Sally took a deep breath and thought for a moment before replying. "I did test her powers, Sam but I promised them I would keep it a secret," Sally said. "Well since she is now in Mike's care is there anything we need to be worried about. I mean her hearing is even better than mine. The only problem is she can't seem to control when to use it," Sam siad.
"I can not really tell you and besides I did promise her parents," Sally replied. Sam took a deep breath and asked, "tell me is there anything we can do to make things easier on her. I mean her hearing is a big problem at the moment. She hears everything around her," Sam siad. Sally was quiet for a while before replying. "Tell me what is it about her hearing that is the problem," Sally asked.
"Whenever an alarm goes off. She is in a lot of pain. The doctor told Mike she might go deaf if she isn't carefull," Sam siad.
"Alarms bothers her but how far can she hear a conversation?" Sally asked. "You know, we haven't really tested that out. In fact, Mike and I have been so busy we dont even really know what she can really do. Well other than what she showed us so far," Sam siad.
"What do you mean Sam?" Sally asked.
"Well, when she discovered Zack had a hand in her parent's kidnapping. She came looking for us, somehow she remembered us warning Zara about the dangers they were going to face alone," Sam said. "What but she was too young to remember that, it should be impossible for her to remember what we even told Zara and John," Sally said.
"I know and if you think that's amazing you should know she can create three seasons in one day," Sam siad. "I know I told her parents she might be strong but even I couldn't have predicted that she would be this strong," Sally said.
"What do you suggest we do? Mike wants to test her again to see if we can come up with a plan to help her," Sam siad.
Sally was quiet for a while and siad, "well if you want to test her again, I will do it. The fewer people know about her the better, what about her father's brother? Does he know her parents have been missing?" Sally asked.
"We have no way to contact him Sally so I am going to say no but Mike said we will be going past his base. We might stay there for a day or so hopefully we can find him and tell him but your should know John and Zara didn't tell Mia anything I suspect we will have to tell her and well where do we even start?" Sam siad.
"Dont tells her anything yet, I know how to find him so I will tell him about his brother. Maybe he knows about Mia's birth," Sally said. "Well someone better know because the council won't let Mia stay on the base unless someone confirms Mia is their daughter," Sam siad.
"I will go and ask him. Sam just be carefull that area has had a lot of elemental hunters around. If Mia is as powerfull as you say she is you might have trouble following you," Sally warned.
Sam noticed Mike was looking at him and said good buy to Sally. Who had to send her greetings to Mia. Mike was quiet for a while and siad, "so Mia is like her father if not more powerfull than him and they not only knew about it but also refused any form of help. What on earth were they thinking?" Mike asked.
"I don't know but Sally said she would contact John's brother. She knows how to contact him, in the meanwhile, we should be carefull. We might be looking at elemental hunters coming our way. They call the road ahead of us home," Sam siad.
"I heard her and it makes me worried but hopefully we can get shelter at that base before we head to our own base," Mike said.
Mia woke up feeling the something beneath her move. She sat up and looked around her, Sam was sitting next to her and said, "good to see that you are finally awake."
Mia looked around and asked, "where are we going?" Sam looked at Mia and siad, "to our new home and base." Mia looked at him as she remembered what had happend with the council. "But what about the council, didn't they say I could not go?" Mia asked.
"Yes they did but both your uncle and I didn't think leaving you is an option. There are things you do not know about yet and it worries us that we still do not know where your parents are or why they made the decisions that they made," Sam siad.
"How did you find me?" Mia asked. "Well, I know that forest just as well as you do. Besides that cabin is one of the homes your parents lived in before they left us without saying anything," Sam siad.
"I remember you used to bring your daughter around to play with me," Mia siad.
"So you still remember those days?" Sam asked. "Yes, I do those are memories that are the most precious memories I have," Mia siad.
"That's good to know, we were worried about you when we could not find you or your family," Sam siad. "Mom and dad always made it seem as if no one would even miss them. You know there was no problem," Mia siad.
"Well, the one thing that they did wrong was thinking they would be okay on their own," Sam siad. They drove in silence for a few hours and Mia found herself staring at the endless trees that flew past them. They passed fields, lakes and rivers. When the sun began to go down the team drove into a small town. Mia notices the vehicles slowed down before turning into a huge building.
"Where are we going?" Mia asked. "To see another one of your family members. We thought it is best if we inform your father's brother about what happened to your parents," Sam siad. Everyone parked and Mia looked at two-woman standing next to a man talking. "Sam stop I know them?" Mia said. "I thought you would, that's my ex-wife and daughter," Sam siad as he stoped the vehicle. "Ex-wife, you're divorced?" Mia asked. "Go we can talk about that later," Sam said.
Mia jumped out of Sam's truck and ran to Sally. "Aunt Sally, I thought I would never see you again?" Mia shouted. "I am glad to see you still remember us?" Sally said. As she watched Sam park his truck next and started to walk over to them. "When I found out my uncle Zack is behind my parent's disappearance. I didn't know where to go but then I remembered Sam and you. You were mother close friends? When I saw the house burned down I thought I would never see you again," Mia siad.
"No we are save Mia, I am just happy to see you save?" Sally said. "Good evening Sally, Nella and to you Kevin," Sam said. Mia looked around and Sam noticed. He asked, "what is wrong Mia?" She looked at him and siad, "I dont know, maybe it's just me," Mia siad. Sam stopped to look around but everyone was so loud he could not hear anything.
"You bunch of loudmouths be quiet for a second," Sam shouted. He looked around again after everyone was quiet and Mike came over to him. "What's wrong Sam?" he asked.
"Up there on the ridge across the street. There's someone standing there," Mia siad. Mike looked in that direction and said, "your vision is as good as always Mia," he siad. "YOu can see them too?" Mia asked.
"Yes, I am your uncle after all. Our type of visons runs in the family," Mike said. Mia tried to focus on what they were saying but shook her head. Sally noticed and said, "dont force it Mia, you could injure yourself trying to hear at this distance," Sally said.
Sam looked at Mike and asked, "what do you think Mike?" Mike looked at the group and siad, "I dont really know, that can be anyone," Mike said but the man Mia was looking at started walking to the back of the car. She kept her eyes on him and just below the street light she recognized him immediately. She looked at the woman that stood there and said, "it's uncle Zack and the director of his company," Mia siad.
Mike looked at the cars as they drove off and asked, "are you sure mia?" Mia looked at her uncle Mike and said, "Yes uncle I am sure and you should know she and Uncle Zack looks really close," Mia said.
"This doesn't make any sense why would Zack following us?" Sam asked. "I do not know, Sam," Mike said.
