Descendants of Eternals

After saying goodbye to Kira, Alice walked back to the apartment.

"You're back! What did Kira want to talk about?" Noah asked as he finished cooking and set it on the kitchen slab. After getting home and not seeing Alice, he messaged her and asked where she was so he knew she was meeting Kira.

"Kira told me you helped Vince," Alice said as she sat down to eat.

"Should I not have?" Noah asked.

"No you did the right thing, I would've been mad if you didn't," Alice said taking a bite. "By the way, why were you dressed up like that?"

"You saw that?" Noah coughed in embarrassment, "I usually disguise myself when I need to go to public places, it helps in stopping people recognising me."

"I see," Alice believed him since it made sense, she had seen Noah get recognised even with his face completely covered.

"How's it going in the Eternal Battlefield? Are you doing well in B Class dungeons?"

"It takes a lot longer now without you, we have to be careful to not get ambushed..."

The two continued talking as they ate.

...

Later in the night, Noah sat on the bed as Alice lay next to him sleeping him. He pulled out his laptop and put the memory card in.

Noah started going through the information on it. The mysterious man he had met was someone famous on the deep web as an information broker under the name of 'H'. He was able to get his hands on all information in the world through his skills.

Noah had found him two years ago to get information on Alice, however, his parents had intervened causing H to reject his request. He found him again a few months ago when his father had given him the information related to the death of Alice's parents.

The information contained the report on the investigation of the scene. There was evidence that someone had entered the house at their time of death. But not being able to settle on a suspect and with Alice's testimony of not seeing anyone, they had settled on suicide.

'There is a possibility that they were murdered and the suicide is a setup. But that routes a lost cause since we can't get any more evidence.' Noah had thought about it and had already assumed happened.

They hadn't committed suicide by choice, considering how they were they could have chosen many different ways to plan their deaths, why would they do it so brutally and traumatise their daughter? The letter he had gotten never specified how they were going to die so it seems things had gotten much worse for this to happen.

Mother-In-law likely saw a recent future of someone breaking in killing the three of them, so she ended up rushing the plan they had. She killed Father-In-Law and herself. They would continue living in the Eternal Battefiled while Alice would be left alive for the testimony.

It made sense why his parents had given him no leeway when he tried to get to Alice. The situation was something that they found difficult to handle.

His father had been able to come up with a list of possible suspects after investigating everything he could find. Noah had H investigate them, he now finally got the data.

Scrolling through their information, it had everything from routines to all illegal acts they had done. All of them were involved with the underworld somehow so the list was quite long.

Alice who had fallen asleep opened her eyes, she hadn't entered the battlefield since she was sleeping too lightly, she saw a picture of a young girl hugging an older man on Noah's laptop screen.

The girl was rather beautiful, but seemed familiar, 'I don't think I've met her? Where have I seen her?' Alice thought.

Just as Noah scrolled past, Alice got up, "Who's that girl?!"

Noah who had been reading stopped. "Which girl?"

Alice pointed to her, "This girl, who is she?" Alice had remembered where she had seen the girl. It was the future vision she had seen in which Noah didn't deny the scandal. It was this girl in the pictures with him.

Noah looked at the girl Alice pointed at, "Her? She's Aria Johnson..." Noah felt like something was off about Alice's reaction. She might have the wrong idea, well did seem like he was reading about some girl secretly in the middle of the night.

"I'm not interested in her, the man next to her in the picture, her father Chris Johnson, I'm reading up about him. He's a large investor and Real estate owner, the amount of assets he has is almost 200 billion. I've been invited to the Bou Gala next month in country B where he'll be giving a speech. I wanted to check if it was worth going."

He wasn't lying completely, he had recently gotten the letter but hadn't thought of going, however seeing that Chris was on the list of special guests he changed his mind.

Alice hearing this felt better, she hadn't noticed the man since she was constantly looking at the girl. She then asked Noah, "Do you think she's pretty?"

"Not pretty," Noah answered. He then looked at Alice, "How can I ever find anyone else pretty after seeing you?"

Alice remained silent. The compliment made her feel better internally but she didn't show it.

"Why are you so curious about her? Do you think I like her?" Noah asked smiling, he found Alice's jealously cute.

"SO what if I did? What are you gonna do about, humph," She then turned and laid back down.

She felt something was wrong, but had confirmed that the scandal was fake. As for why Noah hadn't denied it in another timeline she couldn't ask him. She fell asleep.

Noah beside continued to read up about Chris Johnson. Chris was currently the one with the most definite proof to be related to the matter. His father had found that he was part of a society called the Descendants of Eternals.

H had been able to get a complete phone history, from which he was able to decode a few of the highly encrypted ones. From all the messages two caught Noah's interest

...

One said, Martin, I believe you now, does the deal still stand? I'll have the contract for the F-36 ready for you by tomorrow. Get me access to the Battlefield. You were interested in the Heart of Roslina, I'm willing to sell it to you as well. Get me spots for my wife and daughter.

Martin, I'm disappointed. I thought that as long time friends you would be able to know my limits and close the deal. I've taken matters into my hand, you should be seeing the consequences of your actions. Learn well, don't make the same again.

...

Both were sent months apart but were related to the Eternal Battlefield. The first one was sent in January when the Eternal Battlefield first opened. This meant that this Martin fellow knew of the Battlefield before the opening of the Protected Zone like Alice's parents and their enemies.

He had researched it in libraries and books and apparently, the Eternal Battlefield does shoot out gates. There is normally only one that can allow a few amounts of people to directly enter a random location in the Eternal Battlefield. This meant you didn't need to go through the protected zone.

While 'get me access' was referencing the 'Access points'. The Access points were dropped on earth like shooting stars. It was just that many of them had landed in the ocean so they were difficult to find. It was likely that companies and governments were looking for them at the moment and selling spots in secret auctions.

What Chris Jhonson was offering was access to newly developed stealth combat aircrafts as well as a priceless necklace. It was a weird combination but both things were valued in the billions. It was easy to tell how valuable the access points were.

'I wonder if Father and Mother have entered yet,' But Noah knew well how adaptable they were. They didn't need his help, they had likely already entered or had come up with a plan to help the company adapt to the changes, minimise losses and even profit from the situation.

Other than the messages, through data taken from his web browser, H was able to find that Chris regularly visited a website on the deep web. He was only able to tell this much from the data he got, it was all encrypted so he didn't get anything too substantial.

H followed this lead and found more about this website. He was able to get images of Chris at the times when on the website from his phone to computer. From zoomed-in images, the website was like a game forum that was outdated. Most of what was written couldn't be found but the top had 'Explore the Eternal'.

The earliest image was from two years ago, this was long before the Protected Zone opened. This was solid evidence that Chris had something to do with the Eternal Battlefield before the Protected Zone opened.

Explore the Eternal was known to be developed by one person. Who then had it bought from larger companies. It seemed like that was all fake, it had been developed a long time ago. That is if it was the same as the one currently being used.

The next step in his plan to find Alice's parents was to find out more about this website or find this Martin person.

'It would be best if I could somehow get close to Chris and investigate him. I would be able to get the most information this way.' He looked at the information about his daughter he could use her for the plan but that would take too much time. Maybe in another future.

'I'll have to force him to cough up the information.' Noah thought that was the fastest way to do it before the worlds merged since things would get a lot more uncertain after it.
