Chapter 115: Evolution

"After seeing the stats on my Eevee, I think I'll go with...a Jolteon. I can see mine is quite a bit faster than yours and Serena's. Among Eevee's evolutions, Jolteon is by far the fastest. That way, I can make use of Eevee's speed.", Lillie said, deciding on Jolteon. After saying that, Lillie ruffled through Eevee's fur, to which it enjoyed her warm hand.

"Vee~", Eevee responded happily.

Hearing Lillie say that, Serena and I nodded our heads.

"I'm surprised you were able to make a decision so quickly, Lillie. Taking into consideration that you have yet to evolve Snowy and Clefairy for that matter.", Serena replied with a smile.

"Well, Lillie's Clefairy is a bit special, considering its making use of the Eviolite that I purchased, but I won't be against you should you decide to evolve your Clefairy too, Lillie.", I also said.

"Yeah. If that time comes, I will decide to evolve my Clefairy then. But for now, we have these three cute Eevee that are needing to evolve, the sooner the better as you said, Itsuki. Isn't that right, Eevee?", Lillie responded with a smile.

"Eevee!", Lillie's Eevee happily responded.

"Haha. I guess I should take these out, huh?", I decided to say, which drew Serena's and Lillie's attention back my way once I started to rummage around in my bag again.

I pulled out a Moon Stone, a Thunder Stone, some berries that my Eevee liked specifically, as well as what appeared to be a piece of candy wrapped in a blue wrapper.

That's right, this was a Rare Candy. To my surprise, they actually existed in this world I was brought to. However, not only were they super expensive and rare to get a hands on, they are one of Pokemon's richest tastes one could experience. From what I could find out, a Rare Candy is very sweet and filling, and it was bad to give multiple at the same time, to which could harm a Pokemon's well being.

In short it was one of those luxury goods, a delicacy if you will.

I am sure there are those out there that abuse these, and I have seen reports to where a Pokemon would die should they consume too many at once, likely due to the sudden boost in power. Or alternatively, they would immediately ignore their Trainer, and directly attack the Trainer instead, killing them in the process.

Such a thing can be quite scary so not many people use Rare Candy. I was able to pick one up during my shopping back at Celadon, but it wad pretty expensive.

Seeing me bring out these items, I gently placed them on the ground, not too far away from the three Eevee. Lillie was immediately drawn to the Moon Stone.

"Did you sneak out another Moon Stone from Mount Moon, Itsuki? I thought you only obtained one for my Clefairy should I need it and one for Serena's Nidorina...", Lillie asked.

"What can I say? Celadon's market is largely available for most goods. I had to do some digging to find both this Rare Candy and another Moon Stone though.", I said. I was indeed able to stock up on a lot of goods during that couple days of rest. It's not like I sat there idly while Serena was recovering.

"Thank you, Itsuki. But I do want to know why a Moon Stone? The one I'm going with is definitely an Umbreon. But don't they absorb the moonlight energy directly into their bodies under the moon, and evolve when their happiness reaches a certain point?", Serena asked, confused.

"That's the most common situation to evolve Umbreon, and likewise, using sunlight and happiness to evolve an Eevee into an Espeon. But what people mostly don't know is these stones contain a much richer and pure energy related to its type. Moon Stones are able to prompt an evolution right away for Eevee, likewise using a Sun Stone for Espeon. Unfortunately for me, there is not a known stone to contain fairy type energy, so I have to go the common route. Thankfully in Sylveon's scenario, you just need to meet the requirement of knowing a Fairy type move, and some training. Or in my case, with this Rare Candy right here.", I said, finishing the explanation of how Eevee worked to Serena and Lillie.

"Wow, so such a method existed after all. I'm guessing it's mostly known in the Professor circle to help with their studies and theories. Even I wouldn't want to waste time trying train one of my Pokemon to evolve if I I knew such a method existed. The other way wastes so much time.", Lillie said, in amazement.

"Right? Which is why I didn't mind telling you two. It was Gramps who told me about this way.", I responded.

"Teehee, we'll have to thank Professor Oak later then. Why don't we evolve our Eevee now?", Serena asked as she giggled.

*That we can.", I said, only for Serena to take her Moon Sone and Lillie her Thunder stone. As for me, I unwrapped the Rare Candy, and placed it on the floor in front of where my shiny Eevee stood. Seeing the Rare Candy confused Eevee for a moment, but it quickly spotted the berries it liked next to the Rare Candy, and it jumped at the food, digging in.

"Vee!", Eevee happily said as it began to hungrily scarf down the food in front of it, despite being hatched a few moments ago.

"I guess we are next. Does this interest you, Azure?", Serena asked her Eevee. The moment Serena's Eevee heard that, it tilted its head a bit, confused.

"Eevee?", Eevee tried to ask Serena, to which she giggled again.

"It's your new name. Do you like it?", Serena decided to ask her Eevee. Eevee thought for a brief moment, to happily nod back at her.

"Vee!", Eevee answered happily. Hearing its new name, Serena's Eevee hopped toward the Moon Stone, and pressed its paw against it. Sure enough, after a moment, Eevee's body started to glow after it started absorbing the moon's energy from the Moon Stone.

Seeing Serena's Eevee start evolving, Lillie looked toward hers.

"I guess you're up then. How about I call you Sparkie?", Lillie decided to ask, looking at her Eevee. Lillie's Eevee took a moment before it nodded it's head.

"Eevee.", Lillie's Eevee responded, acknowledging Lillie, which brought her to a smile. Hearing its new name, Lillie's Eevee walked toward the Thunder Stone, and placed its paw on top of it. Just like with Serena's, Lillie's Eevee started to have a glow up too, letting its figure distort and grow as the the light grew brighter.

As for mine, my Eevee finished its berries in no time, and gulped the Rare Candy in one go. Feeling a burst of energy rush forth, Eevee started to run around a little bit, before I saw its body start glowing.

In succession, Serena's Eevee finished evolving first, then Lillie's and then mine. The glowing ended as well, revealing three new figures, who were each bigger and taller.

"Umbreon."

"Jolteon!"

"Sylveon!"

Three evolutions of Eevee appeared before our every eyes. Serena now had an Umbreon. Lillie now had a Jolteon, and me a Sylveon. I also took this time to get their individual readings with the Pokedex.

"Umbreon, the Moonlight Pokemon. When exposed to the light of the Moon, the rings on its body start to faintly glow, allowing it to piece the darkness of the night with ease. The rings will glow more easily when it is a full moon. As a nocturnal Pokemon, it lurks in the very shadows of the night, waiting to pounce on its prey."

"Jolteon, the Lightning Pokemon. When it's fur stands on end, it is sign that it is about to release jolts of electricity. This power is amplified by the power of its fur, enacting as miniature needles. It can release a voltage as strong as 10,000 volts easily just by generating a bit of power inside its body."

"Sylveon, the Intertwining Pokemon. The ribbons on its body are able to act as feelers, sending its emotions directly into an opposing Pokemon, and can easily disrupt them. It is rumored that this aura can erase even the most dreadful conflict. It is known to act elegantly, creating a dance that can pierce directly into a Pokemon's weak spot."
