The words refused to go into their brain. They heard them, but they all sounded like a blurry mess, attacking their head until they had no hope of ever understanding anything ever again. Anxious fingers bit at each other, too numb to function properly but trying their best to destroy everything which held them together. Teeth copied suit, ripping at the flesh which protected them. By their side, a different voice was mumbling, and there was a touch on their arm, on the other side, which felt too familiar. Too familiar. They’d been in this position before.
