Looking for the Serpent

On his Levitation Staff, Noah zoomed through the Deadly Woods. His Spatial Sense scanning everything in a hundred-meter radius. He already planned a route to find it. Starting from the most probable areas first, then moving to other places.

Noah came to stop sensing a small serpent in a tree he came close and saw it was just a regular E Class monster Grass Snake. He then continued.

The trees were varied going from a short a meter long to twenty meters tall. They all had their own unique look from bark colour to leaves. It all formed this fantasy magical forest. Now focusing on everything he saw Noah noticed how many monsters there actually were.

There was an incredible amount of F Class small insect monsters that would avoid him because of his strong aura. With hide aura, they were all visible.

After a full seven hours of looking around, he went back.

Alice was in bed not being able to sleep without Noah. She was already used to sleeping with him, without him to cuddle with her bed felt so big. Noah soon entered.

'You're still awake? Wait a second I'll be quick to change." Noah then got into bed and the two slept.

...

On Earth.

With the start of a new month a while ago, a million more people were brought to the Eternal Battlefield from the mana wave.

From the first of the month, people were going on a frenzy. From social media, news about the Eternal Battlefield was everywhere.

Even when Alice and Noah went to school they would hear people talking about it.

People didn't believe the Eternal Battlefield existed rather, they thought it was some type of inside joke or cult that had become popular. A more radical opinion was that the government was using dream technology to train soldiers for a future war. The most popular opinion was that Aliens were taking control of the planet.

While Noah read the theory, he didn't find anything wrong Alice next to him asked, "Aren't the people from Eternal Battlefield aliens?"

"They are." Noah nodded with certainty.

"This isn't even theory, this is just fact," Alice said as she sipped her drink.

Noah nodded.

From the people around them, no one had entered the Eternal Battlefield. These were neighbours that they greeted and made small talk with, to classmates.

Wondering if his parents got in Noah sighed then pulled Alice close. Alice was texting someone and had stopped talking.

"Are you messaging Sofia or Tasha?" Noah asked, since they came back, Alice found them online and got their numbers. They had already been texting each other all day.

"Tasha, Sofia has class now."

"I see." Noah nodded. He got up and pulled Alice with him when he heard the bell. They had to go back to class.

Walking by classroom 3 he smiled seeing a few empty seats. Polara and her crew were expelled. When Noah had asked for help a second time Alice agreed. She was already too busy with training and beating up Polara wasn't fun so she just let Noah get rid of them.

'Just one more person to deal with and I'll be done.' Noah thought seeing a handsome boy talk while laughing on the school ground. Vince had although not done anything to Alice, by denying it was him in Alice's credibility had died off and really started the whole thing. Noah didn't plan too much, just give him a taste of his own medicine.

The school day passed. Alice and Noah went back to building D and trained until sunset and went back home.

...

In the Eternal Battlefield, five days quickly passed, Noah spent the morning with Alice and the Rose Foxes. They cleared three D Class dungeons every day since they had gotten a little faster. They would then explore the town with Alice from different shops to food stores. They had even bought some equipment from the auction house.

Noah would leave after a while and continue searching all day long. By now he had covered most of the likely areas, but he hadn't found it. he would also continue doing C Class dungeons, only did one, because of the time restraint.

...

In a Dungeon Noah covered his face with his arm as he held the True Wood Staff. A large pink butterfly flew around in the close tall tree-filled room. It released a toxic gas with each flap of its body.

Noah stamped the staff down two staffs down. He activated Gravitational Zone to limit the movement of the Dungeon Lord, he then cast roots of binding that was strengthened by the staff holding the Dungeon Lord in place. Followed it by a Leaf Storm. The wind generated by the leaves pushed the gas away and attacked the butterfly.

Cuts covered its body, Noah approached but was pushed back with a wave of light. The Butterfly went through reverse metamorphosis and turned back into a cacoon.

Its outer shell was tough and took almost no damage. Noah had to use Yin-Yang reinforcement to break through with dozens of slashes to kill the Dungeon Lord.

[You have slain the Dungeon Lord!]

Noah collected the loot and walked out.

...

Today was his sixth day searching. He had already covered the whole forest yet hadn't found it. Now he was going through it again from the beginning. Stopping at places he felt had traces of it, even digging into the ground a little to make sure he could a good cover of everything.

It was unlikely but TriFlower Serpents could go underground. He was now flying as close to the ground he could.

He finally stopped and dug in the ground a little, he saw a hole in the ground that was similar to the size he had read about them. Not finding anything he looked to the side at a rock next to a tree that had tree roots growing around it.

He found it!

Getting on his Levitation Staff Noah shot at the rock breaking it into pieces. The TriFlower Serpent had dug in and perfectly combined with the rock that even with Spatial Sense he didn't notice any air gaps.

The pinkish-white green serpent hissed as it ran away. It looked beautiful with its flower crown and multicoloured scales. It then disappeared into thin air. It had a stealth ability similar to Alice. However, Noah wasn't too worried about losing it now, with his Spatial Sense he could sense it and he had used the enhancer Lock On on it.

He rarely used Lock On, only for Dungeon Lord's that were too fast and good at dodging, this was his first time using it on a normal monster.

He shot from his gun and brought it out of stealth. The Serpent seeing it couldn't run away turned and spit at Noah. Instinctively moved his head to the side letting the bullet of venom go past him. The shot had caught him off guard by how fast it was.

He jumped off the Levitation Staff and followed the Snake using Flash Step. He constantly shot at it. Although it was weak, it was a C Class Elite monster. He had to follow it almost through the whole of the first to finally get the kill shot.

The serpent was so fast that when he had gotten close with his sword he was only able to leave a scratch since it was able to run away faster. Lock On was his saving grace, allowing all his bullets to hit, it took time but he killed it.

The dead TriFlower Serpent dropped a few items, one was a crystal sphere.

[Eye of a TriFlower Serpent]

Getting the item Noah packed everything up and went back to the city for the day tomorrow he had to go get his new gun.
