CHAPTER 59: WHAT’S FOR LUNCH?
“Alright, everybody! May I have your attention please?”
Mrs. Carlos's beaming face called the attention of all teachers and staff of Grayson Academy, who gathered at the school’s function room for a special lunch buffet.
“I have two things to say. First, I would like to acknowledge the presence of Mr. Gregory Grayson, our former school director, for coming here to witness our event.”
Everybody clapped their hands for the 70-year-old man, standing with a cane in his hand and greeting them with a reserved smile. Then he turned to the plump old woman who never loses a smile.
Weaving a deep sigh and staring at Mrs. Carlos, Mr. Grayson uttered, “It’s a dismay to lose you in this institution, Lolita. You are one of the pillars, who brought the academy to her glory together with me and Margareth. Now she’s gone. I am retired. And now… you’re leaving!”
