A Promise

-Five Hundred Years Ago; Airedale Village-

The snow had covered most of the land, leaving a white blanket as far as the eye can see. There had been buildings that looked to be built around the trees; most of the houses had bridges connecting to one of the other houses, while some looked to be man made, unlike the treehouses.

As it had been midday, the sound of a woman's scream could be heard. A small crowd of humans and elves alike had gathered around a house that had been made of wood and stone looking similar to that of a one floor cottage; the sound of the woman's scream could be heard inside.

A young elf woman laid in bed as she had been screaming in agony. The woman had long white hair and eyes that were orange as she had been wearing a simple white dress; a magical beast, which had been a large eagle like bird with four wings, sat at the woman's bedside as he looked to be comforting her as he gently nudged his head onto hers as he could tell she had been in pain.

For she was giving birth.

A couple of women, both human and elves, had been in the room as well. One of them had been placing a wet cloth on her forehead, while the other held her hand tightly. There had been a third who had been on the other end of the bed, as she had been helping her out.

The third woman had been an elf just like her, as she had the same white colored hair she did. Hers had been long but braided as it reached to her waist. There had been a couple of differences to the elf woman however. Her eyes had been light brown with lighter caramel complexion on her skin. She had on a grey jacket covering a blue shirt with brown pants and boots with armed shoulderpads and a spear on her back.

"Come on Alma!" She urged, "You're almost there! Push!"

The woman named Alma leaned back into the pillow as she cried out, "What--" She gasped, "--Does it look like I'm--doing Yukiko!?"

The elf named Yukiko said, "Well, you're not doing a good job at whatever it is you're doing!" She gasped as she shouted "I SEE THE HEAD! You're nearly there! One more push oughta do it!"

"It feels like I'm dying right now, damn it!" Alma couldn't help but yell, "I don't know if I can do it!"

Yukiko told her, "Come on, Alma! Just hang in there! Your baby's almost here!"

Alma soon let out another scream, this time it had been louder then the last. The moment her voice ceased a new one had made itself known. It had been the sound of a baby's cry. When Alma opened her eyes she saw Yukiko holding her little one as she had been quick to clean her up and wrapped them in a red blanket.

Yukiko said as she bounced the little baby, to calm her as she cleaned her and cut the umbilical, "There, there girl...It's okay. Your Auntie Yukiko's got you. I'm gonna give you to mommy, see?"

Yukiko brought the little baby over to Alma after she had wrapped her in a fluffy blanket. She carefully took her in her arms as she cradled her gently as she had been in tears. "Look at you little one…" Alma said gently as the baby's cries seemed to have calmed down. She noted the silver hair she had and her eyes being that of a lilac purple and that her ears had small points, "... You're so beautiful. Even more so than I imagined. Welcome to our world."

The bird brought itself down to the little baby; he tilted his head, so he had been looking at her as he made a curious noise.

"Be gentle Spirit." Alma told the creature, "She isn't like me… Not yet."

The creature--Spirit only rubbed his head against her small body as he ruffled his feathers; the baby giggled making the women in the room melt at the sight of it.

"Congratulations Lady Alma." Another Elf had said, "May the Heavens bless your child with good fortune."

"She will make things lively around here." The other woman who had been human said.

Yukiko added with a laugh as she wiped away her own tears, "She definitely will."

"Alma!"

They heard the door swing open before a familiar man ran into the room as he had been completely out of breath. The man had been human as he was in his mid twenties. He had platinum blonde hair and his eyes were purple. He had on a black and green robe with a set of dark brown pants underneath as he had on a dark blue cloak over his whole outfit; his robe around the chest area had an insignia of a clover.

"King Zeid!" The two women had said before they bowed their heads.

"Zeid…" Alma said with a relieved smile on her face, "... You're here. Thank goodness."

"Alma I--" The man named Zeid started to say before he had been cut off when he saw the look on Yukiko's face

Yukiko immediately went over and smacked him hard on the head, nearly knocking him over. She shouted, "YOU'RE LATE! HOW CAN YOU BE TARDY TO YOUR FIRST CHILD'S BIRTH! NOT EVEN MY HUSBAND WAS LATE TO WHEN I GAVE BIRTH TO OUT SON!!"

"I was at the Village border when Licht told me she went into labor!" Zeid argued, "What did you expect me to do!? We were driving away bandits!!"

Yukiko gave him another smack on the head as she shouted, "THAT'S NO EXCUSE! MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO TAKE ON TWO TRIBES OF BANDITS AND HE STILL MADE IT ON TIME FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL MOMENT!"

"You're bragging about that!?" Zeid yelled out of confusion.

"Lady Yukiko!" The Elf Woman said, as she held her back "Please don't raise your voice! The baby--"

Yukiko growled as she glared at Zeid as she cracked her neck, "I'm gonna teach you a lesson right now at this moment, Zeid!"

"Uh, perhaps we should give them privacy now?" The Elf's friend said, as she started to drag her away.

"Come now Lady Yukiko." The Elf woman told her, "We might need help to break up the crowd outside."

Yukiko shouted as she thrashed, "LET ME GO! LET ME AT HIS ROYAL POMPOUS ASS! I'LL BEAT HIM TO DEATH!"

Just before she could say anything more, the doors closed shut, as Zeid breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm very sorry." Zeid said apologetically, "But I was worried that if the Bandits--"

Alma merely motioned him to stop as Spirit made himself comfortable on the floor though didn't shut his eyes, "--I know. It's alright." She soon held her hand out to him, still keeping a firm hold on the baby, "Come meet our daughter."

Zeid couldn't help but laugh softly at this; he removed his cloak, setting it on a lounge chair, before he went over to her bedside. He looked at the baby as she had been looking at him curiously.

"A daughter…" He said as he couldn't help but poke her squishy cheek, "... We actually have a little girl."

"That we do, my love." Alma said, "That we do."

Zeid held out his finger towards the baby; the little one grasped it as his expression brightened. "She's like everything I dreamed." Zeid said, before he gave Alma a kiss on the cheek, "You did such a good job bringing her here."

Alma smiled at this as she leaned against his shoulder before the baby let out a yawn and shut her eyes. She soon handed her to Zeid as he had been taken back a little.

"It's alright, I know you won't hurt her." She said.

Instinctively, Zeid had cradled her, making sure her head had been supported.

"She's so small, and fragile." Zeid commented, before he noticed how her ears looked as he noticed the small points, "Do elves' ears normally look like that when they're babies?"

"No." She replied, "The elders of our tribe told me a couple of weeks ago that she was going to be between an elf and a human. She's the very first half-breed of our tribe."

At this Zeid couldn't help but look surprised, "Why didn't you tell me before?"

"I don't know." Alma replied with a shrug, "I guess, I just wanted to be sure that what the elders told me were true."

Zeid couldn't help but let out a sigh, though he wasn't angry with her or anything like that. He pulled himself up onto the bed, laying beside Alma, still holding the baby and having removed his shoes. Using his free arm, he placed it around her shoulders as he looked at their baby.

"That reminds me--" Zeid said, "--I think I thought of the perfect name for our child."

"Really now?" Alma asked him.

Zeid nodded, "You were having difficulty deciding while you were still carrying her. So I took the trouble of deciding for you."

"That's fitting--" Alma said, "--Considering that you were late according to Yukiko."

Zeid chuckled slightly as he made himself comfortable in the pillows. "Prism." He soon said with a smile, "Our child's name from this day forward will be Prism."

"Prism." Alma enunciated, before she gave another soft laugh, "I think that name fits--For our young Princess."

Alma soon drifted off into a slumber as Zeid smiled down at their daughter. "Prism--" He soon said, giving the baby a kiss on the cheek, "--You're going to do great things."

-Present; Grimoire Tower Hage Village-

Asta, Yuno and Feodora remained in shock about what they had just heard. In front of them, right before their very eyes; the young human elf girl before them was someone they had least expected. They just found it hard to believe really; they could've sworn it was something out of a dream.

"The--" Asta said as he looked at Prism, "--Lost Princess?"

"No way…" Feodora said, stunned.

"She's… Actually the real--?" Yuno said, shocked.

Revchi retracted his own magic as he chuckled, "Who would've guessed it? Many of us spent centuries searching for the Lost Heir to Clover! The one who was said to possess a strange little gift! Never did I imagine, it would be a little girl like you!"

Prism had been taken back by this, "Hey now, that's a bit uncalled for."

The chains soon floated around him as Revchi gave a laugh, "It is MY lucky day afterall! Not only do I get to take the four-leaf grimoire, but I get to kidnap the Lost Princess!!"

Prism soon took the hook swords out from her sheath as she was soon holding them in pairs. "You don't have to do this." Prism told him, "Return Yuno's Grimoire, and I'll let you go quietly."

Revchi gave out a laugh as he said, "You're kidding, right? That boy's grimoire is worth a fortune! I'm not giving this up! And with you, it'll be double--No triple that!"

"If you won't leave quietly--" Prism said as she readied herself, "--Then I'll make you."

"Go ahead and try!" Revchi said with amusement.

Revchi soon used his magic as chains started to fly towards her; they were surprised when Prism did the splits as she avoided the chains. She soon got herself up before she ran towards Revchi. He sent more chains in her direction and even had a couple of them come out of the ground, in an attempt to slow her down. Though she proved to be too quick as she managed to evade every single one, making the three of them look at her with such awe.

Prism slid underneath Revchi before she hooked her blade on his ankle, forcing him to flip over. With a leap she kicked him hard in the stomach making him gag.

The moment her feet touched the ground more of the chains came out from the wall. Prism moved with ease as she blocked the others with her blades; she even used her hook swords to ride along the chains before she kicked him right in the face.

"She's--She's beating him…" Asta said, shocked.

"This kid--" Feodora said, "--She's something else."

Revchi growled before he turned several pages within the Grimoire as he glared at the young girl. "You're gonna pay for that!" He shouted before he yelled, "CREATION MAGIC! DANCE OF THE PITLESS PIPERS!"

"PRISM! LOOK OUT!" Yuno shouted.

Several chains soon emerged from the ground and the walls as it had suddenly surrounded Prism, and it took her by surprise. The chains would've sliced her to bits, were it not for a familiar light blue blast that had burned away the metal.

A familiar raptor soon came running around the corner.

"Adrien!" Prism, Yuno and Feodora exclaimed with relief.

Adrien let out a roar as he charged at Revchi; he didn't have time to contemplate as Adrien delivered a headbutt, giving him a couple of fresh gashes thanks to his small horns. Revchi stood his ground as he attacked with his chains, though Adrien proved to be quick as he caught a rope of chain with his teeth before he whipped Revchi with his tail.

Prism gave a laugh, "Atta boy Adrien!"

She soon ducked and covered when another set of chains attacked her. Adrien quickly went to her aid, as he fired balls of energy at the chains that came towards them.

Asta had been watching as the two of them worked well together, and yet at the same time, he couldn't help but feel a bit envious. He started to think to himself, "Man, Prim's giving all she's got despite not having magic…!" His expression soon changed as he looked to the floor, "She's lucky… Meanwhile, even without magic… I couldn't do anything… I'm… I'm just worthless."

Prism soon jumped on Adrien's tail before he launched her from him; she landed just on his chest before she kicked herself off him. She soon grabbed his cape and put it over his head, covering his face before she thrusted her blade into the ground causing his cape to get stuck. He started to struggle as he let out muffled screams.

"Since you're not willing to play nice--!" Prism said before she undid the chains on Yuno's Grimoire, "--I'll be taking this back!"

She managed to get the chains off as she took the Grimoire in her hands. She soon ran over to Yuno as she started to look him over. "You okay?" She asked, "He didn't hurt you too bad, did he?"

Yuno didn't give her a direct answer as he said, "You're--the Princess."

"Yeah, yeah I know!" She said with an awkward smile, "Big surprise! I get that alot!"

"You have got A LOT of explaining to do, ya know!" Feodora told her, "Don't think you can drop this!"

"Alright, alright!" She told them, "I'll tell you everything, but right now, I gotta focus on getting you out of here!"

She soon took the chains as she started to pull on them, trying to at least get them loosened. Adrien did the same to Feodora as he started to pull on her chains with his mouth. Though no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't get it to budge.

"Damn it!" Prism said, "Come on! Come on!"

"Can't you use the hook swords to slice the chains!?" Feodora said, "Aren't swords able to cut through anything!?"

"Okay first off--" Prism said as she pulled harder using Yuno's body for support, "--My swords may be handy, but they're not that handy! They're not strong enough to cut through pure steel and iron! Second--" She grunted slightly, "--Even if they were, they're not laced with magic! Hence why, I'm pulling as hard as I can!"

"Prism!" Yuno told her, "You have to get out of here! You don't have magic, remember?!"

She shook her head at this, "Sorry pal, but I'm not leaving any of you behi--!"

Prism had been cut off with a scream, as she found something piercing her side, causing her to freeze up and let go of the chains. Much to Yuno and Fedora's horror they saw that a chain had been responsible for it. She was soon tossed to the wall almost landing on Asta as she screamed out of agony as the chain removed itself. They saw that Recvhi had been standing there, as his cape had been ripped and he had been holding her hook blade. He used his chains to pick up Yuno's Grimoire again.

"PRISM!" Yuno and Feodora shouted.

Adrien let out a screech as his eyes changed. He let out a roar as he went to charge at him again; this time he had been baring his teeth at him.

"Not this time!" Recvhi said.

The chains emerged from the ground, instantly wrapping around his legs and around his mouth as he had been pulled to the ground hitting it hard.

"ADRIEN, NO!" Prism shouted before she screamed when Recvhi pressed his foot against her wound.

"That was a really good show!" Recvhi said, "Too bad, I was planning to bring you unharmed, but you forced my hand. It's your own fault you know!"

Prism screamed as she felt Recvhi press his foot harder on her open wound. Feodora's glare seemed to have intensified, as she struggled harder against her restraints. Yuno had a cold look as he started to do the same; Asta however didn't even flinch as she cried. Adrien did his best to get out of his own restraints, as he growled aggressively.

"YOU DAMN COWARD!!" Feodora shouted, "GET THE HELL AWAY FROM HER!"

Recvhi soon said to her as he started to kick at her, "Why did you even risk your own life for these peasants!? You're basically royalty! You're above them! You shouldn't spend your time with rats like them!"

Prism felt tears come to her eyes as he pressed harder on her wound. "It--" She started to say, "It doesn't matter--! I'm--A living person, just like them! It shouldn't matter if I'm royalty or not! They're my friends!"

She was soon kicked hard in the stomach as she was soon grabbed by her hair. "Oh, what do you know about these people?" Recvhi said, "Compared to you they're nothing! Especially the brat with no magic!" Recvhi had gestured to Asta as Prism noticed that he had been lifeless like a doll, "I mean, to think someone pathetic like that even existed! He won't be able to find a job let alone become the Wizard King!"

"You don't know tha--!" Prism started to say before her head had been rammed into the wall, breaking her nose instantly.

Recvhi couldn't help but give out a laugh, "You haven't been around them for very long have you? I bet even their friends make fun of him for not having magic!"

"Yeah… Maybe." Asta thought, "Feodora was able to get her Grimoire, and Yuno… He's just amazing. He was chosen by a four-leaf Grimoire. I'm just…"

"He can't do anything in this world!" Recvhi continued, "If anything, he should just give up, before he can even try! Face it! He was BORN a loser!"

"That's not true!" Prism argued.

"He's right…" He thought again, "... No matter how hard I try, some things just can't be helped. I can't be like Yuno… I can't be like Feo… I can't even hold my ground like Prism…" His eyes started to close shut, "... I should… Give up…"

"Hey! Who are you calling a loser!?"

Most of them had been taken back as Yuno had been the one to get Recvhi's attention. "Yuno?" Prism said shocked.

"Asta!" Yuno said, "It's true that you won't be able to become the Wizard King, no matter what!"

"That's supposed to help how!?" Prism shouted out of confusion.

"You hear that?" Recvhi taunted, "Even your little friend is telling you it's impossible."

"That's because--" Yuno soon said, "--I'M going to become the Wizard King!"

At this most of them looked a bit surprised, all except for Feodora as she had a smile on her face. "He's no loser--!" Yuno said, "--Asta… Is MY rival!"

The life in Asta's eyes seemed to have returned as something in his head just triggered. "Huh, your rival?" Recvhi said, as he rubbed his foot on Prism's side, as he pointed to Asta, "THAT brat who has no magic whatsoever?"

"You don't know a damn thing about him, asshole!" Feodora said, "Asta takes crap from no one! Especially from the likes of you!"

Recvhi gave a laugh, "Oh really!? A loser like him!? He can't do anything but--"

Recvhi had been taken back when he felt a hand on his ankle. He looked and saw it had been Asta, who had a glare towards him.

"Not… Yet..." He said, "... I'm not… Done yet!!"

Asta soon gave Recvhi one hard shove as he made him stumble while Prism looked to Asta with awe as he stood in front of her in a protective way. He wiped away the blood from his mouth as he had his head to the ground.

"Yuno, Feodora, Prism…" Asta started to say, "... Sorry, you had to see this pathetic side of me. Just wait a second--" He soon picked up his head, as he gave Recvhi a look filled with determination, "--I'm gonna kick this guy's butt!"

Everything around them seemed to have changed; the twilight sky seemed to have disappeared as a strange blue light appeared, and red lights in the form of snowflakes appeared as they floated towards the sky. Asta had been nearly blinded by a red light in front of him as had been Prism.

The moment he opened, he had been shocked when he saw it had been--

"--A Grimoire…?" Asta said shocked as he noticed how dirty the book had been. The only thing he could make out was the fact that it had a five leafed clover.

"I knew it!" Yuno said with a smile, "There's no way Asta wouldn't have been chosen!"

"Go for it Asta!" Feodora cheered, "Kick this guy's ass all the way to the King himself!"

The book soon opened to a certain page before they had been taken back when a sword emerged from it's pages; it floated in the air before it thrusted itself into the ground just in front of Asta.

"A… Sword?" Prism said shocked.

Recvhi had paled at this as he had been in mere disbelief, "You're--Magic? N-No! That can't be right! You don't have any magic on you! What in the world is that Grimoire!? JUST WHO ARE YOU!?"

As if he had been on adrenaline, Asta had stood up and took the handle of the sword and pulled it out from the ground as he readied himself.

"YOU WRETCHED LITTLE THING WITH NO MAGICAL POWERS!" Recvhi shouted, as he dropped Yuno's Grimoire and more chains appeared from behind him.

Asta's veins popped from his arms before he took a swing from his sword. Before their very eyes they saw that the chains had vanished in an instant.

"He--Nullified my magic!?" Recvhi exclaimed.

"That just now--" Prism said in awe, "--Was that--Anti-magic?"

Suddenly Prism felt what appeared to be a heartbeat, as the red lights had started to gather around her. She stood as soon, the red lights started to surround her.

"What's--"

"YOU LITTLE BRAT!!" Recvhi shouted, "CREATION MAGIC! DANCE OF THE PITLESS PIPERS!!"

Several chains appeared over their heads as they readied to take Asta out in a single blow. "ASTA!" Yuno and Feodora shouted.

"Oh crap!" Asta exclaimed as he found there was no way for him to block the attack. Recvhi gave a deranged laugh as he said, "TAKE THAT, YOU RAT!"

Prism's eyes widened as before her very eyes played a familiar yet fuzzy scene in her head. Her look changed slightly as she gritted her teeth. "Leave him--ALONE!!" She shouted.

The red spheres soon gathered next to her, as suddenly another Grimoire one with five leaves like Asta's appeared; though the Grimoire hadn't been in a mess like his, as the cover had been in the color of a lead black color with a light gray silhouette of a dragon as it glowed a ruby red color; the silhouette looked like it had been about to consume the clover in the middle.

As the pages turned a weapon appeared; she instinctively took a hold of the handle as she pulled it out from the pages as her left eye turned white with her pupil became narrow and silted. The scythe she had taken hold of had been that of a large scythe as along where the blade had connected there appeared to be a dragon's skull that had been cracked and it's eyes glowed a dim white glow.

She leaped high above Asta's head before she swung the scythe hard and fast; in an instant the chains had suddenly turned to that of dust; the moment her feet touched the ground, the dust flowed into the scythe's eyes as it glowed vigorously.

"WHA--WHAT!? IMPOSSIBLE!!" Recvhi shouted.

Prism looked to the scythe as she had been in pure shock, by the weapon in her hands; she could feel the weight on it, as it had been as light as a feather. She had been left completely unaware that her eye had changed to white as her pupil had been silted and narrow; she had been in awe of the weapon in her hands.

"Whoa…." She said as she looked at the scythe, "... What.. Is this…?"

Asta soon noticed the change in her eye, as his eyes widened with shock. "That color--" Asta thought, "--It's the same as it was when we found her in that tree…!"

"Wh-what the?!" Recvhi exclaimed "I'm seeing not only one...but--TWO ANTI-MAGIC BRATS?!"

Asta nor Prism didn't understand what had been happening to them, though at that moment they didn't seem to care. They both took the handles of their weapons before they charged at him, as Recvhi felt the fear rise in his body.

"Even without magical powers--!" They both started to say.

"--I'll protect the people that are precious to me--!" Prism soon said.

"--I'm going to become the Wizard King--!" Asta had added.

They both swung their weapons at Recvhi as he had no way to block their attacks.

"Not giving up--!" They both shouted, "--IS OUR MAGIC!!"

With an aggressive force, they hit him hard and fast as it caused Recvhi to fly and hit the wall behind him creating a huge gust of wind, nearly knocking Feodora and Yuno over despite them still being tied in chains. When they recovered they saw that he had been knocked out cold as he had a wound on his head. They saw their chains soon became undone as they found themselves moving again.

The strange lights seemed to have disappeared and the dandelions and the twilight sky returned.

Prism soon turned Asta as they both smiled and laughed at what they had just done; though their laughter ceased when Prism fell to her knees. The scythe vanished from her fingertips and the Grimoire fell to her side; Asta quickly went over to her, as did Adrien seeing as how he had been freed from the chains.

"Are you okay!?" Asta said after he caught hold of his book, and the strange sword disappeared.

Prism gave a laugh, as she turned to him; he noticed her eye had been back to normal, "I feel like I should be asking you that." She held her side as she cringed a little, though she still couldn't help but smile, "That was really cool Asta."

Asta gave an awkward laugh as he said, "I built up my muscles since I couldn't use any magic. Guess it turned out pretty handy!"

"I'll say." Prism replied.

Adrien gently nudged Prism's hand out of the way before he gave her wound a couple of licks causing her to flinch slightly though she allowed it. "Thanks bud." Prism said, scratching underneath his chin. Adrien made a purr like noise, before he turned to Asta.

He jumped when he licked him on the side of the head where his own wound had been as he let out a scream. "ADRIEN!?" Asta shouted when the raptor pulled back, "WHAT THE HECK!? YOU GOT MY HEADBAND ALL--Huh?"

Surprisingly enough, Asta didn't feel his headache; in fact, it was like his wound wasn't even there. "It doesn't hurt anymore?"

"Raptor saliva." Prism clarified as she gave Adrien another pat, "It works wonders for itches and injuries." She soon shrugged innocently, "I mean, it doesn't exactly close up a wound, but at least you don't gotta worry about an infection for awhile!"

At this Asta's eyes sparkled, "WOW! AWESOME! IS THERE ANYTHING YOUR RAPTOR CAN'T DO!?"

Feodora couldn't help but smile at this sort of thing as did Yuno after he had picked up his Grimoire. Neither of them didn't know what just happened, though they didn't seem to care. They just seemed pretty happy with the outcome at the fact not only did their childhood friend get his own Grimoire…

… But so did the apparent young Princess.

-Later that Night-

After they waited for the Magic Knights to take Recvhi away they returned to the Church. Prism had her wound treated thanks to Sister Lily's magic though she ended up having her dinner in the room which they all shared. Just so she didn't feel lonely, they all decided to eat dinner with her like they were having a picnic outside.

At first, Father Orsi had objected, however he made an exception just for the night. Though after everything was said and done, Prism knew what was coming next.

She was thankful that neither Asta, Yuno or Feodora didn't say anything about what they heard from before, and was especially thankful that they wanted to talk to her in private. Right now, they had the whole room to themselves as she sat on the mat they were kind enough to provide her with.

Adrien had surprisingly been big enough to fit into the room as he had been sitting beside Prism, with his head resting on her lap, while Asta, Yuno and Feodora had sat across from her.

Feodora had been the first to speak up as she took a deep breath, "So… What that guy said about you being the long lost Princess… Is it true?"

Prism only nodded her head in reply.

"I still can't believe--" Asta said, "--We have a Princess. An ACTUAL Princess here!" He soon sighed, "I guess now we know where you've been this whole time."

"You've heard about me?" Prism asked, surprised.

"Well not exactly." Asta replied, "We often heard about you in a storybook Sister Lily used to read to us when we were kids. It talked about the Elves too."

"If you don't mind me asking--" Yuno said, "--Why didn't you tell us you were the lost heir in the first place?"

Prism sighed as she hugged Adrien; they noticed she had a sad look in her eye. She eventually found herself answering with a bit of hesitation, "It's because… I never wanted to be."

Asta, Feodora and Yuno looked shocked at this sort of thing. They knew from Feodora, it was great to be born of royalty, but being a princess or a King of a country, it was the equivalent of having the whole world at their fingertips; not to mention they could have anything they wanted in the world. As if she had read their thoughts she gave them the answer they wanted.

"I'm the only human-elf ever to be born among the elf tribe." Prism started to say, "My mother was a warrior chief, and my father was a human who possessed dark magic. He wasn't just any human though. I guess you would know him as the Knight of the Shadows."

"Your father was King Zeid Clover!?" Asta asked, shocked as his eyes sparkled.

"Yeah." She replied, "My father and uncle wanted to have peace between the Elves and the humans after--" She had been slightly hesitant as she had bit her bottom lip, "--Someone who was going to be my uncle saved my aunt from a tornado made from the wild magic in our land. After he met and married my mother, she helped him create the first village where humans and elves could co-exist, and--I was meant to be the bridge between our worlds so that we could finally complete the treaty."

"... What happened?" Fedora asked her, "Did you end up running away?"

"No, nothing like that!" Prism replied, "Well, how can I put this? All of my life I spent my time in the Village of Airedale along with my mother. I've never seen other Villages within the Clover Kingdom or even the capital itself. My father couldn't stay as he had to keep the Kingdom of Clover from going out of control and falling into chaos. He would often come back to the Village every now and again to spend time with me. The only time when I ventured outside of the Villages border was when father took me to see the other Kingdoms, where I befriended the people there. Royalty and commoners alike really. The one place he never took me to however was the Kingdom my father ruled."

"But why?" Yuno asked, "The capital is, technically you're home considering who your father was."

"He told me because most people in the kingdoms didn't see Elves as people." She explained, "He told me that they feared us because of the incredible magic we had, and it was something they didn't understand. That's why they were scared. How do you think they would react when they heard their only heir had an elf heritage?"

Asta, Yuno and Feodora couldn't help but have the same thought, "She's got us there."

Prism soon continued, "Father said when I came of age and had gotten them to understand, he would take me to see his Kingdom. Don't get me wrong I was really excited to see it, and not to mention I was excited to actually be a Princess with my aunt. What girl wouldn't want to be one? Plus I like to help people no matter what kind of trouble they're in. I mean, if the citizens of Clover are my father's people than that makes them my people too!" They soon saw her expression saddened again, "But… That all seemed to change, when my father's advisors started to come."

"Your father's advisor?" Asta said, "Did something happen between you and them?"

"More like it happened between my family." Prism replied, "When I was ten, the advisors told them, they thought it would be best for me to learn the proper way to be royalty if I went back to the Clover Kingdom with them. But… That would mean, I would have to be apart from the people I loved. I wouldn't even be able to see father, uncle or auntie who already lived in the kingdom. I wouldn't be like a normal kid. The advisors even said… It wasn't healthy for me to be with people that had been in a lower form than dirt."

The three of them looked shocked once again. They just couldn't believe they were going to take Prism away from her own home where she would never hope to see the people she cared about. What's worse, she would be apart from her parents.

Asta gritted his teeth as his look hardened, "That's terrible.! How can they judge them like that?! Even after he chose to marry someone who wasn't of royalty!?" He calmed down as he said "All the more reason I'm gonna be wizard king so that everyone can live in harmony! Royal or not!"

"I felt the same way Asta!" Prism said, "I didn't like that they referred to my own people like that, and I certainly didn't like how they insulted my parents! I tried to tell the advisors otherwise, but they wouldn't have any of it. I just kept getting shot down with every turn."

"This is exactly the kind of reason why my own parents gave up on royalty a long time ago." Feodora said, "They're nothing but crooks and liars."

Asta added with a growl, "The worst scum of all!"

"I guess your parents helped you stay in your village?" Yuno asked.

"Yeah." Prism replied with a smile, "You guys should've seen them when mother and father gave them an earful. They told them off pretty good. They kept on defending me when the advisors came again and again. But… Sometimes, even my father wished that we weren't born of royalty. We could at least have a normal life where they would leave us alone."

Asta soon had a smile on his face, "Your parents are really good people."

"They certainly are." She said as Adrien let out a purr.

"Still--" Yuno soon said, "--No offense, but being a Princess isn't something you can't just revoke. As the lost heir, you're the person that's destined to take the throne as the true ruler."

"The know it all is right." Feodora said with a sigh, "You can't exactly give up on that."

"I know." She said, "But--" She started to twiddle her thumbs a little as she said, "--I'm a bit five hundred years too late for that, don't you think?"

"It doesn't matter." Yuno replied calmly, "It is your birthright."

"Plus the kingdom ain't exactly so perfect either." Feodora said, "There's a serious divide when it comes to peasants and royalty, not to mention the nasty activity that goes on even in the Magic Knights. I don't know what the hell that damn King is smoking but he sure as hell ain't doing his job keeping the peace."

"But I wouldn't know the first thing about the Kingdom now." Prism admitted, "Plus I wouldn't even know where to begin about your history, and what became of my people and--Where my village might be." She sighed as she ruffled her hair, "I doubt your library will give me the answers I need."

Asta soon had a thought come over him, "Hey! I think I got another good idea!"

"Huh?" The three of them said.

Asta gave his book a pat, "Now that you and I have our Grimoires, you can come with us to the Magic Knights exams!"

"You mean those entrance exams?" Prism asked, surprised.

"Hold on a sec shorty!" Feodora said, "You want HER to become a Magic Knight? Won't that raise some red flags considering who she is?"

Asta raised his eyebrow, "What do you mean?"

"Hello Dum-Dum?" Feodora said, "That chain guy from a few hours ago? He didn't just come here for Yuno's Grimoire, he came here to take Prism to who knows where to sell her off to the highest bidder! And it didn't matter if she had magic. If we end up sneaking her in there's a chance she's gonna be put at more risk."

"What I don't understand is how that guy could've found me here." Prism wondered aloud, "I basically woke up in the middle of nowhere, with Adrien. It doesn't make sense."

"The tree we found you in--" Yuno soon answered, "--It released some sort of wave of mana when we broke it apart to get you out. That must've been what brought that guy here in the first place."

Prism's eyes widened in shock, "I had no idea…"

"Look, that guy said, he was a Magic Knight till they kicked him out. We're not sure who we can trust, even if they are Magic Knights or hell, even a Captain." Feodora said, "And to top it all off, if there's a chance she gets discovered, who knows what kind of people are gonna come and attack the Kingdom just to get to her, and who even knows what they might do to her, especially those bastards from the Diamond Kingdom."

Prism couldn't help but have a worrisome look on her face. She didn't want to get hurt or killed, though what scared her the most was the potential lives that would be put in danger. She didn't want to be responsible for all of that blood. She didn't want anyone to suffer though--

"Then we'll make it so no one finds out!" Asta soon said with a smile, "We'll make it so, we'll be the ones protecting her!"

Prism looked to Asta as she had been in shock by this sort of thing as he had a look of determination.

"What happens if we're not put in the same squad as her?" Feodora asked.

"Then we'll just find a way to make it all work out!" Asta said.

"You'd really do that--" Prism started to say as she had been shocked, "--You'd risk everything you want to work for… For me?"

Asta nodded his head, as he smiled, "Of course! It's like you said earlier--We're your friends."

Prism's eyes brightened slightly at this as she couldn't help but turn a little red with embarrassment. She couldn't help but give Asta a hug; Asta had been taken back a bit though he hugged her back as he gave her a couple of pats.

"I'm so glad--" Prism said honestly, "--That such kind people like you found me!"

"You're welcome!" Asta said with a smile. Though both had been knocked over on the floor when Adrein started to lick them, making them both laugh.

Feodora gave a slight chuckle, "Ah what the hell? If the shorty says he can make it happen, then I'm in."

"I'M NOT THAT SHORT!!" Asta shouted as he broke up the hug suddenly, making Prism and Adrien jump; even the Spirit Guides that had been outside the window or on the ceiling jumped at this sudden outburst.

"I guess we have no choice." Yuno said, with a smile, "Prism--"

Prism sat herself up as she looked at Yuno with curious eyes. "--Whatever happens in the entrance exams, know that we're gonna be here for you. We'll make sure nothing bad happens to you or anyone else"

Prism's expression brightened at this before she smiled, "Thank you! All of you! This means so much to me!"

"Well for the record, we're the only people you've met." Feodora said in a joking manner, making Prism giggle a little. The Spirit Guides on the ceiling came down, as what looked to be a bird with its tail feathers made of the wind rested on her head, while what looked to be that of a monkey came onto her shoulder; they appeared to be just as happy as she was.

"Oh--" Yuno said, "--That reminds me--" He soon turned to Asta, "I didn't get a chance to thank you for saving my life, again. I'll pay you back someday."

Asta looked at him oddly before Yuno asked, "Do you remember the promise we made when were kids?"

Asta smiled as he rubbed the back of his head, "You mean YOU remember it? I thought this whole time you were making fun of me."

"You should know--" He soon said, "--I have no interest in being too friendly with my rival, but you're the one who gave me hope. Even if you're poor, or an orphan… Or even us… We can become greater than anyone else in this world. And to prove that--"

"--To make Sister and everyone else happy…" Asta said as he stood.

The two of them soon exchanged in a fist bump, "LET'S SEE WHO CAN BECOME THE WIZARD KING!"

Feodora smirked at this sort of thing, and though Prism didn't understand she couldn't help but smile too. "Those two seemed to really get along with each other, huh?" Prism asked Feodora.

Feodora gave a chuckle as she replied with a shrug, "More than you know… Princess."
