Tang Peng

Ja Sun has always been interested in the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda Martial Soul. It is said to have the bottleneck based on the number of the floors of the pagoda of their martial soul. He had once encountered a weaker portion of the family. A team of one youth with six women who have two-storied Glazed Tile Pagoda. What fascinated him was the fact that the martial soul with the ability to boost so many attributes with a relatively lower amount of spirit energy would face this kind of unfair bottleneck.

"Who's that?" Ja Sun inquired as Ning Fengzhi walked onto the stage with a rather valiant-looking pink-haired swordsman. Her sword continued to flash at nine equal sections and any observer soon find themselves dizzy.

"That's the Nine Light Lin Min. She is the Sword Douluo Chen Xin's only disciple and Ning Fengzhi's fiancee," Bibi Dong sat to his left. The seating arrangements had changed and even if others didn't speak out, seeing Ah Yin and Bibi Dong flank Ja Sun who had made sure to puke a jug's worth of blood just to look pale made him look quite pitiable, too.

As if he was a spent bullet while trying to constantly take care of the two.

Ja Sun didn't mind his teammates' odd glances. Bibi Dong, Tang Yuehua, and Liu Erlong were the only single members of the team, and seeing how Bibi Dong had turned traitor to her own people, Liu Erlong and Tang Yuehua couldn't help but feel a little stifled. And impatient.

"I see..." Ja Sun mumbled. He looked to his sides and grew suspicious. Ah Yin was silent but strangely looked warmer. Bibi Dong was somewhat leaning over to his side. It was good, but still felt weird.

'Ah, so that's it...' Ja Sun suddenly grew enlightened before he stood up from the middle of them and walked all the way over to Xie Xan before sitting next to him. His actions left others stunned while he leaned back with a pleased expression.

'Trying to take the corner set,' Ja Sun scoffed internally.

'Did he become gay after one month in Slaughter City?' Xie Xan now grew suspicious as he was flanked by a giggling Hu Lana and a focused Ja Sun who watched the match. Given Ning Fengzhi's capabilities, he decided to enter the match, too. In fact, he decided to enter a match with almost all the top contestants to try and find out what he might gain.

"Dude... they are glaring at me like crazy," Xie Xan's whisper broke Ja Sun's delusions and dreams as he looked sideways. Seeing the furious Ah Yin and Bibi Dong, Ja Sun waved his hand with a smile, "I just like corner seats." He cleared it up. No point in creating any misunderstanding.

"Hah! I respect that!" A gruff voice attracted the group and Tang Yuehua stiffened momentarily.

Walking towards them were the Clear Sky Twin Stars— Tang Hao and Tang Xiao. Both of them had a grin over their lips. Dai Mu was nowhere to be seen. But as they gazed at the empty seat between Bibi Dong and Ah Yin, the two brothers couldn't conceal their envy.

"Brother Xiao! Brother Hao!" Tang Yuehua hurriedly got up and bowed towards her brothers while Ja Sun and others merely looked at them without moving.

'He... got his eighth spirit ring,' Ja Sun narrowed his eyes as he observed Tang Hao. The two brothers were now true Spirit Douluo and with what Ja Sun had already seen where Tang Hao clashed with a rather strong 100000-year-old beast, the man must be close to having an average Titled Douluo level strength.

"Miss Bibi, my father wants to speak with Brother Ka-ul and our sister," Tang Xiao spoke up as Bibi Dong snorted, "Take him away for all I care!"

"Can I meet him later? I want to watch this match."

Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Martial Soul is hailed as the strongest beast spirit and its team all had this martial soul! This team was led by Yu Xiaogang's blonde elder brother, Yu Shandian, and was categorized as the successor of his clan. Two successors of the top three clans were fighting so Ja Sun was a bit curious. The fight had already begun. While they chatted, lightning and thunder continued to explode in the arena with Ning Fengzhi calmly boosting his teammates. Ning Fengzhi was the only Spirit King in the team but each and every support of his Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda had a 60% boost of attributes.

Oscar and Liu Erlong were captivated by the fight, too.

Her predatory gaze never left the seven members of the dragon clan since they stepped on the stage.

Tang Yuehua and her siblings gazed at Ja Sun helplessly.

"My father... is an inpatient man," Tang Hao mumbled.

Ja Sun gazed at Tang Hao and spoke candidly, "Impatient? You're really going to use that word fully knowing what I can lash out with... around the word impatience?"

The scene of him humiliating Dai Taiyin was still vivid in Tang Hao's and Tang Xiao's minds.

"Elder Brother, what if I bring Brother Ka-ul once this match is over?" Tang Yuehua eased in as Tang Xiao nodded with a smile, "Then we will meet you there."

"Why don't I stay, too?" Tang Hao inquired and Tang Yuehua's heart lurched.

Ja Sun glanced at Tang Yuehua and seeing her expression, he smiled eerily, patting the seat next to him, "Come then. Sit right next to me. Oh, wait, I don't like to be mushed in so you should sit between me and Xie Xan," he stood and said while exaggeratedly inviting Tang Hao, making him step back with a hesitant expression.

"Forget it," Tang Hao rolled his eyes before walking away with his elder brother.

Ja Sun shrugged while Yuehua sat down with a relieved sigh.

At this time, Ah Yin leaned towards Bibi Dong and whispered something. Hearing her words, Bibi Dong's gaze shone and she coughed, "Ka-ul, come sit here. I want to discuss a strategy with you concerning you and Ah Yin."

Bibi Dong smiled amicably and patted the seat next to her.

"A strategy?" Ja Sun tilted his head, "Since I'm not participating in most of the matches, I don't think a specified strategy is needed."

"I insist," Bibi Dong pursued.

"Just shut up and let me watch the match!" Liu Erlong scoffed and stood up before sitting between Ah Yin and Bibi Dong. She crossed her arms with an annoyed expression as Ja Sun shrugged. He was of the same thought.

He turned his head to watch the match, like Liu Erlong, while others felt the surroundings turn tense.

'These two idiots!' Hu Lana and Jun'er glanced at each other before rolling their eyes.

"What I'm trying to say is, I don't get it. They're both trying to get a piece of me like I'm some candy. I didn't sign up for that. I just thought that since we all know each other for almost three years now, maybe we could get along together," Ja Sun huffed as he walked alongside Yuehua. He felt Ah Yin's and Bibi Dong's ire clearly. But so what? He liked corner seats. Although he may speak rudely, but he has always felt gracious with his actions. He compromised where it was a necessity and the act of trying to make him sit by itself left him greatly annoyed.

'It's not as simple as those novels, huh, or the royal families, too. Well... the royal families usually get fucked by their own harem so maybe my condition isn't as bad as them,' Ja Sun muttered internally.

"I... just think that they didn't mean to be forceful... as much as they were trying to be playful," Tang Yuehua forced a smile as Ja Sun stopped.

"What do you mean?" Ja Sun inquired.

The match between the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan was taken by the dragons. But it was a trying victory.

Ning Fengzhi had a lot of tactics that actually made sure to give a few teammates of the dragons some lasting injuries and would affect their performance in tomorrow's match. And since the dragons have already pulled a freebie, they only had matches ahead.

"Brother Ka-ul... what I mean to say is that they didn't think as in restricting you. I mean, it is not strange that Sister Bibi and Little Yin would end cooperating together since both of them are..."

Tang Yuehua gave Ja Sun a cautious look, "You won't tell them I said this about them, right?"

"No," Ja Sun shrugged.

"Well... they are weird. I mean, we all are. If we think carefully about it."

Ja Sun grew silent. He knew he was a tiny bit perverted. Xie Xan was a massive simp. Hu Lana... well, she was cool. Jun'er, too, no, she loved to sniff pits, Oscar's, especially. Ja Sun wasn't kink-shaming but merely made an observation. Oscar by himself would have a rage issue if someone insults his martial soul. Meanwhile, Yuehua fell for her older brother and it was unknown if she had gotten over it even a little bit or not. Ah Yin would also low-key rage if any plant is complimented and Bibi Dong...

'Wait a minute... Bibi Dong is normal?' Ja Sun frowned before he suddenly recalled her issues with her appearance during her spirit transformation.

"Yeah, you all are pretty weird," Ja Sun agreed and Yuehua's lips twitched before she smiled calmly.

"In the end, I don't think I have much authority to speak in this situation but I now understand the awkwardness one can feel if things don't work out... so if there is a chance that you wouldn't want such a life then might as well come out clean. Again, please don't tell this to Sister Bibi or Little Yin," Yuehua heaved. She wasn't terrified of them but she also knew that they wouldn't shy from actually taking up arms if they feel that their relationship was threatened because of her words.

"So, you're saying that I either go all the way or I step out of the ring completely?" Ja Sun's expression brightened. His gaze flickered with enlightenment.

"What? No, no. Brother Ka-ul, those aren't my words!" Tang Yuehua hurriedly spoke as she observed his expression and he grinned, "Thanks, Yuehua. I get it."

They came towards the office. On top of it was a wooden plaque with a pitch-black hammer insignia.

Knocking the door politely, Yuehua waited and Ja Sun stood next to her.

"Are you nervous?" Ja Sun inquired in a whisper.

"Brother Ka-ul... of course, I'm nervous," Yuehua glared at Ja Sun as if she had been wronged, "And please don't talk nonsense with my father."

"Alright, I will be on point," Ja Sun smiled.

*Click*

The wooden door clicked open. It was Tang Hao that opened the door but instead of getting in, he hurriedly walked out, and seeing his expression as if he had been pardoned, Yuehua couldn't help but purse her lips. Within the large office was one older man. Short grey hair swept back and a long bushy grey beard. His stature easily over two meters. He, too, wore a biker's jacket just like Tang Hao and Tang Xiao. Its sleeves torn and his bulging arms even more muscular than Ja Sun's.

"Little Yue!" The man instantly grinned. He walked forward quickly and hugged Yuehua and picked her up while spinning where he stood. Yuehua instantly turned embarrassed. After all, she was being treated like a child... literally!

'Oh... my god!' Ja Sun smirked as he saw this.

"D- Dad! Put me down already!" Yuehua pouted as Tang Peng laughed loudly. Letting her down, his large hand instantly ruffled up her neatly combed blue-silver hair.

"You'll always be my little darling, Yue! You, go there and pour the two of us some tea," Tang Peng's might pressure instantly descended on Ja Sun.

"As they say it directly," Ja Sun remained unperturbed by pressure, "And politely since I don't want any rift between our team and Yuehua— Do it yourself. If you have any problems, you can instead find my master. He very much enjoys bullying the weak, too."

Tang Peng frowned as he smelled the scent of blood. It came from Ja Sun clearly and unlike previously where it was just an intent, this time, it was real. The odor even shocked Yuehua as she hurriedly tugged her father's wrist to stop him from acting out and spoke towards Ja Sun, "Please. Both of you sit. Dad, Brother Ka-ul taught me how to survive and he is almost like a master to me. It is me who should pour tea and not him."

"Or, you could ask a servant to do it," Ja Sun added calmly.

"Yeah... that sounds acceptable," Tang Peng stated coldly. But he didn't call for any servant as the trio sat.

Clearly, no tea for anyone.

Tang Peng sat next to Yuehua silently while Ja Sun continued to look around. The office wasn't too luxurious and it was clear that the other members of the team didn't use it all that much.

"Please speak, Patriarch Tang Peng. You requested my presence."

"Request?" Tang Peng chuckled coldly, "Don't overreach, brat! The only reason you're alive is—"

"That you're afraid of my master," Ja Sun cut him off. When necessary, Ja Sun wasn't afraid of flaunting his status. It was a form of benefit to him.

"Tell me, Patriarch Tang, why would you be afraid when a member of your own family could rival master. Your father, the Clear Sky Douluo, is considered a myth, now. Even Yuehua doesn't know much about him... and the few individuals who do have something to speak of him... well, are not very talkative."

"Oh, and what do you know about my father?" Tang Peng responded coldly.

"I know that he's the reason why the Nine-headed Giants are extinct," Ja Sun remarked.

"Who said that?!" Tang Peng instantly shouted as Ja Sun frowned and stood up. Their distance was only a few feet away so he caught Yuehua's wrist and pulled him to his side as he controlled the spirit energy from the Sigh of Immortal to help ease her situation.

Seeing this, Tang Peng reigned in his spiritual pressure.

It was Redstar, who obviously told him. Qian Daoliu never once spoke of Tang Chen to his disciples. How Redstar came to find this out was a mystery but given his collaboration with Qian Xunji, it was clear that the Spirit Hall knew of Clear Sky Clan's predicament.

"Is there a need to get angry over idle gossips?" Ja Sun smiled. Seeing the fear in Yuehua's eyes, Ja Sun already understood that despite Tang Peng's fatherly love, he might not be a great father after all.

"Was it Qian Daoliu spreading such rumors?" Tang Peng pursued.

"No, my master doesn't have time for idle gossips," Ja Sun snorted and added internally, 'But he has time for romance novels and any dish related to centipedes.'

"So? Please tell me what it is that you require from me."

Forcefully calming himself, Tang Peng observed Ja Sun.

"Brat, what happened to your right arm?"

"I was bored so I cut it off and made a new one, why?" Ja Sun frowned.

"Brother Ka-ul, what Dad wanted to know was that could he help regarding this situation," Tang Yuehua spoke up and Tang Peng snorted.

"Oh," Ja Sun narrowed his eyes. Seeing the pleading look in Yuehua's eyes, Ja Sun couldn't help but compress his voice, "Don't always feel so fearful. Come on, don't you want to show your family you've changed for the better? What was the point of constantly training against me and Liu Erlong if you wanted to lose your cool in front of your family?"

Tang Yuehua grew silent while Ja Sun turned to look at Tang Peng, "If you feel indebted for Yuehua finally breaking through her bottleneck, then you should. If you want to compensate, then it is not necessary. We all helped Yuehua and cultivated out of personal desire. She is amazingly talented.

Now, what is it that you require of me to especially call me out instead of our leader."

Tang Peng sighed softly. Hearing Ja Sun's candid praise, Yuehua couldn't help but blush. However, she looked straight at her father. Her back straight.

"I called you here for a private affair, of course," Tang Peng grunted out, "Yesterday, me and Qian Xunji had a small conversation. Even Brother Laohu had a few strong words to speak about you. Little Yue, did you know that the real reason why I sent you to the Star Luo Palace was that Dai Laohu asked your hand for his son? As his concubine."

"... I was not aware. Did Brother Xiao—"

"It was a private engagement. Your brothers had no knowledge of it. Dai Laohu and I were considering strengthening our relationship. He also wanted Tang Hao to take care of his daughter. I'd wager that even Laohu's son didn't know of this matter."

Tang Peng sighed softly and crossed his arms, "In reality, before I heard the news of you finally becoming a Spirit Master, I wanted you to marry. A Spirit Master's cultivation allows them to wait for 50 or even 60 years. They retain their vitality, too."

Tang Yuehua nodded. This didn't come as much of a shock to her since this was the general norm of society.

What surprised her was the fact that it was Dai Taiyin that her father wanted to marry.

'Alright... I don't like where this is going,' Ja Sun narrowed his eyes.

"However, after learning that you have indeed shown talent in spirit cultivation, the elders of the clan still don't feel that it is appropriate for you to remain single. And I agree. If other members of the clan are made to marry then I cannot deny the same thing when demanded."

Yuehua turned pale as Ja Sun kept his quiet. It was clear to him that stepping into this landmine will have some great collateral damages and he didn't want it to tumble on his lap.

"Father, I'm committed to this path now. I'm already a rank 20 spirit master and soon I will become a proper Spirit Grandmaster. And it's not like I will take forever to climb the ranks. Surely, the elders also understand this."

Enlightenment suddenly flickered on Yuehua's face as her tone grew softer, "Is it because... I joined the Spirit Hall?"

"Indeed. The relationship between the clan and the Spirit Hall has always been tense. I wanted to speak of this matter without your brothers. Although your wilful disappearance angered me greatly, it also concerned me.

Even I agree with them. The clan doesn't distrust you. We simply don't trust Spirit Hall," Saying this, Tang Peng looked at Ja Sun.

"So... you trusted us until we helped Yuehua through her bottleneck?" Ja Sun inquired.

"Nay, we didn't trust you ever. But we also couldn't find you easily."

"Father, I trust them. They even let-"

"Wait," Ja Sun frowned and looked at Yuehua. She realized her mistake and nodded quickly.

"It doesn't matter what your elders think. It doesn't matter what you and Yuehua discuss in your own time. It doesn't matter who she marries as long as she is on our team and it certainly doesn't matter if you trust us or not.

Either make it clear why I'm a part of this discussion or I'm leaving."

"Since ancient time, trust is built through building relationships. Me and the Elders feel that if you decide to stay in the Spirit Hall, someone with equal status and talent takes care of you."

Saying this, Tang Peng looked at Ja Sun meaningfully and Tang Yuehua's lips twitched constantly. She didn't even have the time to be exasperated by such a brazen and not so sly attempt from her father when Ja Sun nodded.

"I see... this is understandable. But I don't think Yu Xiaogang even has the shoulders broad enough to accept such a burden. Although his status is equal... I'd say that his talent isn't as great as Yuehua's."

"Are you mocking me?" Tang Peng stated coldly.

"Are you?" Ja Sun retorted with a frown.

"My daughter is no mockery!"

Ja Sun blinked.

When did I say that?

Ja Sun felt that Tang Peng's talent in accidentally mocking his own daughter and Tang Hao's talent in accidentally rejecting women was top tier.

He could either pity Yuehua and indirectly insult her or make the further conversation clean.

"I haven't thought of marrying anybody. I don't think your daughter is a mockery. She is a beautiful and dedicated woman who would make any man lucky to have her," Ja Sun smiled, "What real mockery is this poorly planned topic and conversation. So, I'm taking my leave. Just because I feel a tiny bit disgusted with my time spent here, I'm taking Yuehua with me," Saying this, Ja Sun stood up and tugged a dazed Yuehua with him.

Tang Peng's gaze turned dark but he didn't go overboard. In reality, he couldn't. The Arena was jointly observed by many elders and Titled Douluo level experts of other clans. Even as the top clan, Tang Peng didn't dare to attract the ire of the entire continent.

Once they left, Ja Sun looked at the silent Yuehua and coughed, "I'll ask you to keep this matter... to yourself, too."

Seeing this, Yuehua's expression brightened. A teasing tone took over her voice and she poked, "Oh, Brother Ka-ul, is that fear? You actually do fear Little Yin and Sister Dong, didn't you?"

"No... but if they found it from you, I'll also say that you 'advised' to break up from them altogether!"

Ja Sun chuckled in a depraved manner and Tang Yuehua instantly whined.

"I did not say that!"
