Chapter 40 - Surprise

Next Morning.

"March, take care. I'm going to school. Don't worry, my family has agreed to cover your school leave. I'll visit you after class "Elizabeth said to March and kissed him goodbye as he walked out of the hospital room.

"Take care, Eliza," March said, smiling.

By the time Elizabeth gets to school. He can't help but smile as he recalls what happened the day before.

"Hehe, the Eliza brothers are so different," March exclaimed, surprised.

The day before.

Nathan appears to be courting death by asking that question.

Nathan was nearly suffocated to death by Marcus. Eliza was surprised to see her brother March standing by her side.

For her, brother Marcus was a calm person. He was a typical doctor image.

While Nathan, in her opinion, was a more rebellious adolescent.

But Eliza was taken aback when she saw the other side of her older brothers.

Lester was, as usual, the same. Older brother who is trustworthy. Just like that Elizabeth was taken aback by Lester's fighting prowess.

"I assumed I came from a typical wealthy family. But it appears that I was mistaken "Elizabeth was thinking at the time.

Lester then puts an end to both of their fights. Rafael, their father, asks the three Siblings to step outside for a moment.

"What's going on, Father?" Elizabeth inquired of her father.

Elizabeth's mother, Sofie, was nervous as she observed her daughter and her husband conversing.

Rafael tried his best to explain it as clearly as possible without saying sensitive information.

Meanwhile, March was listening to their conversation.

"So Elizabeth has a different fiancee?!" March was shocked and devastated to learn that the girl he likes has a different fiancee than him.

He was unconsciously revealing a murderous intent. Elizabeth's parents were taken aback by this.

Elizabeth was also taken aback, but she knew there was a good chance March had developed feelings for her as a result of the incident.

Well, she found him cute and attractive but had no plans to commit yet.

But it seems that the world is making fun of her.

"What are you thinking?" she asked, holding March's hand.

March's thoughts were disrupted, and he became dazed as he noticed Elizabeth holding his hands.

For her parents, Elizabeth's actions were crystal clear. It led them to the conclusion that their daughter is now an adult with a man in her life.

Elizabeth's actions had an impact on March. He couldn't think of anything to say, so he decided to act it out.

He kisses Elizabeth in front of her parents.

Elizabeth's parents reacted differently. March's recklessness astounded her mother.

"Oh, you're fearless!? Is he looking to die young?" Sofie muses to herself.

Elizabeth's parents had a different reaction. March's bravado astounded her mother.

"Oh, you're brave! Is he planning on dying young?" Sofie thinks to herself.

After witnessing March's actions, Elizabeth's father, Rafael, was enraged.

"This cutie is fearless. Well, I don't care for him. I'm afraid I'll lose control and end up corrupting this sweetie "Elizabeth thought to herself.

March took Elizabeth's hand in his and declared.

"I'm going to be her future husband. And no one can prevent me from becoming one." March stated.

"..." Sofie was at a loss for words. She was wondering if today's youth were too daring.

"Good, young man, it is in the future. "Never believe you can do more than that," Rafael advised March.

"Yes, Mr. Rafael, I understood," March replied solemnly.

"Mom, what just happened?" Sofie, Elizabeth's mother, inquires.

"It's fine, dear; I'll explain more when the time comes; for now, stay with your fiance, and then we'll go home," Sofie explained.

"OK, mom," Elizabeth agreed, but the back of her head was already complaining.

"Aghh! Why don't these people just explain it to me and get to the point?"

Elizabeth dont know what to react to what her mother explained to her later that night.

Her mother explained a little about a secret hidden world or society. For those who have been labeled as "unawakened" or "talented."

She explains briefly that magic and superpowers exist in their world, but they are hidden.

Since awakened people or the Elites are few in numbers.

The Awakens people had a super low fertility rate.

We're back in the hospital.

Knock! Knock!

"Come on in, the door is open," March invited.

A man dressed in a white polo shirt and light brown shorts walks inside the room.

"Good morning, March Red, how are you doing?" said the man.

"What brings you here, Rex?" March inquired if it was clear that he disliked the man who was visiting him.

"Petty, do you still hold me against me as a result of it?" With a smile on his face, Rex inquires.

March changed the subject and is unsure how to respond to that question.

"Can you tell me why you're here?" March inquires.

"Your fiancee is adorable," Rex commented.

"REX!" March yelled that he was furious that Rex had threatened him with his fiancee.

Rex laughs when he sees March's reaction.

"You're a bore. The tournament is coming up in March, and the society has asked me to send you a competition for your fiancee "Rex stated.

Rex hid a lot of information.

"My fiancee is not a member of society. Why! You set me up! " March stated that he realized he was in a difficult situation.

"You declined to participate in the competition. However, your fiancee is a member of your family. So she can't say no because she needs to prove herself as a member of society "With a smile, Rex said.

"No, I'm going to join it, not her," March stated.

Rex, on the other hand, did not respond and simply vanished into the room.

"F*ck! That b*tch." March can't help but grumble.

Rex reappeared a few blocks away from the hospital and dialed a phone number.

"Mission accomplished. Target has agreed to participate in the competition "Rex provided information.

"Good, keep an eye on the target fiancee," said the voice on the other end of the phone.

"Roger that," Rex said.

Then the call got disconnected after that.

"Tck! As usual, he was rude "With a smile on his face, Rex said.

Elizabeth's teachers at school are having second thoughts after seeing her test papers.

Elizabeth needs to retake almost all of her subjects since she failed all of them.

It was school policy to require all students to retake any major exams within one week of the original date.

However, the exam was created recently and was adjusted to ensure that it is at the same level as the previous exam.

So Elizabeth was not alone taking the retake exams.

But because she was the most noticeable student, she was always the center of attention, whether it was from the students or the faculty.

"This exam is difficult, Ahhh! Exams in high school are a pain. Fortunately, the original Elizabeth is intelligent; otherwise, I would have been a working adult in the past. Forcing me to take an exam like this is excessive "Elizabeth was whining about her mind.

She was oblivious of the speed she was answering the test papers.

It was too fast, and her answers were more than enough to pass the retake, which required 50% correct answers.

She received a score ranging from 70% to 80%. It was not a high achiever, but for a student who had always failed, this was too much of a surprise for her teachers.

They want to doubt the results of the exams but they can since the exam was computer generated and each test paper is specially made for an individual.

And the test papers are finished just a few minutes before the retake starts.

In addition, there are cameras on each of the retakers' tables, as well as numerous tools to prevent cheating.

So if anyone dared to cheat will be caught easily.
