Percy Had Been Right

Penelope couldn't hold herself back anymore. Even if it was hard, even if it made her completely miserable at times, she didn't know how to say no to this. Roman was every bit as kind as he had been in the other world.

It was time for her to start trying to make new memories. She had only known the other one for a month, after all.

Originally, her justification had been that she would be able to replace her alternate self properly after eighteen years in the parallel world. Her world's Roman could definitely replace one month's worth of memories and everything she read in those journals if she gave him the chance.

Percy had been right. It had been stupid of her to put things off. She had been in denial. If she was meant to be with Roman in any world, she would simply have to deal with any negative feelings lingering from before.
