Two glaring eyes locked unto Shara as she suppressed a shiver, preparing herself for battle. She knew both of these species as she often saw other Players playing as mains for it.
Judging from the lack of body upgrades these two had, they were most likely a whole lot weaker than her at the moment. With her new body upgrades and the Body Part she mutated her body with, she could very well kill them right here and now easily.
However, killing someone who used to be a former human wasn't something that she was on boat with... yet. She's still unsure about that part.
Shara clacked her mandibles in irritation. Trouble manages to find her in one way or another, she was starting to get tired of it.
The two fighting Players seized their battle and watched her with caution. Both were hesitant to do the first hit as Shara was clearly more superior than them in both size and mutations. Something about her made them feel uneasy.
Seeing as the two had no intentions of initiating battle yet, her mind started to think about how she should safely approach this situation.
'Is there a way I can talk to them?' Shara inwardly asked the System.
[The Chat function will be temporarily turned off while the Scenario is still ongoing. Communication between Players will not be possible.]
An unpleasant feeling bubbled up in her stomach. 'How inconvenient.' Shara growled inside her mind.
They were humans for crying out loud, not savages! What happened to being civilized?! It was big talk coming from her when she just killed and ate a monster, but still!
As much as she wanted to talk things out, she couldn't say anything to them and they wouldn't be able to understand her. It was a tense moment for the three Players.
Not knowing what to do, Shara just lifted her scythe defensively and waited for the worse to come. The other two becoming more restless at her actions.
RUMBLE... RUMBLE...
Then without warning, Shara's antennae trembled at the abnormal burst of ripples speedily approaching her area which almost made her heart stop from shock. A rumbling sound was echoing faintly.
'What in the world?!' startled, she turned to look at what was making such chaos and ignored the other two. Whatever was making her senses go haywire like this was definitely not something she would want to encounter. Since her antennae would only sense movements coming from living things, something that would make such a large disturbance could only be something absolutely massive.
The other two, who thankfully didn't attack when she turned her back, also started to notice that something was wrong when Shara started looking flustered at something that wasn't there. The black lobster in particular was shifting nervously on its spot, its antennae shivering.
[One hour left until the Main Scenario ends.]
[An unexpected problem has occurred.]

As if time stopped, the three Players froze into place after hearing the following notifications.
Shara blankly stared at the shadow in the distance which was slowly getting bigger and bigger as it got closer to them and felt a chill travel throughout her entire body.
RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
The sound of water rumbling became louder as shadow got close enough that she could slightly make out what exactly it was.
From start to end, an endless amount of different types of monsters bumped and pushed each other as they travelled into one direction. The strongest took the lead while the weaker ones followed from behind. While they were fighting amongst themselves, all of them clearly had one specific target.
It was them.
Without even thinking, Shara darted right past the two frozen Players and swam for her life. The lobster snapped out of its shock and quickly held unto Shara's tail just as she was about to speed past it, its claws gripping tight so it won't accident fall at the speed she was going. The eel followed suit and swam behind them, it was slightly slower because of its wounds.
Shara didn't care about them and just continued swimming away from the hoard of death steadily chasing them from behind.
"I regret not upgrading my speed!" Shara screeched in panic. She's spent all of her BUP on sneak, attack and senses. She doesn't really think going invisible would be a good idea either.
Shara took a peek behind her and saw multiple crustacean monsters chasing after them.
Some of them were clearly of higher rank than her, meaning their senses must be even more crazily advanced than hers was. If she could detect a hidden Velosteos even in her weaker form, there's no doubt these guys would be able to find her in an instant.
If her memory of the antennae evolution branch was serving her correctly, then the upgrades these guys had basically made them a living tracking device! Becoming invisible was absolutely pointless and would put her in even more danger.
Curse you, System! Curse all the Players who made the System change the scenario! Because of all of you lazy freaks she was pulled along into this madness!
The water on her side twisted and revealed an invisible low ranked Velosteos coming in to bite her. Because Shara's antennae was too overwhelmed by the amount of fluctuations it was detecting, she couldn't exactly pinpoint the distance between each individual monsters chasing after them.
Out of reflex, she sharply swam up and narrowly avoided the attack. Shara brought down her scythe and penetrated through its hard scales and right into its delicate flesh without a problem. She gasped in amazement at how much easier it was now to damage these armoured monsters.
Well, at least her dactyl was still useful.
Not caring whether it had died or not, she continued swimming away, the side of the Velosteos getting sliced open by the pointed spikes as she pulled her bloodied scythe out of its body.
The eel took this chance and bit hard unto the part Shara's attack hit the Velosteos and ripped apart a good chunk of its flesh and ate it. Ever since it came into this world, it hadn't manage to kill a single thing and it was absolutely starving.
The lobster saw what the eel did and screeched at it in annoyance. It was also starving but it couldn't let go of Shara to pick up some food or else it'll fall!
'Crap, my body aches.' Shara gritted her mandibles. After a while of swimming and killing some lower monsters here and there, she was starting to get tired. She might have a lot of stamina, but her body wasn't built for endurance.
The other two wasn't doing all that well either. Although the eel was feeding off of her kills, all of its stamina was spent when it was fighting against the lobster. The wounds on its body was also starting to hurt more and more because of how much it was moving around.
The lobster on the other hand, while not hurt nor tired, felt lightheaded and was about to pass out from hunger. It was barely even hanging unto Shara.
'And that's not even the end of it.' Shara glared at the stronger monsters swimming nonchalantly behind them.
'Not one of those bastards has even attacked us yet.' while the weaker ones pounce on them and try to slow them down, which only gets decapitated by her as a result, the top dogs stay behind and watch the whole thing go down.
"How much longer?" She opened the System interface in desperation.
[Time remaining: 5 minutes.]
'Shit, why is the countdown set at real time speed?!' Her movements were starting to get sloppy and the sneak attacks are now hitting her. While the additional 4% buff in her defense helped her shrug off the damage, because her carapace upgraded more in sneak and less in defense, these attacks still did hurt her.
It didn't matter if they swam or fought because if they stop, the sheer amount of monsters would just tear the three of them apart. With how tired they were, they might as well just die of exhaustion at this point.
The eel beside her was too busy catching up to her that it didn't notice a tentacle hurling towards it and was sent flying towards her, the weight of the attack stunning the eel.
Shara cursed and catched the eels body with her four lower legs while deflecting the other incoming tentacles trying to hit her.
After quickly getting rid of the tentacles, she carried the limp eel and made a swim for it under the narrow cracks of the coral reefs.
'Try and catch us here, you swarming bastards!' after a bit of contemplation, Shara decided to hide. Her entire body was aching and she wasn't sure she could swim anymore. She was previously thinking of abandoning the other two and use them as a distraction, but she had a better idea than letting these two die a useless death.
While the small and narrow entrance of the rocks get rid of the bigger and stronger monsters outside, the two players and her would kill all the smaller monsters that try to get inside. It was a risky move since she just volunteered to be trapped inside of here with no way out, but it was better than having these crazy savages catch up and devour them alive.
Unfortunately, she had one problem. Shara wasn't sure if she had enough stamina to fight off the dizzying amount of monsters that enters inside the cracks of the rocks long enough for them to complete the passing conditions of the Scenario.
Will they be able to buy enough time and win or will they be overwhelmed by numbers and die?
