Chapter 11— 2001 - 2003

This time, it was Summer. April and May, came along with sunshine, green fields, water and beaches. I surveyed the area, there was so much to see. I finally had something to do with my time, Gardening!

Apples, cucumbers, lemon grasses, veggies, I had them all. A little garden was set up for me at the back of the house with enough space and fertile sand for plant growth. Something for once, made me happy!

I sold my farm produce through Martha a second maid, she'd help me sell my harvested work in a nearby market, she always came back successful! The fruits, herbs and veggies were fresh, inviting and healthy to all.

My father wrote to me a letter within the past year inquiring about my health and happiness, also a piece of advice to be kind to Mr Frank, but I never replied. I wanted him to know I had turned my back on him too, just like he did me.

I missed the hills and fields, the smell of the ranch, my brown little dark house, my library, Mr Sunny, my Father and most of all, David and his family. I thought maybe David had gotten the job and forgotten about me as he was lost in the happenings of Sydney city.

So much filled my 20 year old heart. It was once again April 20 and I flash back to a dress from my father. Frank and I never had a close relationship since our wedding. Sometimes he'd ask me to join him on his large bed as a couple or he'd ask me to lay with him, I'd refuse. I was scared and irritated by him, whenever I refused him, he'd insult me and lock me up for two days without food nor water. Emilia would pity me enough to sneak in food and water through a window.

Frank sometimes travelled to Sydney and other distant places, so I had few times away from him.

On a sunny day in May, I decided to take a long walk on the beach, then I sensed that someone was stalking me. I wore a bikini set with a windy multi-coloured long skirt that was torn from the waist line down, exposing my laps and legs. A pair of sunglasses was added to the combination. I still held my hair up with my ribbons and I felt ready for the beach, to refresh my mind and brighten my mood.

I could hear footsteps of that someone, I dared not look behind me, I walked faster, the steps fastened up too. I found a narrow path between two buildings and hid myself there, it was then I saw the person in a black long coat with sunglasses.

I couldn't forget that figure, that splendid hair, his scent, I could feel him and sense him. He was no stranger!

"David!" I spoke out to him as he stood there wondering about my whereabouts. Immediately he turned around, there he was after one whole year of wanting and longing for him, that was David!

"Susan, pretty Susan!"

"It's you Dave!"

"Yes it's me David!"

I ran to him and threw my hands around his neck. Frank was away, we were far off from the house and out of sight, quickly we ran to the beach and rested on the sand, enjoying the view and waves pushing closely towards our feet.

"I kept waiting David, you never came nor did you write to me".

"I did, Susan, so many times— the guards— ", the words seemed hard to complete.

"It was Frank, wasn't it?!"

"Yeah, his guards threw me out every time I came for you, I once sneaked in but I was caught. I wrote to you severally but it seems you never received any. I tried Susan, Frank kidnapped and threatened me never to come for you again. I'm very sorry Susan but I've never stopped loving you!"

"It's okay David, I believe you", just then I began to cry, "I'm not happy david, I'm not, every time I see him, I see a monster", I sniffed. "I thought I had lost you, Dave!"
