring.

"Oh shut up, it's almost break time anyway! Next thing you'll know we're already walking home." Aurora states before rolling her eyes due to the said girl's never ending groans.

As if on cue, the bell rang as the two sighs in relief quickly shoving their things on their bag while the young tanned girl impatiently ran out of the classroom.

"Don't you think that's too disrespectful?!" Aurora screams out at the young astronomer who stopped, waiting for the blonde to catch up as she did.

"I don't think so." Estelle shook her head reassuringly looking over the classroom as her other classmates sprinted out like wild animals. "Now, come on! Let's go eat! I'm starving!" She added, grabbing the other's wrist as they sprinted to the cafeteria.

"Slow down!"

"Wait-!"

The young astronomer stops on her tracks as her attention was suddenly all over the vending machine at the side of the hallways.

"Actually, how about you head on first.. i'll catch up." Estelle trailed out before taking out a coin, Aurora sighs, shaking her head before making her way towards the cafeteria.

The tan skin girl fumbles on the copper coin in her fingers as she decides on which drink she will pick for today, her fingers traced the lettering on the vending machine portions as a pair of footsteps interrupted her.

Her head unknowingly inclined towards the direction of the footsteps to see the certain blonde foreigner making his way upstairs to where the school's rooftop is located.

Estelle furrowed her brows as it dropped as soon as she realized that the boy just newly moved here.

"I wouldn't go there if i were you." She muttered but loud enough for the boy to hear as her head whipped back to the vending machine inserting a copper coin pushing the button of her picked drink.

"Why so?" The voice of the boy rung through her ear as she froze, hearing such a new gentle and warm voice with a different surreal accent excited her to hear more.

"Just because." She remarked, crouching to get her drink as she turns back to the blonde-japanese-foreign boy. "The weather is too cold for that door to open, next thing you'll know you'll be flying with the chickadees." She joked before clicking the soda can open as it elicited a small hiss, bubbles started forming out of the hole.

"You mean windy?" The boy confusingly asked as he furrows his brows. "I am dreadfully sorry. English isn't my first language, you see." He muttered as his broad shoulders dropped in a relaxed manner.

"It's okay. Speaks a lot about why you speak so professionally." The girl rejoiced before taking a sip of her drink. "Drop the formalities and honorifics. We're probably the same age." She shook her head reassuringly.

The blonde hesitantly nods.

"Want me to show you where we eat? It's more warm and livelier there."
