Entrance to the Inner Mineshafts

Eidiri then walked up to the door, an air of nervousness surrounding him.

Then, he proceeded to knock on the door.

"Why you knocking on the door man?" asked Edgar. "Just bloody open it already!"

"It's only polite to knock," Eidiri comically said.

"Just get this over with already," said Ken.

"Yikes, so testy there," Eidiri replied.

Eidiri then reaches for the knob and twists it, it doesn't open as expected given the lock. It didn't hurt to try though.

Seeing as how this didn't work, Eidiri slammed his shoulder into the door, causing it to shudder a little.

Seeing as how it didn't give way yet, Eidiri slammed into the door again, causing it to shudder once again.

Eidiri's shoulder started aching quite a lot, therefore, Eidiri took Steel Song from its sheath, wielding it upside down grip.

Slamming the pommel into the door, cracks started appearing in the wood.

Several more hits and the wood started to give way.

Splinters flew off, luckily none of them hit any of the group.

With a bit of determination combined with a bit of persistence, the door finally gave way, blasting apart from the frame.

The inside of the room was covered with webs, nothing is spared. The almost ghost-like strands of webs crisscrossing across the room.

Sacs of eggs were left in the room, pulsating almost angrily. They covered the walls, laid on the floor, they were everywhere.

"Well this is one damn ugly mess," commented Edgar upon looking into the room.

"I've got matches, we can set this room on fire and say screw it," Ken suggested.

"We can't do that. If we set this room on fire, the fire will spread to the rest of the cabin as well. Who knows what else is here. Not to mention how we're currently inside the said cabin that you just suggested setting on fire," Eidiri said.

"We'll just do the old way and get our hands a little dirty, come on get to stabbing guys," Eidiri then said.

Walking up to one of the sacs, he stabbed it, cleanly letting the sword glide into it, bursting open the thin webbing that covered it.

The fluid of the unborn young splattered out onto the floor, slowly flowing and spreading throughout the room.

"This just feels wrong though. I get it like they're monsters and they'll probably grow up to kill or something, but it just seems wrong to kill these," Ken hesitantly said.

"I mean, you know they'll try to kill you, We shouldn't spare them either," Edgar said.

"I know that, it just seems wrong. Whatever," Ken said. "Time to get stabbing."

The three of them went around the room, clearing the webs and stabbing the eggs, as they did this they tiptoed around, trying not the get the fluids from the eggs on their boots.

"Doesn't seem like there's anything here. There's another doorway over there so we should check that out since everything here's clear," Eidiri said.

"This time, Ken you open the door. I cleared the one before."

"Ah screw you Eidiri," Ken said, walking towards the door before easily opening it. "Oh hey, this one's unlocked."

As soon as he said this, a dark blur streaked through the air before clinging onto Ken's face.

"Goddamn it! Goddamn it! Get it off! Get it off already!" yelled Ken.

Edgar and Eidiri ran forwards, trying to help Ken, However, they couldn't really use their weapons without risking Ken as well.

While Ken wouldn't necessarily die from a weapon strike from either of them, it would still hurt him decently enough that it would hamper their progress forward.

Eidiri kept walking forward, opting to not draw Steel Song, readying his fist, he just went up and walloped the little spiderling.

The spiderling had just been readying its fangs to plunge into Ken's veins before it was sent rocketing into the wall before it crumpled in a heap.

Edgar strolled past the duo, taking his weapon out before simply stabbing downwards, ending the pitiable existence of that spiderling.

Meanwhile, Ken had been sent reeling by Eidiri's punch, some of the spiderling's body fluids splattered on his face.

Stumbling backward, Ken asked, "Ay what the hell was that for?"

"You wanted it off your face right?" Eidiri rhetorically asked. "I got it off," he then said simply.

"Welp, let's keep going. We've got more to explore now," Eidiri then addressed them both.

The door that Ken had opened lead into a dim, narrow staircase, winding even further downwards. The walls were cold cobblestone, and the stairs were of old, fragile wood.

There were no railings either. If they were to head down those stairs, it would be without a doubt a dangerous task. The wood could fall underneath them at any moment, resulting in them falling towards their deaths.

Not to mention, if they were attacked on the stairs they would surely die.

Turning to them, Eidiri asked for Ken to give him a match. "Sure," Ken replied, rustling through his sack before handing him a small matchbox.

Eidiri then went to a broken chair, snapping off the broken legs and piling them into a small pile. He then struck the match and tossed it onto the woodpile.

"What are you doing there?" asked Edgar.

"You'll see, just watch," Eidiri replied.

When the fire had grown to a considerable size, Edgar and Ken backed away. Eidiri then walked to another dusty chair and hacked the leg off of this one, stuck it into the fire, and fashioned it into some sort of really low-quality torch.

Then he took this torch before tossing it into the stairway, of course, he didn't toss it onto the stairs, as that would see them afire, but rather he tossed it into the opening down the middle.

The light of the torch gave vision on the stairway as it fell, the floor was visible now to all of them, the fire wouldn't spread out of control thanks to the cold cobblestone either, so this solution was rather perfect.

Seeing that there was no immediate danger, Eidiri led Edgar and Ken down the stairs to see what they led to.

At times when Eidirii put his foot on a particular stair, it would immediately cave in and fall to the floor below. Luckily enough, Eidiri managed to keep his balance, avoiding falling to the floor below.

About 2/3rds the way down, the fire at the floor had burnt out, the only light coming from the other rudimentary torch that Eidiri was currently holding.

The still steadily made their way downwards, and upon reaching the bottom were greeted with a strange sight.

The stairway had led them to a railway system of sorts, probably for minecarts, these minecarts would probably lead them further into the mine, if they took these carts they would probably be able to obtain some valuable ores, especially given that Eidiri had been taught the mining skill.
