Training Ground Alpha

Training Ground Alpha (Kamui's Point of View)

When the group arrived on a cliff overlooking the grounds, they were amazed to say the least. Five massive perimeters of rock were connected in a five-pointed star formation. Each dome looked to be the size of a standard training ground. They each might not be as large as the forest of death, but they were at least half the size. From the looks of it, her father was right; the environments do mimic the environments for the five great nations.

One of them contained a small desert with an assortment of plant-life that would normally be associated with that environment. Another contained a wet-land that consisted largely of water. The land that remained was designed to be similar to what would be expected in the land of water. All five domes also had massive barrier seals that influences the internal climate to simulate the appropriate weather. She could tell why her father was so proud of this place.

"You've really outdone yourself Lord Fourth" Kamui said. She made sure to address him formally when they're on duty; Sasuke and Itachi followed similar rules.

"Yeah dad! This is cool!" Naruto exclaimed. He was the only one in the family who didn't follow these rules. Technically Kushina didn't, but that's probably where he got it from. Kamui would make sure their new siblings followed the rules as well. She loved her blond brother to death, but he could be infuriating with how informal he could be.

If Sakura wasn't awed herself, she would be blowing up on Naruto for how annoying he was being. She much preferred 'her' Sasuke and the calm cool look of excitement he was giving.

Shikamaru was uncomfortable at the sight. He could already imagine the training they would be forced to endure; Ino was of a similar mind. Choji on the other hand would have loved to vocally agree with Naruto, but he was too focused on the bag of chips in his hand.

"I have to agree with Naruto." Hinata mumbled with her fingers poking each other in front of her chest.

"Of course you would; that's not really a surprise." Shino replied from his spot next to her causing her to blush in embarrassment. It wasn't a secret to anyone that Hinata had a crush on the blond. It was one of the reasons that Kiba was glad to be on Hinata's team. Maybe he could swoop in and change her tune over time.

"Hmph." Kiba had an annoyed expression on his face. It was never comfortable to see your love interest show interest for someone else, even if it shouldn't be a big deal in this case.

The Jonin stayed silent. They would have their time with their genin. This was a great opportunity to get a better understanding of their characters and motivations in action. Not only would it help them form a picture of what needed to be worked on, it could be exploited during the genin exams they would be conducting tomorrow with their squads. In Kurenai's case, she would absolutely be using a genjutsu to exploit Kiba's jealousy towards Hinata's crush on Naruto.

"I'm really looking forward to this sensei." Kamui said to Yugao, her eyes never leaving the training ground.

"I'm of a similar mind. I've heard great things and I'm really hoping you were worth leaving the anbu for. Wasting valuable time has never been my preference." Yugao said with a small smile on her face.

'She's giving me a compliment and a challenge, a subtle way to poke at my pride. It looks like I'm already being evaluated.'

"I hope so as well; I can't promise to be as good as your previous unit, but I'll definitely make it interesting for you." Kamui said as her eyes shifted to the sharingan. Try as she might, a statement like that infuriated her at an instinctual level, that someone like this would dare insult the pride of a dragon. On the outside, her face kept its composure. She had enough control of herself at the moment to not let her instincts dominate her personality.

On the side, the others started to get confused when Naruto and Sasuke started slowly shifting away from her. It seemed like they were taking their distance.

"What's got you two so worked up?" Kiba asked, his face twisted in confusion.

"Nothing. It's just that we would rather not be this close to her right now." Sasuke quickly explained with Naruto rapidly nodding his head.

"She can't be that scary. Can she?" Sakura asked in confusion. There was never an instance at the academy where Kamui took fights too seriously. After all, she had a large learning advantage compared to the other students. It's similar to what Itachi would have went through if he wasn't allowed to graduate early. It would have been too easy.

Sasuke gave her a side eye. "She can. You just haven't been around when she spars against our parents. The times I'm talking about were mainly against her mother though. The Fourth's too nice to trash talk and Aunt Kushina isn't creative at the art. Our mother though, she knows how to get under an Uchiha's skin. Kamui may lack most of the distinctive personality traits of our clan, but her pride is unmatched. While Yugao hasn't pushed any serious buttons, Kamui's reaction shows that she'll at least take this seriously."

"Wasn't she already going to take it seriously?" Sakura asked.

"There's a difference between trying to win a match and trying to kill your opponent. As a jonin, Yugao is at a level where it'd be hard for Kamui to do anything but. I just hope Yugao doesn't underestimate her too much." Sasuke commented.

"I don't think you're giving Yugao enough credit." A gruff voice commented. Looking towards where it came from, they noticed it was Asuma. "Before this, Yugao was a member of the elite anbu that reports directly to the Hokage. She's easily an elite Jonin. The fight really depends on the pace she wants to go at." He finished with a smirk.

"Actually…" Minato interjected, getting their attention. "You both make good points. Yugao may be physically stronger with a larger pool of fighting experience, but Kamui regularly spars with me; she's no stranger to stronger opponents. Yugao also isn't used to her method of fighting; it's a bit irregular to say the least. I'm honestly not sure how this is going to go. If I were a betting man, I would say the outcome depends on if Yugao chooses the right environment." He said surprising all the jonin. For the fourth to have such confidence in the child was certainly surprising. They had heard comparisons about her skill to Itachi's at that age, but even the Itachi of that time couldn't match the current Yugao. They were missing the fourth's point though.

"Now then. Everyone! We're going to get started. Yugao, which field would you like to conduct your assessment in?" He asked.

Yugao pondered for a moment and then looked at him. "I would like our bout to be in the sandy terrain. The climate and shifting terrain would make for a good challenge to the uninitiated." She spoke. The land of wind was known as a harsh land with sand all around. The sun would bear down on you like a mountain and the sands would make it hard to make precise maneuvers.

Chuckling, Minato shook his head, stunning Yugao a bit.

"If that's what you want, that's where we'll go. Let's move." He spoke and proceeded to speed forward. Somewhere along the ride, a black and red blur caught up to them; Mikoto and Kushina had arrived.

The group sped to the training ground and it took about an hour to reach the border of the sand simulation zone. As they passed the barrier surrounding the training ground, they were suddenly assaulted with a wave of heat.

"So, Naruto, can you create barriers like these yet?" Ino asked.

"I can make a simplified version, but there are too many things to account for in the process. It'll be a few years before I can reach this level." He said with an awed expression. His mom had told him about the perfected version of this particular seal, but this was the first time seeing it at this scale.

"Maybe if you would have read the material earlier, you'd already be able to do this." Kamui commented, giving him the side eye.

Naruto huffed. "Not everyone has special eyes that help them memorize everything. Some of us have to actually study the material we want to learn." He said, dismissing her argument. Secretly, the non-Uchiha in the area nodded their heads.

Scoffing, Kamui's eyes narrowed. "I wouldn't have even commented if you spent enough of your time studying. Aunty has to tie you to the table half of the times she wants you to read the material." She said causing a few of them to chuckle.

"Hmph" he grunted trying to stop this particular conversation.

An hour of running later, Minato stopped them.

"I think this is far enough. You two ready to go?" Kamui and Yugao took distance from each other and nodded. With that everyone else backed away to give them some room.
