Rescue Arrives

Back on earth, Noah woke up in the middle of the night. Alice was still sleeping.

He grabbed his bag and took out his insomnia pills and took one.

In the eternal battlefield, he had gained a trait and talent that allowed him to live normally with his insomnia but back on earth he still needed them.

He then restarted the fire that was almost in embers and laid back down with Alice.

The pills only stopped the side effects of insomnia and didn't help him go to sleep. So he laid with his eyes closed waiting for Alice to wake up.

Alice woke up around sunrise. They went to shore to fix up the sign they had made and the fire that was out by now.

In the afternoon they sat together on the shore talking when Noah stopped and pointed.

"A helicopter, finally we can leave."

Alice saw it as well and was excited. Noah packed his bag and fixed his clothes up Alice did the same.

The two then waited for the helicopter to land.

The helicopter had noticed them and landed onshore.

Two men sat inside who smiled seeing them, "Get on, we'll take you back."

The other informed that they had been found to headquarters.

Noah got on then helped Alice on the two sat as the helicopter rose and flew back to their base,

A few hours later Noah and Alice were sitting on a couch holding cups of coffee opposite to them an Old man sat. It was the person Noah had first visited on arrival.

"I'm glad you both are fine, when I was called and told my bike was found thrashed on the bridge, I almost had a heart attack. After checking the security camera we were able to see Noah running to the railing. Although we didn't see him fall, we assumed he had. Luckily we were right and found you. So what actually happened how did you both fall off the bridge." The old man said.

Noah looked at Alice he didn't know how much he should say, he wanted her to start and he would build on what she said.

Alice didn't want to tell the truth, she was able to talk to Noah since they were basically family.

"I was leaning on the railing using my phone when it slipped out of my hand because of the rain, I grabbed out to reach it when a strong gust of wind came and pushed me over the railing."

"I had been looking for Alice and saw her fall, so I ran to grab her but couldn't catch her so I jumped off to save her."

Old man Lucas sighed, "I won't ask why you were using your phone in the middle of a storm on a bridge, just don't do it again. If you use your phone like that what else was it suppose to other than fall?"

"Noah, although what you did was heroic, it was dumb. If you wanted to save her you should have contacted emergency services for help."

The old man sighed as the two silently listened.

"At least both of you look well, it seems that it wasn't too hard on the island."

Noah nodded, "Yes, we found freshwater quickly and I had a lot of stuff with me to help in survival. You know how much I loved to go camping with father-in-law."

*Knock*

Someone knocked on the door then opened it, it was a middle-aged man he had come in holding a briefcase. He was Noah's family butler.

"Sebastian, can you get me a replacement for my phone and wallet?"

"Already done sir," He opened the briefcase and gave Noah a phone and wallet. Noah opened his wallet and saw all his cards had been reissued and there was even a picture of him and Alice together. It was exactly the same as before.

Noah turned to look at Elder Lucas and said.

"Thank you we wouldn't have been found so quickly without your help, also and I'm sorry for destroying your motorcycle if I can do...."

"No need, No need, It was no problem, it was your father who came all the way here and did everything. He even paid me back even when I insisted against it. Right, Sebastian where is he?"

"Master left for the airport when he found out they were fine. He had already delayed a lot of work staying in country S."

Old man Lucas was stunned, Noah however expected this and just moved on.

"Sebastian I'll be living in Country S from now on, I'll message you the location send my luggage there."

"Yes, sir. Also, master recommended that both of you go to a hospital for a checkup."

"No, we both are fine. We'll be going home now. Old man, we'll come to visit you soon to say our thanks properly,"

"Yes, both of you should go get some rest."

Noah and Alice said goodbye and got in a cab. They went straight to Alice's apartment.

At the door, Alice put in her code to unlock the door and they both entered.

The apartment was dark, Noah reached for the light switch but none of them turned on. He walked to the window which was blocked thick dark curtains. He pulled them open revealing the mess the apartment was in.

There was fast food packaging and plastic wrappers all over the place. With it, dirty laundry was piled up in corners. All surfaces were covered in dust.

Noah walked into the kitchen and saw two bags filled with trash, the sink had dirty dishes everywhere and all the cupboards and the fridge was void of all food.

Alice didn't seem to care and walked straight to her room to get a change of clothes then went to the bathroom to shower.

She looked at Noah and said, "I'm going to take a bath so make yourself comfortable. There shouldn't be any food at home can you please order something."

"Sure,"

Noah turned on his phone and downloaded all his data from an online backup. He then ordered food.

After that, he ordered groceries but went further to buy cooking utensils. Then he changed the section and bought cleaning supplies.

As he was walking around the house looking for what to buy he saw a Roomba Alice had wasn't working, it was also why the floor was so dirty, he ordered another one.

Noah then flipped through his phone and called a nearby laundromat to come and pick up Alice's clothes for washing.

As he waited for everything to arrive, he cleaned up as much he could. Starting off by picking up all the large pieces of trash and putting them in a bag. He then took the trash bag out as well as the ones already filled.

As he washed the dishes the groceries he had ordered had arrived. He went through them all, filling up the kitchen with food. He then started dusting and cleaning.

He set up the Roomba and broomed the house with it. He ended filling another bag with trash, which he also threw out. While coming up someone came to take Alice laundry. Noah stuffed all the clothes lying around the house into the bag.

He looked at the room again, now much cleaner. The room was set simply with one couch a coffee table and a TV mounted on the wall.

Noah moved onto Alice bedroom next.

He entered the room and was horrified. The room was much worse, no different from a pigsty. Similar to the other room but on another level.

What really caught his eye was the wall with photos of him covered in marks crossing out his face or graffiti on it.

Noah didn't mind and just thought it was funny. He cleaned up the room and took out all the trash covering the ground. He then got another pile of clothes that were washed but hadn't been hung and kept in her wardrobe.

He opened up Alice's wardrobe. Inside he saw a large body pillow with him on it. Noah pulled it out and looked at it. The image of him on it was of him lying in a suggestive position. He didn't remember taking such a photo, it was photoshopped.

"Where did she even get this?" Noah thought. Alice's room had a lot of his merch. It was hard to tell if she was a hater or a fan.

"Should I throw it? I should, she has me now, she doesn't need this."

With that, Noah cleared up Alice's room, made her bed, wiped her shelf. He finally cleaned everything and sat down.

The food eventually arrived. He set up the table and turned on the TV waiting for Alice to come out.

Alice came out of the bathroom drying her hair, she was astounded by the change in the house.

"Did you clean everything yourself?" Alice asked.

"Naturally, it was my first time cleaning but I think I did a good job," Noah said proudly.

Alice walked into her room and looked around she stopped for a moment seeing the pictures of Noah and looked at Noah a bit embarrassed.

"I don't mind, I think it's cute," Noah said.

Alice then went to her wardrobe and started looking for something.

"Where is it?" Alice said as she looked around.

'What are you looking for?"

"A body pillow with you on it..." Alice stopped for a moment to think about what she had just said.

"I threw it away," Noah answered innocently.

"What! How could you! Do you know how expensive it was?! I had to work part-time for three months to buy it!"

Noah came close and pulled her into his embrace, "Well, you have me now, so you don't need it anymore."

"Humph, it's not the same," Alice answered looking away angry. "Actually since you want to replace it you can't push me away whenever I hug you!"

Noah picked her up seeing how excited she was and laughed. "Of course I was never going to say no, to begin with,"

Noah brought Alice to the living room where the food had been.

"So what do you plan on doing the rest of the day?" Noah asked.

"I planed on lying in my bed. Nothing really." Alice answered as she ate.

"Good then, I already bought us a membership at the nearest sports club with horse riding, We'll go later and I'll start teaching you how to ride a horse."

"Today?"

"You can't say no, we are going," Noah said.

Although Alice wanted to learn horse riding she was a bit nervous. Seeing Noah was adamant she decided to just go with him.
