The Script of Evil series starts with Meet the Devil and this is book 5. Surprise after surprise for all the different role players trapped in a world dominated by cannibals and sinister puppet masters secretly manipulating the course of events. The cannibals are getting more dangerous as they develop a collective intelligence and hive mentality. The search party for Kadin and Billy, led by the reckless and crazy Jack, soon is trapped and surrounded by the cannibals. They end up pinned down in a dangerous zone in the gorges ruled by cruel adversaries blocking their way. Hunter and his search party enter the gorges from the other side to search for the youngsters. Hunter thinks he has the perfect plan to save the youngsters and outwit the mercenaries with the support of Morrison. Joss, the leader of the mercenaries, and his party realize what Hunter is up to and they set an ambush for both search parties should they succeed in finding the youngsters.
Meanwhile, Yolandi and Deon, owners of a farm, make their move to try and outwit the mercenaries who took over their farm. The community on the Eastwood Estate ignores the warnings coming over shortwave radio to abandon the farm and find a safe hiding place. Soon the different groups of survivors of the plague will each run into their own personal horror. A dreadful shocker will soon surprise every survivor of the plague.

Dreadful shockers

 Jack gestures to the rest to follow him. He sprints and rushes forward while shooting continuously with his two pistols. He aims at the hidden monsters behind the trees and bushes waiting for them just before the slope down. The bushes shiver and jump into life with harrowing yells and growling sounds. Jack continues shooting and suddenly it is dead quiet. Jack and his followers rush past the monsters. They are now on a steep drop and must focus and watch their steps to remain upright. 


 Suddenly a burst of bone-chilling noises come from behind. Lesley, being the last in the row, quickly peeps backward. The monsters rush out of the bushes and storm like maniacs after them. Jack has succeeded in fighting a path open past the cut-off point of the ambush just in front of the steep decline but now an unholy mass is chasing them. 


 Desperately Lesley yells: “Fuck! Run faster! They are on me!”
