Shelly smiled, apparently pleased by her answer. "Well put. I looked through your portfolio and I must say that it is quite impressive despite your lack of degree. What can you bring to this company that other candidates cannot?"

Penelope wracked her brains, trying to find the right words. What had she said that got her hired at the advertising firm way back when? 

"Unlike a lot of fellow creative minds I know, I am detail-oriented and organized. I always complete what needs to be done quickly without sacrificing quality in the process. I am both passionate about what I do and a hard worker." 

She hoped that was enough. She couldn't think of anything else off the top of her head. 

"What would you expect your salary to be?" Shelly asked. 

"I was making $15 an hour at my last job and hope to be able to make at least that much here," Penelope said straight-forwardly.
