|| Welcome To The Royal Galle

There was a bright flash of light, and then darkness.

“It's all a lie - they all are lying,” a thickly accented feminine voice pleaded, desperation in her voice.

“Cerelia,” a familiar male voice sighed, “please calm dow–”

“There’s no turning back,” the voice cracked. There was a fast shuffling of feet, “The foedus and the war… You can not stay any longer, amor. They will hunt us down.”

“Where will we go?” Dad asked, “And the infant?”

“I will keep them away as much as i can,” the voice said, “Take her with you to Homines.”

“I’m going nowhere without you-”

“Aiden placet!” the voice begged, “Ne forte interficerent eam! You need to get out of this Realm!”

With that there was a scream, the voice yelling one name over and over again in pure agony.

My head was in anguish, I screamed as I held it in my hands. Suddenly, my right hand moved right as instinct, my palm burned quickly for a few seconds then cooled down. I quickly sat up, and tried to force the sleep out of my head. making clear of my surroundings while gasping for air. I realized I was sweating so much that it formed a wet pool around my bed. My heart was racing so hard it felt like it’s going to break my ribcage.

I got out of my bed and bolted towards the bathroom, pulling open the cabinet and grabbing all the extra stash of my anti-depressants. I threw them all in the bin, “Stupid, stupid pills!” I yelled at them, before slumping down on the floor as i cried my heart out, it felt like i was going through dads pain of losing Cerelia. If he hasn't taken me in, she would’ve been alive.

I got up and headed towards the bathroom to have a shower. I then brushed my teeth and combed my wavy dark hair, and observed the eyes of my reflection.

My eyes are cloudy gray, sometimes mistaken for blue but they are gray. They surely belonged to my father as my mom had amazing honey-like hazel eyes. Even after all these years, the pain of losing my parents never gets easier, they say that you learn to live with it and cope with it, but it's not. Especially if you remember the very night your mom abandoned you like it was yesterday. I sighed as I slid into some comfy clothes and walked out.

I froze – my bedside lamp was in pieces, literally.

I walked over to it, shimmering dark dust was around it. No I’m not dumb to touch it, but my gut says to do it.

As soon as I touch the dust, they start to disappear in thin air. I back off, this must be some supernatural thingy or something. If the vampires destroyed my lamp they must be around me. Why would they destroy my LAMP? I only got it like - a few weeks ago!

Frustrated, I headed downstairs. Dad hummed to himself while cooking breakfast. “Morning,” he says without looking at me. Well, it's not morning considering the sun hasn't risen yet.

“Mhm.”

“When’s the Galle?” he asks

“At seven,” I replied. Yes, the Galle is at seven am. Seven freaking ante meridiem.

He flips the pancake and places it on a plate, sliding the plate across the counter top towards me.

“So you’re not mad because I didn’t tell you I have a date?” I played around the pancake with the fork, not at all feeling hungry.

“No, in fact I’m happy that you’re making friends again.” he smiled looking at me.

I took a bite of the delicious pancake, “Did you ever meet my DAD?”

He blinked, “I have not,” his eyebrows knit together, “your dad was also not one of us.”

“Then who was he?” by one of us, did he mean dad wasn’t a human?

He opened his mouth to reply but closed it again, like a fish. He was not telling me something, I raised an eyebrow at him

“It’s a long story,” he says, glancing at the clock, “I’ll tell you everything once you come back from the Palace.”

VIVIAN POV

I laid on Adria’s bed in my beautiful dark gown - making me feel like a hot dark queen and was completely bored to death by the number of times she did and undid her hair.

“Why aren’t you wearing your glasses?” I wondered, staring at the moon and stars on the cieling, she stuck when she was seven.

“I don’t know?” She frowned, looking back at her phone and then at her hairstyle which...it’s better if i don't talk about it, “My vision has been better,”

I raised my hand and opened my fingers, “How many?’ I asked. She looked at me through the mirror and grinned,

“Five,” woah she was as blind as a bat.

“You look good without it,” I acknowledged, Adria’s eyes looked more vibrant and gorgeous.

She blushed a little. “I need help,” she pleaded as she stared at herself in the mirror, looking perfect in her gown.

“Nah help yourself,” I replied, all thanks to me that I came three hours earlier.

“Zen is going to arrive any minute,” Adria pleaded, making puppy eyes at me, “PLEASE.”

I rolled my eyes and I got up to help her, I gathered her dark hair and loosely tied it in an elegant low bun. I used some pins to secure it in place and then hair sprayed my masterpiece. I glanced at Adria who looked satisfied with the results making my lips twitch up into a smirk, someone’s really excited.

The doorbell rang, the corners of her mouth lifted as she got up and padded towards the door.

ADRIA POV

There was a muffled argument before I opened the door, Zen and Eugene straightened up when they saw me. I narrowed my eyes at both of them. Zen stood there in his gray tuxedo, his black curls neatly gelled and combed back looking handsome as ever, and Eugene stood beside him in his black tuxedo, giving me one of his signature smirks. I didn’t realize that they both were holding a small box,

“Hey freckles,” Eugene said, lightly shuffling my hair.

“Hey!” I said trying to grab his monstrous hand destroying my hair, “Don’t or else Vivian is going to kill you.”

“Ah, where is she?” I pointed towards the stairs. He nodded and walked away.

“You look beautiful,” Zen breathed.

“Thanks,” I replied, feeling my cheeks heat up.

He awkwardly scratched his head , “Can you...come out for a minute?”

I nodded and got out, it was still dark but the sun was slowly rising in the sky with the amazing colors of twilight.

“I got this,” Zen smiled while handing me the box, “for you.”
