"Wait...You are Michael Morningstar! Why didn't you tell me?"
"But I did, didn't I?"
"What?! When?"
"When we went on that double date, you, Mako, Nya, and me."
"..."
There were a few seconds of silence where Asami tried to remember.
"You did say that you published some articles but you didn't mention anything about your most famous one."
"I mentioned my best science articles and that article is more fiction than science."
"I can't believe all this time I was talking with the Michael Morningstar and I didn't even know it. I have a tone of questions, the first one is why the pseudonym?"
"I found it cool to write under a pseudonym, there is nothing more to it."
"Oh..."
After this Asami took us for a tour of the house. It was as amazing on the inside as it was on the outside. While it was fun walking around the house I wanted to talk with mister Sato more so I made my way to his office to see if he's there, fortunately, he was.
"Mr. Sato, may I come in?"
"Of course, and please call me Hiroshi! What can I do for you?"
"Recently, I've been working on a project and I think I've hit a wall, and I was wondering if maybe I could ask for some advice?"
"Sure, do you have your materials with you?"
"Yes, one moment."
I take a journal out of my jacket and I take a seat at the table.
"Here it is."
I show him a drawing and the plans for my suit electrical system and after a few minutes of looking at it Hiroshi tells me excited
"Oh my! It's amazing, the way that this is built, it's years ahead of what I've seen, while I would like to help I'm not sure I would be able to make any major improvements."
"While it would be nice to receive an epiphany from you, sir, what I am looking for is something different. You see I have a problem with overheating, as you can see from the schematics, I use four operating modes for it. The first three are good as they are but for the fourth, well, it tends to fry all the circuitry and I've been trying to find a solution but to no avail."
"Ah, I see the problem now, yes, oh my now that I look at it I can see how dangerous this problem really is."
"I don't think I follow sir?"
"Tell me now what did you use as a conductor in your experiments?"
"I used a mix of copper, iron, and titanium, I wrote it there. Why do you ask?"
"Because I wanted to be sure, I know the alloy, and I experimented quite a lot with it when I was younger, it has a nasty habit of catching fire in certain circumstances."
When I heard this I almost choked, I didn't know that and to think that I used to run around in the suit without a care in the world.
"In what circumstances? As far as I experimented and I read there are no such cases."
"There are some special circumstances for example: when salt or sugar water is in the mix or too much alternative current, usually the alloy is made to not interact with it, but at a certain temperature, well its proprieties change and it catches fire. I almost burn my face when I was experimenting, some of my sweet got onto the alloy and it instantly caught fire."
"Good to know, do you have any alternative for the alloy?"
"As a matter of fact I do, come with me."
We went to the back of the house where a workshop stood. I recognized the workshop as the one that has the hidden lab under it.
We entered and he went to one of the tables there where he picked up a roll of wires and gave it to me.
"Here! This is a superconductor I found while searching for something that transports electricity and doesn't heat up as much as normal materials."
"Thank you! I'll eternally be grateful if there is something that I can do for you sir you just need to ask."
"No, no, this is a gift for a young and promising inventor, although, I am a little curious about your other projects. I look at the other pages of your journal and I could barely understand half of it, and the ideas I could understand are groundbreaking. While not all of them seem ready, even as they are now they could change the way we see the world. Why not share them with the rest of the world?"
"Do you think that they are ready? If I introduce all of them at once it will shatter our way of life. While at first, you can see all the benefits, the more you start to think about it the more you see the bad aspects. If I introduce them now, all at once, how many people would lose their jobs, how many people could utilize them to their full potential, how much time will it take for them to get accustomed to them? Some of the things in there are as beneficial as they are dangerous. Do you think that if they are misused could the government handle it? They aren't ready, not now, maybe in a decade or two."
"I can see your point. On that note, I have a proposition to make. Would you join Future Industries and use your knowledge to make the world a better place?"
"I'm flattered, but I have to refuse, I don't like under anyone, I want to make what I want when I want."
"Oh, I didn't want to employ you, I wanted to ask you to become my partner, we would work side by side in order to make this world better for people like my daughter Asami, like your girlfriend Nya."
"Sir, I don't know what to say, can I get some time to think about it?"
"Of course, take as much time as you need, I know it's a life-changing decision."
