RAINING SINNERS

It was a very lovely day, thankfully the weather was nice enough to be bright. Since it was field trip day we wandered around the amusement park. That's the last pleasant memory that I have before it happens. 


We are here at the police station where those who are not severely injured are taken. They ask us one by one who we are and what we did before the accident happened. After the questioning, they contacted our guardians regarding the matters. 


Minutes later Kheres and the substitute teacher arrived with the other police. The police questioned Kheres the same questions they have given us. After the questioning, Kheres asked the police something.


"The one with the short wavy black hair and a medium height girl. Have you seen her?" Kheres worriedly said.


"Are you related to her?" said the police.


"She's my best friend," Kheres replied.


When the police were about to speak again, another police officer entered the room. Waving a file in his hand. The police excuse himself for a bit and followed his comrade.


He looks into the file and then looks to Kheres then to the file again. He sighs in disbelief and walks towards Kheres while holding the file. 


"I'm so sorry, kid but the person you're looking for is dead. " Police hesitated but continued his words. 


"Her body was discovered dead on the bus due to the accident which caused loss of blood and brain injury."


All the eavesdroppers looked at the conversation between the two. All of them are baffled about what he said.


"No… It can't be true. How can she be on the bus?"  Kheres murmured.


"What do you mean kid?" the police asked.


"The reason why I didn't board the bus is that I'm looking for Lai. " Kheres said.


"Maybe she forgot about it and headed to the bus." Alica joined the conversation.


"When the roll call starts only you weren't present so Mr. Lad (Substitute teacher) looked for you. You two are the only ones who didn't board the bus." El said


I was waiting for her in the restroom for more than an hour, then I notice that she didn't come out so I ask someone to looked inside the female restroom and they didn't find her, so I ask them if I can come inside the restroom since there's not much of a people there and they agreed. She's not there.


I started to panic and asked some employees if they saw her and when they were about to broadcast it, Mr. Lad came looking for me and he said that all of them except us weren't able to board the bus. And here we are."


The policeman sighed and told us to go home first since it was already dark and our guardians were already there. They told us to come back tomorrow for further investigation. 


The next day they told us that it was just an accident and the cause of death was the accident itself and the case was closed. Kheres did not believe this and walked out of the station angrily. 


And her funeral was set. Classes were suspended for a week to commiserate her death.
