World of Arbre: A Scarlett Tale

Scarlett returned home with a bounce in her step, a broad smile on her crimson face. As she swung the door of the apartment wide, she was met by an unexpected sight. Sagacious sat at the kitchen table across from a lavender colored devilkin and he seemed to be cooking some eggs. The woman looked at Scarlett and smiled at her warmly as Sagacious turned and also smiled at her.

"Ah! This is my roommate, Scarlett!" He began by way of greeting, "Scarlett, this is Kallaia. She will be working with me on my current case, and she didn't seem to like the cuisine at the usual diner, so I'm attempting to make her real food."

Scarlett covered her shock well and merely offered, "Brave woman. Nice to meet you." She extended a hand which Kallaia took warmly. Sagacious deftly put a plate of something which was recognizable as scrambled eggs and toast on the table, laughing.
