Learning to run(3)

In the end, all we did was muscle training and we did it for like three hours. After three hours or so people starting leaving and Master Wu approached us.

"That's it for today."

While the others collapsed where they stood I bowed to Wu and asked.

"When are coming again, master?"

"Haha, kid, I like you more and more. We do training every other day and in between, I suggest you rest because this is just the start things are going to just get harder."

"We understand Master Wu," I say that, and then my friends follow and repeat after me.

We leave the warehouse and we head home.

"Well, that was intense." Sayed Zane.

"That was pure torture and nothing less, man, that old man is quite a sadist to put kids do that." Replied Kai.

"What's a sadist ?" Asked Nya.

"A man who enjoys other peoples' pain and Kai what did you expect I told you it wasn't going to be easy if you want to quit you can just stop coming."

"No way, we only just started how can I quit just after one lesson."

The others nodded and I looked at them and smirked.

"Good because while you might think this is hard it's probably going to become harder."

While we walked home we didn't speak anymore. We were too tired to speak but before we parted ways I told them to take a shower and wash their clothes so that nothing suspicious remains.

I got home and with great difficulty, I got to my room and closed the window. I went to the bathroom and took a shower and then washed my clothes. It was about four in the morning when all of that was finished and then I finally went to bed.

The next morning I was woken up by Noami telling me it's almost twelve o'clock. I went and had lunch because it was a little too late for breakfast. I eat to my heart's content and when I was finally full I went to help granny with the shop.

After I finished I went to meet with my friends.

"How are you guys?"

"Terrible, it hurts all over." Sayed Kai looking at me.

"Well, that's to be expected we were pushed pretty hard the other night."

"You don't say, my feet hurt in places I didn't know they could."

"I know how you feel" responded Zane.

'Well, now that all the pieces all falling into place should I try to make things easier for myself.'

"Guys I've been thinking learning to fight is good and all but if we really want to protect ourselves we need some tools to do that."

"Wait Ethan are you saying we should buy some weapons."

They are looked concerned at me especially Nya, the person how asked me the question.

"Oh, no that you be stupid especially because none of us know how to use them. No, I'm all saying is that we need to create some tools in order to level the playing field when fighting benders. While they have bending we need to have martial arts and tools in order to counteract them."

"Wait what do you mean "we need to create" do you expect us to make something capable of beating the benders, why not I don't know put an expert or somebody else to make them."

"Well for starters it's very dangerous to ask for somebody to make a weapon to kill bender since benders are basically the people that rule us how are you thinking the authorities will react, it's much safer for us to make them and since you going to since Kai and I are learning engineering you and Zane can learn with us. While I'm not expecting us to make the weapons now in a few years we might."

"That's a great idea, come on guys it's going to be so much fun for the four of us to learn to engineer together."

"Well I'm in, what harm could it do, what about you sister?"

"Fine, since the three of you have made your mind let's do this."

A few months went by nothing interesting happened in this period. Pema visited the shop like she always does every few months and gave me a present while I gave her a drawing of Avatar Aang's statue. Every time she comes by I give her a drawing I think she is starting to accept me giving them to her every time we meet and simply takes them hugging me after. Well, at least I made a good impression on her.

Training is going well. Master Wu is still putting as do only physical exercises and honestly, it started to annoy me but I don't say anything and continue to be respectful hoping that one of those days he's going to start teaching us.

While at night we were training with Master Wu every afternoon we went to Kai's father to teach us engineering. While he wasn't an engineer himself he knew an awful lot about the subject and at times it made me question why is he only a librarian.
