Neither of them ended up saying anything again until the mechanic came out and told her what was wrong. "Yeah…I hate to tell you this, but I don't even know where to start with what's wrong with your car. At this point, it would probably be cheaper to replace it than get everything fixed."

"Great," she deadpanned before turning to Roman. "This is a lot more than you bargained for so don't feel obligated. I'll figure something out. Thanks for the tow."

He frowned. "I'm a man of my word. I said I'd cover repairs so I'm covering repairs. How much?"

The mechanic seemed surprised. "Uh, like three grand give or take a few hundred dollars." 

"Not a problem. Go ahead with the repairs."
