#17: A Chance to Meet Mr.Sterling

*****Amber's P. O. V*****

I am human?

I knew it. Deep in my bones, that I had lost all my magic, my fangs, everything which made me a vampire. And if that was not enough, my memories were going hazier. Hazier by each second. I forgot my name. I only remember my name to be Amber. I was loosing all my memories.

I wished for it to happen... I wished that I wanted to be human... but not like this. Not now. I just couldn't contain my fear and despair that I shouted and cried holding my head, begging myself to not forget. Not the precious moments of my life.

My shouting called the nurses and Mr. Storm. They made Jade go away to another room, and the nurses were asking about my name and age as they checked my pulse and all other things.

"Miss Amber? Are you fine? Do you know where you are? " one asked.

"Y.. yes in a hospital. ", I said wearily, as drops from eyes fell on my bluish dress.

" Oh, so you do remember. Well, tell me what you are feeling so we can help you. ", she asked calmly

" I... I.. um.. " I was unable to answer.

"Would you like a sleeping medicine? Do you have a headache? ", she asked.

" No... I am alright, I just panicked... I am sorry. ", I said.

" My dear no need to apologize, here use this paper bag to breathe. Breathe slowly. ", she said giving me a paper bag, while she too had one with her. She breathed through it and showed me how. I continued doing it till I was calmer. That paper bag really helped.

" Thank you. ", I said.

" Your welcome, now tell me do you feel uneasy anywhere else? ", she asked.

" Um, no. Thank you ", I said.

" So, hello , Let's see how are you. ", the doctor came in and began checking some papers which the nurse had given her. She looked at me once again.

" So, your arm got a 2-inch deep cut. We stitched up the area and it looks good so far. Do you have any difficulty, like losing sensation or can't feel your arm? ", She asked.

" No it's fine, I just feel breathless. ", I said.

" Hmm, it's probably the trauma. I can suggest you therapy. But remember no therapy is better than being brave and loving yourself. You are safe now. You are strong. Remember that. Ok? ", She asked me.

" Yes. I will thank you ", I said. The doctor and nurse nodded and left

" I am sorry, Amber, The attack was probably directed towards me but you got hurt. ", Mr. Storm said glumly.

" No, it was just wrong place and wrong time but sir could I ask for something? ", I asked.

" Yes, what? ", he looked up, finally, and locked eyes with mine. his eyes showed guilt clearly.

"I would like to ...write a diary. So, a pen and a book? ", I asked.

" Yes, just a second. ... ", he took out his phone and called someone, " Get me a good book and two pens. now. ", he said.

" Thank you. And if you don't mind, I would like to be alone for a while, please don't let Jade meet me too. Just for the rest of the day. ", I said. I can't look Jade in the eye... not anymore.

" Yes. I will, but will you eat something?", He came nearby and opened a box of chocolates beside the flowers and he fed me one.

"Yumm.. it's quite good. ", I said. Chocolate really helps. The slight bitter taste somehow was reminding me of my sadness and anger aand at the same time washing away all sadness.

A guy came in with a book and pens in his hand aand gave it to Mr. Storm and left. He came towards me and sat near me. He gave it to me and said,"Mr.Sterling is a busy man. He may or may not come. But the chance is high he is coming to the International Meet this month. On the 21st. That is in three days. ", he said.

" This month?", I asked.

"Yes, September 21st, is the International Meet. All the wealthy and moneybags... I mean rich people meet. And so it happens I am invited. I can bring only one extra. So, I can get you along with me. ", he said.

" Yes, Thank you! That much is enough! ", I said.

" Yes. So, I hope you recover by then. ", he said. And soon left.

I took out the diary and quickly wrote the very little things I remember. First, I was a vampire. Jade's blood turned me human. Second, I ran away from home. I had many siblings. I have a friend whose name is Case. Third, I am searching for my nanny who is in human world, the only clue, Mr. Sterling. Fourth, I have a relationship with Elf, named Leo, I don't know if it's a romantic one or just a friend thing. But something was there. I only remember a hazy face, with long blond hair and silverish blue eyes. Something did tell me that the memory was wrong. But I couldn't point out what exactly was wrong.

Next, I have a fellow companion who is also acting as my brother. He is Jade.

The rest were all hazy. It was there. But I couldn't access it. Like it was locked. The feeling around my mouth with the lack of fangs felt weird, like I lost teeth. I jotted down a few more points of what all I remember, but I forgot something, why was I even searching for my nanny? and what was little mermaid? I couldn't remember it. And very much soon, I lost even those fragments, which only left me one single memory, that my name was Amber. I don't even remember my last name. I had memories of what happened after we met Mr. Storm, about me and Jade, that we both were runaways. But there were some werewolves? I could remember it only a bit.

I couldn't help but cry, I lost my memories and who I was. I had some random names hover in my mind, some daisy, bella... silas? Luna? Bellatrix? I was tired and soon fell asleep as the sun began setting. The sun appeared red and orange like a fruit as it set, the whole sky was like a mixture of colors, it held onto the reddish hue but did have a bit bluish purple in the corner. It looked too beautiful to be real.

Everyday many just walk past the sunset but very few just spend time to look and be mesmerized by it. Well... they might be busy. But... As I stared at it, I could feel myself be fresh and relaxed. As it set completely, I saw the purple-lavender hue which was just... awesome? fantastic? I can't describe it well. That hue of the sky, just felt like resting on the lap of mother. But I felt foreign, like I never slept on my mother's lap. Strange. But it did help me sleep.

As I slept I dreamt of a strange thing, that I was walking over a garden, stained with red blood and in middle of it all, I saw myself. My hands with blood, my head adorned with thorns and my eyes a deep shade of red. My eyes looked lifeless and pale. Behind me, a man, whose hair was silver, with the same eyes as Leo from my memories, silverish blue ones. He came forwards and hugged me, begging me to stop. But I didn't, and I pierced him. While being pierced too, he smiled. He just mouthed, I love you.

The me, who was stained in blood of this man, looked shaken but not enough. I still had dark eyes, with no sign of calmth, nor a bit of pity or guilt. I turned and kept walking around the whole bloody scene. With the last bit being me piercing myself in front of a pure white marble statue of a lady. I stabbed myself, letting my blood stain the lady's statue.

This made me get up. It was a bit scary. I looked at the time, it was 7, in the morning. I was greeted by the nurses, who checked my arm, they took out the stitched saying it had healed completely. I looked at my arm and saw, it had healed except for a brownish scar.

"It will heal with time. ", they said.

" Yes. It actually doesn't matter. ", I said.

" Well, as you wish. ", They said and left.

I was dicharged around the afternoon. And I saw Jade in the car. He sat beside me. He looked too sad. I wanted to be angry at him. But I could not. Seeing that expression of his.

I was given a chocolate milkshake and Jade got a vanilla one. Mr. Storm took us out on a tour around the city, we saw various cool stuff. And The one which left me shocking was the museum. Somehow it just attracted my attention.

"Well the museums closed now It only is open from Monday to Friday. Saturdays are half days so they leave. I can take you soon. If you want.",he said.

" Maybe I will... but later. ", I said and dozed off on our way back to the mansion.

"We are here. ", Jade said and we got down. The whole mansion was repaired and there were more security cameras.

" The security is more tighter now. And, many guards are stationed here. So, don't worry about it. I will meet you guys later. I have some work left so, I will be at the office. ", he said

" Yes, Mr. Storm. ", I said.

"Caesar... is okay. Mr. Storm kind of feels like an employee-employer thing. ", he said.

" So.. Uncle Caesar? ",

" No... Caesar is good. Uncle makes me realize my age. ", he smiled and left.

" Amber? Amber? ", Jade called out to me. .

" Yes? ", I asked

" Are you angry? That I made you human? ", he asked.

" No I am not, I am not understanding anything.", I replied vaguely. But I knew it, I wanted to be a vampire. Being something I am not makes me feel nauseous. I wasn't angry at Jade, I was till yesterday but, it was not like I never wished for being human.

"After a month you will be a vampire again. Don't worry. ", he said.

" What? Really? ", I asked.

" Yes, if you take a drop of my blood every day, for a whole year, then the change will be permanent. ", he said.

" But how do you know about it? ", I asked.

" I just know. So.. please don't be angry. ", He said hugging me.

"I am not. ", I said.

Together we had dinner and saw a movie. And another movie after that, we started star Wars franchise. Then I went to sleep. But I couldn't, the same dream haunted me. I woke up huffing and puffing at 2am. I drank a lot of water and just hugged a pillow as I slept. I missed home. Even though I don't remember it.

I hugged myself and cried silently with my memories as blank as ever. My tears made the pillow wet, but that slightly calmed me down.

According to Jade, I may turn back to normal in a month. But it's too long. A whole 30 days. I just want my memories back. I feel like I have lost something very precious something which kept me going on... without just ending my own life.

Next day, I went with Caesar to get myself a good formal attire and we decided on dressing similarly. He wanted to wear blue. I too wore a blue dress, though I felt it might not suit me. Surprisingly, it looked good.

Then came the fateful day... The day I meet Mr. Sterling.

We boarded a flight to get to the place it was being hosted. It was hosted in Italy. There we were led to the banquet Hall. The Whole place was filled with classy looking people, all whose appearance spelled the word, Rich. All were quite busy. I was left alone as Mr. Storm had to meet with some people in the meeting room. All people here were the extra, the companions of the guests.

They were only serving wine, which I knew I must not drink. Though I actually can... I had a small cupcake from the counter and just stood around a corner. Then I heard a familiar voice arguing for a milkshake

I ignored it. It can't be... Again, the voice shouted, 'I want a milkshake!' .... I turned and yes, the young Jade decided to crash.. Don't know how but here he was. He was wearing a small suit though. I came towards him and apologized for the inconvenience and pulled him aside.

"Jade?? What are you even doing here? No... how did you even come here? ", I asked.

" Mommy... don't scold me. ", he put on teart eyes and all turned, to see the 'mother' who was scolding her son.

" I am not your mommy! And... just answer me. ", I said.

" I am sorry mommy, I just missed you and I heard Daddy is gonna be here so I followed you here. ", He said. And all the people around began a gossip chain and created marvellous stories on how I am a young misunderstood mother and a wife of a super rich guy, who is stuck between her husband and son, Haha.. Nice story though.

I took him to a corner and tried to make him stop from calling me mommy.

" Don't call me mommy outside.. Got it? ", I asked for the hundredth time.

" Yes got it Mommy! ", he replied with more confidence.

" Ugh. dude.. just don't call me mommy! ", I tried the chill technique

" Yes, mommy. ", he said

" Well, let's just ignore it. ", I said, Before another story is created on a cruel mother who doesn't let her children call her mother.

I was about to get myself another cupcake, so I took Jade to a corner asked him to wait there. And went for another cupcake, I ended up taking two one for Jade too, and I went towards him. He took it immediately and ate in a single bite.

The doors opened and all the rich entered. Including Mr. Storm. It was here when I realized, that Caesar, was actually the second most richest person alive. He was quite cool talking to the media while entering the banquet Hall and he called me beside him.

I came with Jade holding my hand. This was gonna be a good material for newspapers. Caesar was surprised seeing Jade, but Jade convinced him with puppy eyes.

"Let me guess, he followed you? ", he asked.

" Yes. I am so sorry , I don't even know how he passed through the security and all. ", I tried explaining.

" It's not a problem. I am sure he might have felt lonely with out you. I don't mind at all. I myself was very clingy to my sister. ", he said ruffling through Jade's blond hair.

" ohk? ", I just stood beside him, searching for Mr. Sterling. But the crowd was huge, many would not let us pass, all wanted to have a word with him, even the president. Caesar was really popular..

Jade then took this party as a playground and ran between long skirts and rich men. He ran so fast that I too had to run to catch up.

When I finally caught up, I accidentally hit someone, I had stumbled and hit my face to their shoulder. A tall person. I raised my eyes and saw, a handome man, looking at me, he had blue eyes ans striking silver hair, not an old guy, but a young one. He looked handome and familiar...

"Leo?.... ", I mumbled and his eyes widened.

" Who?.... ", he asked.

"Daddy! ", Jade screamed hugging this silver haired individual.

He looked similar, but where.. though he reminds me of Leo, his face was similar to.... ah! that guy who says I love you in my dreams....

" Daddy? ", He asked, holding Jade.

" Yes, Daddy! ", Jade replied and all the crowd began gossiping.

That I was married to Caesar but I have a kid with this guy. What a twist! They were expecting drama. But a guy, I think a secretary of this silver hair guy. Came forward and blocked his boss, from even looking at us, he had a scowl on his face.

"Excuse me? May I know who you are? ", the secretary asked.

" Um.. She is my partner for tonight! ", A voice came from the crowd, and it was Caesar. I was really happy to see him, the secretary looked like a lion and I his meal.

" Your.. partner? ", the secretary looked dumbstruck.

" Yes, they are my.... date and her family.. ", he said. Winking at me follow suit.

" Well, Yes, I am his date. Let's go Caesar we have work to do.. right? ", I said. Caesar was asking God to forgive him for his lie.

" Yes. Jade? Lets go, apologize to Mr. Wulfric for hugging him without his permission. ", He said sternly.

" Yes,... Old man, I will apologize to Mr. Wulfric... I am sorry.. ", he said with a pouty face

" I am not an old man! ", Caesar said. And Jade and I giggled.

This was irritating the secretary who clenched his fist. Mr. Wulfric, the silver haired one, came forward, his eyes as wide as ever and asked my name

" Your name, Miss? ", he asked.

" A-... Amber. ", I said. He froze, He blinked twice. and was about to say something but he decided not to and just hugged me.... out of the blue.

"Excuse Me? This is a bit rude? ", I was shocked.

" Wait a second. ", I broke the hug.

But he decided not to, he lifted my head with his finger and pressed his lips softly against mine. He whispered the words, " Found you... Finally ". And there I lost my first kiss..
