#8: The First Bridal Lesson

The next day, when I got up, My head felt as though it would split into many pieces.. The pain made me feel crazy. The most painful thing was.. Being here. The mirror world, whether in Elf Kindom or the Rune Empire, I was only going to be caged and rot in the room assigned to me.

The people here were fine and good, but it didn't mean my fear was easily gone. I was a representative of Rune. And not Amber. If Leo doesn't love me. Disposal of me is the best choice. I am sure the parents wouldn't bat an eye if I was taken to be hanged, They only love their son and respect his decisions.

I was way more alone here. At least back home I had Daisy. Here.. Leo, who is sort of like a person with dual personality.

Last night's memories seemed unreal to me, like it was a dream.

The maids soon came in and helped me dress up, Today I was made to wear a similar styled dress.

My hair was tied up in a bun. With a hair clip attached.

I came out of my room and had a rendezvous with Leo, who was kind now, His blonde hair attracting my hands. His eyes were kind and he spoke with sincere emotions.

"Did you sleep well, Amber? ",

" Yes. " I said, we both acted like last night didn't happen at all. I had a weird tingle at my neck the same spot where he had kissed.

"Well, come let's go have breakfast, I am famished. " he said and we walked hand in hand towards the Hall. On the way he explained about his position in palace and how it was tiring at times.

He even cracked a few jokes. I laughed, this Leo was better.

During the breakfast, his parents informed that they would be going to a city near the border for a trip, and we could be lovey dovey.

I thought to Inform that we were only engaged, but they were in their own world.

In the afternoon, they left. Leo too had gone to the palace and said he would return home late.

It was boring to be left alone, I could not go anywhere as I never knew this place, So, I just went into Leo's room.

The books were removed from the desk. The history book was only left. I tried searching but couldn't find the book titled, 'The secret of Elves. '

Disappointed, I came out and saw, the head maid of the place, the one who hated me from the moment I came here stood in front of me.

"Yes, Do you have something to say? ", I asked.

" Princess, You are late for your first bridal lesson. ", She said with a forced smile.

" Oh.. Alright. Let's go and we can start immediately. ", I said. 'Bridal lesson?', weren't they ancient laws for brides? Well, It could just be an introductory class about the history of the Silas family.

they all led me to a big Hall, and later closed the curtains, there were only a few maids. The head maid, a junior butler and two handmaids of Madam.

I sat down and asked them to begin. The head maid went around and took some books.

She asked me to get up, and remove my boots.

I stood and she placed the books on my head. I stood perfectly still, I already took poise classes many times. I was an ace, I could balance a dozen books on my head, walk and not drop it.

This was going to be a breeze.

I was asked to go and stand in the centre of the room from here. I went walking and suddenly the head maid hit my legs. I fell down.

It was by a whip, that too my own whip. I looked at my legs, they were bleeding already.

"What is this? ", I demanded.

" Your first bridal lesson, take your punishment even if you deserve it or not. ", She said smiling.

" That is not a bridal lesson is it? ", I asked.

" I was not the one who made it. ", She said.

I was made to get up, balance the books and whipped a 10 times.

I lost a lot of blood. I was dizzy, I needed blood. I was on the ground. The head maid came and asked me to beg her.

I knew where she was going.

If I begged her, she would have a sense of satisfaction and if I didn't I would just get tempted and bite her, from then she could just claim I was a monster without any control.

I stayed calm and thought about nanny. I began thinking of her tucking me in bed. That this pain was just a dream and I was asleep but my body was going on impulse mood. If I wouldn't drink blood willingly my body would just move on its own and kill one of the maids and drink their blood.

I put everything on trying to sleep. But the maid took it too far. She took a knife and pierced my feet. Both of them. My legs began bleeding in more faster way.

"Princess, don't you want blood? Why not beg? hmm? ", She said, the other maids behind her smiling like demons. The head maid pointed at her bare neck asking me to have a go.

" Never. ", I said. breathing quite heavily.

My chest felt hollow and cold. It was soon. I would soon become a crazed beast, the form I despise the most. My fangs began stinging. I could feel that they wanted to sink into someone's warm flesh and taste the blood flowing through their veins

Me thinking about this didn't help my condition. I was getting tired and losing consciousness, Suddenly the door opened and I saw Leo.

Trust me, I never felt that happy while seeing someone, Not even nanny. I don't know how I could walk, but I went and put my arms around him and bit him through his clothes. My fangs went in quite smoothly.

He fell down and was shivering a bit. I held his hand and sunk my fangs a bit deeper. The taste felt familiar but I was too immersed to think about anything.

He hugged me and clung onto me. After a while, I got up and saw him. He was full red. His ears were too much red. Did I release too much of aphrodisiac from my teeth?.. I saw down...ah....

I got up from him and my legs were being healed up. The butler came in and bandaged my legs.

The maids tried running away but a familiar face caught him. It was Fang??

I leant back on a couch trying to breath well even Nyxus was here too. Nyxus came and just held me. After wards he put a hand on my head and got up.

The head maid was trembling, Leo, Fang and the most scariest Nyxus all of them were cornering her.

"Leo Silas, I don't care to know what you were doing, but what the hell is this? How dare a vampire Royal heir's blood spill like this? ", He asked Leo.

"Punishment, a Cruel one.", Fang said as he glared back at the head maid and showed a dramatic sign of moving his finger across his neck.

"Head Maid, you care to explain this?", asked Leo quite angry.

"I...I was just .. I am sorry, please forgive me! I don't know what came over me!", she began kneeling down and begging.

"I trusted you all these years, left my home under your care but this is your treatment? I guess we mustn't really trust anyone?.. Guards take her away and chain her in the prison.", Leo said.

"Leo Silas, One day my sister stayed here and this is the outcome, how about you just call off this stuff, being in love is not an excuse for putting your loved one in pain.", Nyxus said holding my hand.

"My, I never knew her brothers actually cared so much for her, that they could enter another kingdom, without any sort of permission.", Leo added.

"Dagger had spell, anytime used, calls me.", Fang said.

"And I was the only one who could cover large distances in a second so.", Nyxus said.

"It's fine now, I am here.", Leo completely ignored my brothers and hugged me.

I was too dazed to know what is going on. The dagger had magic? I didn't even notice it at all.

"Amber, I guess you should just take some rest. ok? We will go back now. If anything, just hit the back of this locket three times and I will come immediately.", Nyxus said. putting the locket around my neck. It was dark red crystal made with a gold chain.

It was a very kind gesture, Had he gone mad? Why the sudden kindness? Does the locket have some kind of camera for him to spy on these elves? I was going crazy with these new developments.

I was excused and I went back to my room as Leo and Nyxus were arguing over something, Fang sat and was eating some pastries, I don't know from where he got it though.

The room was cold and I sat on the bed. A maid soon came in to change my bandages. It hurt a bit as she even applied a kind of medicine and she went back.

I laid down with my feet dangling out of the bed, staring at the ceiling. How Long? Just how long must I be on the edge, the second I take a breather, I end up being hurt, betrayed or abandoned.

I should really run away... Tomorrow?...

I got up and checked all the gifts, the necklace, the map, the sword, all for any sort of tracking or protection magic just like the one Fang gave me.

There were none, but I still did a nullifying magic spell on them and considered taking the necklace, the poison and antidote and the sword.

I don't know what currency the humans use, here in mirror world it's Klad, Chur and Hul. Weird names.

Klad is kind of universal.. but Chur and Hul are mainly used by werewolves..

The humans would definitely wish to exchange the jewelry to money? Well let's see. If I ever meet a creep or a dangerous one, I must stay vigil.

Though I am sure there are no Vampire Hunters. But now, I heard silver is quite famous. Many could actually possess it.

I packed everything I could, my clothes, the pen, the journal, some gold items(just in case), the little mermaid, the card of nanny's son, some bandages and medicines.

I wore the necklace once which Zane gave.. But it was too much eye catching, I just put it in my bag. I took the antidote and poison in case I come across anyone strange. I packed it up and kept in under my bed.

I saw the perfume which I left out. I got curious and sprayed a bit of it on my left wrist. It was good. It felt fresh and rosy. I just sprayed it all over me.

This kind of smell helped me not think. I put in inside my bag. The scent was nice. I just laid on the bed. The door opened..

It was Leo.

"Hey how are.. you..? ", He asked.

" I am fine.. What's wrong? ", I asked as he looked a bit weird.

" Nothing, what is this smell? ", he asked slowly backing away.

" What smell? ", I sniffed and only could smell my sister's perfume.

" I w.. will talk later. ", he said running away.

Was it a hallucination? I don't know but I felt as though his beautiful blond hair suddenly turned silver?

I got up to close my rooms door which he didn't close while leaving in hurry, From my door I saw him, he was gasping as he took out the lock on his door and went in before I could ask anything. He slammed his door shut and locked it.

What happened?..
