New House

Alex's POV

With our family now growing we have an option about renovating our home or moving to a bigger house, and the later option sounds more reasonable given that Piper is already pregnant and we need a bigger house soon.

Our home has only 2 bedrooms and Nicky was talking about moving out completely so we can give her room to the baby. But I don't like that idea. We love having Nicky around and she's part of our family so giving up that room is not an option.

"I love this house, and I don't want to live anywhere else". Piper said as we lay in bed.

"I know babe, I don't want to leave this place too but it's getting crowded now that we're having a baby. Even if Nicky give up her room It's still not enough.

We should start looking out other houses soon".

I love this house and I hate to think about living somewhere else. This place means so much to me and Piper but we have no other choice but to move somewhere bigger.

Having a kid is a number one reason why I want to move to a bigger place. I want my child to have an ample room to play and grow. Besides, kids need to have their own privacy and space. Our two- bedroom house would've worked fine for us, but when you are expecting a child, things are going to change. More people mean more stuff, more activity and more demand space.

The very next day Piper called our real estate agent. The same one who sold Piper this house and she said she has some property listings to show us if we are available next week.

We grab the opportunity and agreed. Nicky is coming with us too since she will also be living with us and we need her expert advice. Actually she's no expert, I just love bringing her along.

I already have something in mind about what to look for in a house. I want to live in an area that are further away from the city center, so there'll be less noise, less dangerous traffic and more green areas.

A week passed and the agent gave us the first address of the house and she'll meet us there.

I drove us to the place. The house is a two story mediterranean style and very luxurious. There is a fountain infront of the house and I really think it looks too much for my style but I'm not sure about Piper. She seem to like everything fancy.

The house has 5 bedrooms and 4 functional toilet and bath. As what you would expect inside a mediterranean home it has an elegant spaces and a swimming pool in the back. I was looking for something similar to our house. I want a large backyard.

To my surprise, Piper didn't approve of this place. So we went to check another one.

This next one is a European style home with high steeply pitched roofs and tall windows, also a two story house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It has a nice view in the garden but not quite something I was looking for.

We have to check one last place today and if we don't like it we'll find another one tomorrow.

We got to this place and already I'm loving it. The house from the outside is graceful.

This one is a contemporary style house. I love this style because they are often built for sustainability and are generally eco-friendly and energy-efficient.

There's a garden that is built around the house. The interior is even more surprising. The inside of the house is very large, and open and bright. The entire back of the house facing the backyard are all covered with glass. I can see the lawn stretched to the river.

The house has a massive staircase and It has 4 bedrooms with complete toilet and bath. A family room, a playroom which is awesome for our baby and what amazes me is the home theater. I can already see my family living in this place. It even has a mini library and a home office for Piper.

The basement is awesome too. The previous owner made it into a man cave. It has a TV down there, a billiards table, a couch and a mini bar.

What I like most is the backyard. It has a covered patio, a swimming pool and an outdoor kitchen and grilling station. This is perfect for our family.

On the opposite corner of the pool there is a playground for kids.

The swimming pool has a rail surrounding it which is very safe for our child. The entire house is childproof. Our agent told us that the previous owner had 3 young kids so it's not very surprising that the house is childproof already.

The master's bedroom is overlooking the backyard and also one portion of it is covered in glass walls.

"This place is awesome!". Piper said while looking at the glass wall overlooking the backyard.

"I like it too. This is perfect for our family. Did you see the play room? Gosh! I can imagine our baby playing there. What do you think Nicky? You like this place?"

"What's not to like? Can we move in tomorrow?". She said while checking the master's bath.

"Wow! Guys you should check this out. This bathroom is bigger than your current house". Nicky exclaimed.

I walk to the bathroom and she's not exaggerating. This bathroom is huge ,there is a jacuzzi bath at the far end left corner and a glass shower enclosure across from it. There is also a double sink which is perfect for me and Piper.

Nicky also found another door on my right and when she opened, it's a walk-in closet.

"Oh my God!". Piper exclaimed behind me. "We have to definitely buy this house". She wrap her arms around my waist and kissed the back of my neck.

"Yes, we'll get it"

She unwrap her arms around me and walk inside the bathroom.

Piper, is wearing a tight dress and I can definitely see a little bump poking under her dress. She unconsciously place her hand over her belly and rub it gently. I can't help and admire her.

Never in my life I thought this would happen. Having a baby and buying a house for our growing family.

*******************************

6 months have past and we already settled into our new home. Piper, is on her last trimester and in the next few weeks we will be meeting our newest addition to the family.

I really didn't want to know the gender of the baby. I want to enjoy the mystery of not knowing, the playing of choosing both male and female names rather than just one-half.

But some things doesn't go as planned. During one of our appointment our OB accidentally given away the gender of our baby and I have to admit I was a little bit disappointed, but Piper on the other hand was very happy. So it was still good.

We're happy to announce that we are going to have a bouncing baby girl.

We also did some few renovations on the play room and the baby's room, but other than that the house is beautiful as it is.

Almost every night, we would eat in the backyard since it has an outdoor kitchen. We also installed some lights around the whole yard and it would lit up the whole place. This house is perfect for our family since we enjoy outdoors.
