Pleasant Surprise

Gaofeng returned to the Pale Leaf Merchant guild's manor shortly thereafter, and explained the details of his promise to his hosts. The elderly couple readily agreed to send for the best medical expert they knew of, and shortly after a medical expert was sent to the address of the siblings. Gaofeng didn't show up personally, and would rather just listen to the details after the fact.

Gaofeng first entered his room and locked the door before he took out the spacial pouch and the other box he had gained. He suspected that these incredibly valuable items were of such a high grade that even the Observation Hall didn't know of their true function, which was the reason they were put up for grabs by anyone. Otherwise, no amount of the black prisms could purchase an Ancient spacial pouch.

There was a general universal way of finding out the way to open the ancient spacial pouch, but it wasn't something which could be done in a minute. Rather it would usually take about an hour or two, depending on the person, to open an ancient spacial pouch that didn't belong to them. After opening the pouch for the first time, however, they would be able to instantly open and close it at will in the future.

The reason there was no easy way to instantly open the pouch was naturally for security reasons. No great cultivator would want someone else to be able to instantly open their spacial pouch, so instead there was only a general method, with each pouch having some unique subtleties which had to be felt out through observing the unique patterns with one's soul. In that way, one could slowly crack the code required to open the pouch at will.

Gaofeng utilized his soul to analyze the symbols on the pouch, as a way to find the true method to opening up the pouch. It was strenuous task for Gaofeng to shift the symbols around to make the correct pattern to unlock it, as although Gaofeng's soul was very powerful for its level, he was still not even in the qi-gathering stage, and thus the quantity of soul-power readily available to him was miniscule compared to cultivators of higher ranks. Gaofeng excelled in quality, not quantity.

After another hour of attempting to open the pouch, Gaofeng was finally able to move one specific symbol which had seemed unmovable for the last thirty minutes, and this movement caused a ripple effect which led to the pouch finally opening. At the opening of the pouch, Gaofeng felt as if his soul had been transported to someplace in outer space, however this was more like a manifestation of Gaofeng's will due to the special effects of the pouch.

When Gaofeng first got the pouch, he had no clue whether or not this pouch had riches inside, or nothing at all, and thus he didn't have too great of an expectation when he finally was able to open in. However, now Gaofeng was finally able to see the contents of the pouch with his own eyes. The first thing he observed in this space, was its immense size. He was sure that he could likely fit an entire city in this place. There was no exact "landscape" here, as he was literally in empty space, but there were something which could be described as walls, or barriers, which made up a gigantic box in shape. The barriers were simply a mass of intertwining symbols containing the space within, and connecting this exact space to Gaofeng's exact pouch.

Gaofeng felt as if he had complete control of this space, and that no matter what, as long as he put it here, he could simply manifest it in his hand instead of having to manually search through this gigantic space. Additionally, when first entering he got a small injection of information transplanted directly into his mind. This information was simply a list with all the items within this space, and was something that would be updated as he put additional items into the pouch. He wouldn't even need to be inside this space for this information to update, as it updated automatically.

What Gaofeng read on the list, however, gave him a pleasant surprise. The first part which pleasantly surprised him, was that the items within this space were named by this list, and there were also additional information given about them. This information had been gained throughout the years, as the pouch utilized the wielder's own knowledge to label each thing that was put into this vast space.

The list Gaofeng currently had in his mind was quite short, but each item were incomparably valuable. It read as follows: "Heavenly Dao Observation Pill x10, Spirit Condensation Pill x1, Qi Accumulation Pill (grade 9) x1, Restrictive Breakthrough Pill x1, Spirit Stones (grade 9) x1233, Invigorating Meditation Mat x1, Demonic Cores (grade 8) x399, Demonic Cores (grade 9) x13, Golden Hands (ability manual, grade 9), Shroud of Darkness (ability manual, grade 9), Instant Pierce (ability manual, grade 9), Wife-Stealer (ability manual, grade 8), Silent Room (ability manual, grade 8)."

Gaofeng felt nearly suffocated by this windfall. From the grades of the items and from the attributes of the abilities, Gaofeng concluded that this was likely the wealth of a Transcendence realm cultivator. General abilities and pills were divided into grades based on their usefulness to different levels of cultivators, and the higher the level, the greater the item. Grade 1 items were items which maximized the benefit for the cultivator if they were in the body-strengthening stage, and would have diminished effects if a qi-gathering stage cultivator utilized the same ability or item.

From this grading, it could be discerned that anything connected to grade 9 had the greatest effect on cultivators at the Transcendence realm. Additionally, most items of any grade could potentially be utilized by lower-level cultivators, but these cultivators might not be able to display the full might of higher leveled abilities or take advantage of the full effects of higher leveled pills. Some pills with harsh requirements, however, couldn't be taken unless one had an incredibly powerful body, or a certain level of qi-cultivation.

When Gaofeng considered the matter of whose belongings he inherited, he quickly concluded that although the person he inherited from was in the Transcendence stage, he had likely traded in all of his lower grade belongings to be able to afford this assortment of pills, meaning that that senior definitely had experienced a great calamity due to the pills remaining intact. No cultivator would leave such pills unused if they could avoid it.
