Why Would She Do That For Me?

Penelope blinked, disoriented, as her eyes adjusted to the lack of light. What happened? She had been under the bright fluorescent lights of the hospital room the nurse on the phone told her to go to just a minute ago but now it was dark.

"Penny?" Percy's voice asked worriedly from somewhere nearby. "Is that really you? Tell me something only my Penny would know."

She looked up and saw that he was standing about ten feet away in front of his car in the parking lot of her apartment complex. Her heart sunk. No way. How did she end up back here? She was supposed to be stuck in the other world forever!

Penelope wanted to scream her frustration at the sky but her little brother was gazing at her with an anxious expression so she had to answer him calmly. "When you were in third grade, you blew up the microwave while Mom was out and Dad and I took you to the store to buy an exact replacement so she would never know."
