Chapter 2

Inside the a planet that shined with a eerie red glow, in the deepest parts of 'The Crater' was a baby. It was boy that looked about a year old with a height of 2 feet , it would look adorable if it wasn't for the hundreds of skeletons littered all over the ground and the flashing red screen on above his body.

As the AI tried to deal with the lack of communication, the baby slowly opened his eyes. He had onyx eyes that scanned his surroundings curiously, before switching its attention to the many words above its head. He raised his tiny arms up to try and touch the flashing screen.

The baby curiously turned its onyx eyes towards the flashing red light atop its head, he stretched out his chubby little limbs but was still too short to touch. But he was derermined, so slowly attempted to stand up. It took him a couple of tries but by the fifth time he was able to stand, which is shocking for a normal week old toddler, however the last thing this baby was, was normal.

The baby tried touching the screen many times, just for his hand to faze through time and time again. With frustration he sat down and through a tiny at the ground. What came next massive boom, followed by a surprised yelp from the boy. What was left where the fist had landed was a massive indention that spanned 20 yards.

All whilst the system continued its emergency protocol.

[Cave detected 20 feet away]

After the initial surprise passed the little boy, almost as if understanding the system turned towards his right, and there it was.

The Cave wasn't big, only about 2 yards tall and 3 yards wide, the system continued with its notifications.

[Life detected inside cave]

The little boy didn't need the system to detect the life inside the cave, he had sensed it the moment he looked at the cave. He rushed to it, sometimes walking sometimes crawling, because since his birth this was the first time he had felt such deep rooted attraction to something, a hunger. He continued up the cave, as it had a sorta upwards inclination. About ten yards in he found the source of his attraction. It was a group of four lizards, they had pale skin and three pale eyes. The shortest among them was about a foot long, while the longest was a yard long.

The group turned to the small creature that had just entered the cave. They usually wouldn't have ventured so deep into the inner area, but because the last group sent had yet to return, they were sent to check what had happened.

This was a week ago, but because during this time they had heard many mournful screams and cries, they hesitated. They were about to go back to tell the pack that this area was another possible danger zone, when the little creature emerged.

*****

The little boy continued towards the lizards, before finally placing his hand on top of one's head. The lizard, felt an indescribable attraction to the creature, so it allowed it to touch them.

Then the boys eyes changed from the original onyx, to a deep black. He opened his mouth showing rows of teeth covered with various esoteric markings. Not only his teeth, as a matter of fact if one looked closely enough, one could see these esoteric marking vaguely appearing all over the boys body.

The creatures felt then what had caused the numerous mournful cries over the past week and then... there was no then for them, it was instant. Before they even knew it everything, except for their bones, vanished into the boys bottomless maw.
