Kugo Village Defense, Calling All Reinforcements

In an aura of light, Eidiri respawned back at the village entrance.

Hurriedly, he started making his way back to Kugo Village, running as fast as he could.

However, before he recklessly charged right back into the fight, Eidiri backpedaled before running equally as fast to some of the guards that lined the walls.

As he ran back, everything began to blur, his vision tunneling straight onto his objective, securing some form of aid to Kugo.

While running, Eidiri also made sure to tell Edgar as well as Ken about the situation, both of them offering to help, but also saying that the situation was hopeless.

And without a doubt, the situation was most certainly helpless, but Eidiri replied, "I'll be damned if I don't at least try to do something about this. And even if do think that this thing would be a waste, just treat it as a farming trip."

Eidiri's teeth were grit as he watched Edgar say back to him, "You know, maybe the people do have something about you being too invested. Like, I know this is practically your life now, but seriously, don't you think you're getting just a bit emotionally invested in this game?"

"Like, you're fine with burning villages in other games but in here you're a saint? Like, I just don't get it man," Edgar said.

"I really don't know how to describe it. There's just something special about this game, I can feel it," Eidiri replied.

"It's like everything is real, to me at least. I don't know, the other games we played before just lacked something, I really don't know how to put it," Eidiri answered.

"But forget about that, are you coming to help or not?" he asked.

"Yeah sure, just give me a bit. I was doing some solo-farming before you dm-ed me. It's gunna take a bit to get there."

"Ken's coming also," Edgar said before leaving.

Having received that he would be getting some help at least, Eidiri continued to run towards Jugo Village, walking whenever his lungs begged for air.

He didn't stop for anything, rushing over to try to make the most out of what little time he had left.

His legs screamed for rest, but Eidiri kept trekking on, walking the beaten path without relent.

At times he would take a long drink from his canteen, the water dribbling down his chin as he kept on walking.

No matter what, Eidiri didn't allow himself to stop.

When he finally arrived at the crossroads, he spotted a group of players sitting there idly, presumably resting there for a quick minute before heading their own way.

Seeing them, an idea sparked off in Eidiri's head, 'Why not rope these players in to help in the effort?'

With this, he jogged up to them, panting heavily.

Without even needing to take the initiative to start the conversation, a young woman stood up from where she had been sitting.

"Hey, you good there?" she asked, "Calm down, what's the hurry."

Pasting this exaggerated mask onto his face, Eidiri dramatically said, "You have to help us! Kugo Village is in danger! Please lend us your aid adventurers!" he implored.

"What really?" the woman asked, "What's the danger?" she asked for further details.

"A monster horde, please, lend us your aid. These people will be left with no homes, no livelihoods, no roots if no one helps."

Looking back to her companions, the woman shrugged her shoulders before saying, "Screw it, why not? You guys wanna come?"

The companions got rowdy, banging their weapons and offering their cries of support.

"Yea!"

"Let's go!"

"Whoop!"

"Well then," the woman drawled on, "It appears that we are in on this. Shall you take the lead now?" she said inviting him to take the lead.

Eidiri continued jogging onwards, leading the way for the group to follow to Kugo.

When they had finally arrived, everyone's face was coated with a light sheen of sweat, panting heavily due to the exertion.

Without wasting any time, Eidiri started to go around the deserted houses in Kugo, trying to get materials to mount a defense.

As he did this, the members of the group he had just roped in stood there in place, weird expressions on their faces.

They glanceed at one another, daring each other to say what was all on their minds until the woman who had spoken before stepped up to the plate.

"Umm... I hate to say this, but where are the monsters?" she asked, "You told us there was some sort of big crisis with a monster horde and all that, but this place looks fine."

"Just give it a bit, the monsters are coming. We need to mount a defense," Eidiri said.

"Do not underestimate them by the way, there are cunning and tricky with powers that only exist in our imaginations," he advised while gathering a big pile of wood.

Then he pointed at some of the members of the group, "You guys there, help me gather wood, any kind will do. Just stack them along the inner rim of the gates."

The members he pointed at shuffled around, hesitant to just blindly listen to his commands.

Then, after a brief moment of dawdling where Eidiri had gone back to work, one of the members had had enough of the awkward tension and just moved forward to grab the wood.

Bringing another batch of wood to add to the pile, Eidiri saw the members now at work, then he addressed the rest of the group, "Now you guys can just do whatever you want. I really only have 1 idea for the defense of this place, and it really isn't that great. So if you guys come up with anything, feel free to implement it."

Then he turned around, heading into one of the open yards, snatching some of the firewood that had already been set out before flinging them onto the pile.

Whispers began to brew in the background, people voicing their doubts as to whether or not this really was legitimate.
