#26: Just Great

"Um... ", I awkwardly sat right and looked down, it was way awkward and slightly scary. Luan just stared at them without arranging himself.

"Did we come in a wrong time? ", The king asked, looking at his naked brother.

" Yes", Luan said.

"Who are you! ", The Queen demanded.

" She is the prisoner, the vampire hostage! ", The General answered for me.

" Yes, I am the Vampire hostage who was stupid and couldn't escape. ", I said. staring straight at the Queen.

" Well, I would love to leave you guys talking but, I would like to wear clothes, So, please wait out. And, ...Freya! Hold onto our dear vampire, would you? ", Luan interrupted, as he finally got up, with the bedsheet wrapped around him like a tunic( how did he do it in a second?? I need to ask him!).

And, a maid, who I think is Freya came, and held me by my elbows. She was quite strong I must add. The whole family and the general who was scowling at me exited and I was taken to a corner of the room.

" Am I not allowed to go out? ", I asked.

" You are dangerous, and may try to escape. " He said.

"Yea... I am so dangerous! What about the palace! it is totally bordered by silver! I can't go anywhere! ", I said as I heard the ruffling of clothes, Luan dresses by himself? no servant helps? Strange...

" Wow, you are one dumb vampire, oh sorry, all vampires are dumb.. ", He mumbled and came in front of me.

He was dressed completely, but his hair was still ruffled like he grew chickens on his head. He just took his fingers and brushed his hair slightly. Which annoyed me but I stayed calm. I just looked down. What is going on? What's next? Execution?

" Come, let's have breakfast, I am sure you're hungry. ", He said as he let Freya leave me. Freya quietly went back.

" Yes.. ", I tried staying calm. My life was messed up anyway. When life is a mess, your goal must be to just survive till tomorrow... that's all..

The second we came out, The Queen was highly displeased by my presence, with her scowl matching that of general Selena Francis, yes, I remember her name, she left quite an impression on me. She just gave off main character vibes.

The king on the other hand looked at me as though it was normal to see prisoners who were supposed to be chained to be in the same room in close proximity to his naked brother. Who knows, it might just be true.

As I followed Luan, I approached a main room, totally bordered with silver, it had an old appearance and I could see a blood stain, a very old one, but pretty powerful one. I flinched at the sight of the silver and walked to the other side. The guards and all were certainly displeased with my appearance. I wonder why there is such displeasure, for a silly misunderstanding which happened almost a millenia ago, why are they still so bitter?

I just looked down, it would be better not to look attack all. As the path to the dining hall was quite long, my mind just drifted to Jade. I grew a lot close with that guy.. But where was he? Did Luan send him to his parents? is he in the human world? where?

"Welcome, Your Majesties. ", The doorman said as he opened the door to a lavish dining room.

" I shall go check the guards at the tower. And see as to how they didn't check our hostage's conditions. ", The general said and left. I kind of didn't want her to go. She seemed way interesting and cool. Maybe if I weren't a vampire, we could be friends..

" Yes, you may. ", The Queen replied. The king just nodded. And all of us came to the table, The King sat down, and strangely, unlike vampires, who have the king sitting at the head of the table, this dining table had two chairs at the head of the table. The King and Queen, I think.

" Amber, please sit beside me. ", The king said.

" WHY? ", Luan asked a bit rude and loudly..

" I have to talk to you. ", The King said and just smiled at me, ignoring Luan.

" Tch. " The Queen mumbled and sat to the right of the King beside him, in the second chair. As I thought Werewolves really respect King and Queen as equals.

"Yes", I said as I sat down at the nearest corner of the table, Luan came to sit beside me, but the Queen directed him to sit beside her by her eyes. So, he just sat beside her, opposite to me.

" So, You are no more a princess. ? ", The King asked.

" Yes. ", I replied.

"And, you are now a vampire of commoner origin? . ", He asked.

" Yes. ", I said.

" So, I think you are curious as to why we are still holding onto you instead of just beheading you. ", He said.

" you might just want the details of entry to the Palace, the weaponry and the detailed structure of defence. ", I said. Because except that there is no reason, why I must be kept alive.

" No, that's not it. We already know the defence gaps, the entire war management, even the salaries of the stable boys in the palace. ", He said and the food was being served.

" Then why? ", I asked, now I was really curious.. if they knew it already.. why haven't they attacked us already? Are they waiting to gather more strength?

" You are being hunted. ", He said.

" Hunted? ", I asked.

" By your family, I mean your former family. ", He said.

" The Rune Family? But why? ", I asked.

" Our spy tells it is due to your knowledge of the defence structure. ", He said.

" Yes, it could be.. ", I answered. I couldn't believe it. I know I wasn't loved, but the fact that I am on the kill list, hurt me. I gave up my identity as their family, instead of asking me why, they want to get rid of me? Just because I know the defence structure?

" But I feel that is not all. ", The king said.

" Not all? What do you mean Titan? ", The Queen asked.

" I think the Rune family knows something, about you... it's just a hunch, but I think it's related to the angel you told us about. ", He said

" Angel?! ", The Queen shrieked.

" Yes.. ", The king affirmed. The Queen suddenly got up and looked nauseous. She was held by a maid and calmed down. The Queen looked like she was having a panic attack. As though she forgot to breathe. And seeing that The King didn't flinch a bit showed that this was a common occurrence.

" Breathe, Slowly. ", He said holding her hand.

" I.. I am fine... ", She said and sat down regaining her regal composure, so perfect, as though her panicking never happened. She gave me a scowl as the king began talking.

" The angel you speak of, is terribly powerful, and I think she has her own limits, due to that reason she couldn't follow you till here. But her malice towards the mirror world creatures is true. My men have gone and confirmed strange and unknown magical activities in the human world... It could all be her.. ", He said.

" Yes... ", I said

" So, stay here, until we get clear information, you are to train and live among us like a hostage, though you are an enemy whom all of us consider to be worse than a bug, we must unite in order to stop the upcoming threat. I shall try to get more clear and confirmed information so that the others too can support us. I feel... the upcoming threat is real... and that we have little time to prepare. ", He said.

" Yes, King. ", I said and I finally began eating, the dishes were a mix of meat and vegetables, there was blood served too, the cutlery were made up of steel and the plate without any sort of silver design like the ones used by Luan and The Royals.

As I had a sip of blood, I could feel relaxed. The extreme hunger of mine was finally being satisfied. I drank a lot of blood, I even wanted extras, I was served blood without hesitation.

"Could I ask for a favor", I asked.

" Yes, ", He said.

" I want to know what happened to jade and Leo Silas, both of them are elves... ", I said.

" Jade is fine... I sent him to his parents. ", Luan replied without looking up.

" Oh Thank God! ", I exclaimed.

" Why Leo Silas? ", The Queen asked.

" Well, he was my fiancee, we are engaged you see... I just want to know.. what is he doing... elves only marry one you see and are quite worried about their partner, so I wanted to know what he is doing... ", I said.

" You... are engaged?!! To Leo Silas?!!!", The Queen exclaimed and looked at the King and Luan as though the question was directed to them.

"Yes... I know.. vampire and elf, different races, but I do like Leo, and... we are to marry within a year, the magic bond is like that... ", I said slightly feeling awkward. To this, Luan was blushing a few degrees and the Queen too was Blushing? or angry her face was red and she was scowling... The king began coughing...

"What the hell?! ", The Queen exclaimed once again and just stared at me.

" Umm... Let's just continue our meal. ", The king said.

" Fine! ", The Queen sat down and ate.

" I shall let you know about Leo Silas, Amber. ", King Titan said.

" Yes, Thank you... If I could write a letter or something also, it's ok!", I said.

"Yes, of course. ", He said and the meal continued with an awkward silence.
