Status Page

Seeing, that Alice was sleeping soundly, Noah went downstairs and walked out of the house through a back door. It led to the backyard of the house.

The area was large and had enough space for him to run around and train if he wanted to. It was well taken care of with the grass freshly trimmed and the tree pruned. There was even a nice one-foot deep pond giving it variety.

Noah walked in and stood in the centre of the backyard. The night sky looked exactly like the one on earth, bright stars watching over him. He looked around and spotted the moon. A gentle wind passed by him and helped him relax into the unfamiliar environment.

"Status page."

[Opening Status Screen...]

A blue holographic screen, much larger than him, appeared.

[Adjusting size...]

The screen then shrunk down to a laptop screen, something he was used to.

Noah quickly went through it and understood it. The status page was very similar to what you saw in games, a bit simpler though.

The translucent blue screen had his level written on top in large underneath it it had his details such as name, age and race. After that, his attributes were shown. Following it was awakened talents, traits and skills. He had an impression of everything but was still curious about how everything was defined in this world.

Noah then thought about opening a help page and another screen appeared. As a voice spoke in his mind.

[Hello, I'm System! I'm here to help.]

The screen in front of him was a holographic light blue screen with a white search input bar in the middle. This was something he had learned about in the book he had read. After opening the status page it was possible to directly ask the system questions.

Noah had an incredible amount of questions. In such an inconceivable situation, he wanted to know all that he could know about this world.

"What are attributes and how do they work?" This was something he wanted to understand properly. Attributes seemed like they were the core of what would be his fighting strength.

[Loading...]

A screen around 2 meters square materialised. On it in small font size paragraph after paragraph of information was shown. With information as graphs, tables, charts and all types of data. At the bottom of the page was a next page button.

Noah started to read.

[Attributes are a representation of yourself in numbers to gauge your prowess. They summarise the extent of power an individual can show in certain categories into comprehensible numbers. The system regulates the attributes of all beings in the plane through many factors (~0.602 Septillion factors). The system uses all data of all beings in the plane from a genetic level to environmental...]

As he read on, it became more and more complicated. As equations and symbols, he hadn't seen on earth started to appear. Halfway through he found that a lot of the information was going over his head or wasn't relevant to what he wanted to know.

"How many pages are there?"

[You only have access to the first 1000 pages]

The system hadn't answered his question completely but only told him the number of pages he could read. This also brought the fact that the system wouldn't answer all questions. Only allowed him to access some data.

Noah naturally wasn't going to read these 1000 pages.

"Give me a few sentences of summary of all the relevant information about attributes to me."

The screen shrunk down to less information. It had dumbed down to the level a human could understand.

[A human can only start with attributes from 1-10. They allow you to understand your power on a cosmic level compared to all other beings on the eternal battlefield. The maximum potential of the human race, which is a non-mana based race, is at 10 points when arriving in the eternal battlefield. However, after arrival attributes can be increased indefinitely through various methods.

The amount of points in each attribute is decided through a complicated process. For understanding, most of the population is at 5 points. Getting higher points is exponentially harder. Where 10 is only given to those who have thoroughly trained and show skilful use of the attribute.

Mana is an exception as all humans were given a 1 in the mana attribute. As no human has had contact with mana before.

There are seven main attributes:

-Strength mainly affects the body's physical aspects. It is the attack power that can be shown by an individual when hitting another individual.

-Agility deals with speed and control of the physical body. It is the movement speed of an individual.

-Physique impacts the body composition. It is your health and how many hits you can take.

-Intelligence influenced the strength of mana for magic and skills.

-Willpower oversees the control of mana for magic and skills.

-Sense is the amount of information that can be perceived by you.

-Mana tells the amount of magic power you have and its regeneration rate.]

After going through the information a question popped up in Noah's mind.

"Does that mean that everyone with the same number of points in an attribute has the same strength? Isn't that unfair." Noah asked curiously.

[The strength from the original world is completely translated when coming to the eternal battlefield. Although the number of points might be the same, many other factors such as Awakened talents and traits have hidden effects on attributes. So it is unlikely for someone with the same points to have the same strength.]

"Isn't that a whole other ball game than, that means the attributes aren't an accurate representation of how much power I have in a punch?"

[True, they represent the theoretical basic power of a punch. Not the actual power.]

Noah understood a lot about attributes. That what he was given was simply a representation of all the power he had in him. How he used them was what really mattered. Noah moved on then.

"What are awakened talents and what are the effects of my talents."

[Talents are natural abilities that have awakened due to the addition of Mana.]

Then another screen appeared.

"The 'Guardian of Love' seems like a pair talent. Does Alice have a similar talent as well?" It stood out as it had something to do with a lover, while all the others had to do with himself. He was sure it was related to Alice.

[Yes, she has 'Guarded by Love' which pairs with 'Guardian of Love'.]

Noah made a mental note to ask Alice about it later. He then moved on to the next thing he wanted to know.

"I want to see the overview of my traits."

[Traits are passive effects brought through mana from special characteristics about you]

[Ambidextrous: Able to use left and right hand equally well]

[Insomniac: Have trouble sleeping]

[Explorer: like to explore]

Traits were easy to understand. They were part of his normal life. Nothing was really added.

"Can't you give a more detailed explanation?"

[The System shall only provide basic information on personal details. More detailed information was must be found out through trial and error yourself.]

Noah looked at his talents again. His talent the 'Guardian of Love' was something he was incredibly thankful for. He hadn't noticed it before but unconsciously he was able to where Alice this was why he was able to find her directly when he appeared in his room.

The skill allowed him to sense her life force so he would be able to tell how she was doing without being there. This was a godsend to him. If he didn't have this talent he would probably suffocate himself with the anxiety of not being able to tell how Alice was whenever he wasn't beside her. It was especially comforting to constantly know she was fine.

It didn't stop there, it even allowed him to teleport to Alice when she was in danger and protect her. Giving him a boost in attributes and teleporting himself to Alice to protect her. Reading this helped him calm down as he planned the future. This would greatly help him get over his separation anxiety.

He didn't want to separate from Alice but he knew he wouldn't be able to stay by her side in the future 24/7. This talent was perfect for him, this was the talent he wanted the most, he would have given up any other talent just to have this. He didn't mind that it was only a C class talent, its effects were something he would never forgo.

Moving to the next one, 'Blessed Mind', it was the highest rank talent he had. From what he had read about awakened talents in the introductory book, Talents were ranked from S class down to F class. S class were the highest and normally less than 10 people who have them in a population of ten billion. Simply put from all the humans only less than ten people would have an S class talent.

After that was A and B class talents, together they were in the thousands in a population of ten billion.

'Blessed MInd' was an A+ class talent. He didn't know what significance the '+' had but it definitely meant that it was stronger than your normal A-class talent. This was something he saw in its effects as well.

"This talent Allows the usage of all magic, if that really is true to what it's saying then this talent is way too broken."

Skills and magic couldn't be learned thoughtlessly, simply but if you didn't have some type of affinity to the element of the magic or skill it would be hard for you to cast it. For low-level skills, it was still possible to use them but as their rank increased it becomes almost impossible.

If this really allowed him to use all magic, it would mean that he would be able to use all spells, even high ranked spells of elements he didn't have an affinity for. This had a huge impact as this allowed his combat style to be more dynamic and diverse.

As for the other effects of 'Blessed Mind', he would have to use them to see how much they helped in combat. But generally, he understood this talent gave him great potential in magic combat.

The other talent that stood out to him was 'Spatial Sense'. It was simple compared to 'Guardian of Love' and 'Blessed Mind'. It was an A-class talent, that already alluded to the fact it was extraordinary. It gave him another sense, this allowed him to 'see' everything in a certain area.

Noah closed his eyes to concentrate. To use it he would need to activate it with a thought.

'Spatial Sense' activated and Noah opened his eyes and looked around. The world looked the same yet so different. It was like he had a 3D model of the entire backyard in his mind. When he looked at the tree, he didn't just see it from one side he saw it from all sides. Just from one look, he saw a small caterpillar hidden behind a leaf, normally impossible to see from the angle he was looking at.

It was seeing the world in a higher resolution, the smalls changes in surfaces were prominent to him. He could sense the wind flow and its fluid movement.

"Damn." Noah closed his eyes and grabbed his head with both hands, lightly massaging it. He suddenly felt a sharp pain and his head began to ache.

"I need to keep its use a minimum, my brain can't seem to handle taking in so much information for so long." Noah thought as he sat down. Considering how long the talent was on for, he deduced that 'Blessed Mind' had probably helped him in keeping it active since the normal human brain wouldn't be able to even start processing that amount of information.

Looking back at his Status window Noah saw his final two talents, 'Truth Seeker' and 'Genius Martial Combat Body'. Both were direct and didn't seem to show any changes in him at the moment.

"I do feel a bit stronger, my movements also carry more of an edge. It is like my body is at peak condition ready for combat. That's probably the effect of 'Genius Martial Combat Body'. As for 'Truth Seeker' I'll have to see it work to fully understand it."

Noah got up. He had a better understanding of his talents and his starting point in this world.

"I'll have to investigate the effect of the traits myself later, for now, let's try out my skills."
