Hopefully For The Last Time

Penelope had to go pick Percy up from work now that Iris needed her car back. He had been using rideshares to get around this week and found it both expensive and terribly inconvenient.

She felt guilty that he was wasting money on her behalf but he insisted it was fine since he was doing this for his Penny. She picked him up yesterday too but he had to use rideshares on Monday and Tuesday.

"How was your day?" Penelope asked when he got into the car.

"Fine. Now drive. I don't want to miss even a second of our time window," Percy said curtly.

She needed no further encouragement and went as fast as she could without risking being pulled over. He jumped out of the car before she could even turn it off and very quickly took the readings that determined the rift was active.

Percy began frantically tapping out a message she couldn't understand on the railing with a rock. He repeated this several times with about five minutes in between.
