"With a lot of hard work. There is no such thing as shortcuts only hard work. You are welcome to stay here, as long as you keep to the rules and pull your weight around here," the man said. He showed Mia where to park her truck and gave her a cover she could throw over her truck. "If that truck is as expensive as I think it is this will be your best friend for a while," he siad. "Thanks it was my dad's truck i didn't have the heart to sell it," Mia siad.
Mia made herself at home in one of the cabins. It was tiny as it only had room for a single bed and a place for a few personal belongings. The bathroom was outside and one she will have to share with a few others. Mia found her sketch book and went to sit at the lake side to draw a picture.
"Your drawing looks grate. Looks like i have another art student at my desposal," a woman said.
Mia smiled and said, "i draw because it relaxes me i dont draw becasue i want to make money," Mia said. "Well then they need help in the kitchen," the woman siad. Mia helped out in the kitchen but found that many fo the people there was queit. They worked in silence and Mia welcomed the silence for once.
It was only after dinner Mia desided to try and phone her uncles. To tell them she was okay but Mia relised her uncles had blocked her from there phones. She sat on the bed in her cabin trying not to be to upset about what has happend. She wondered what would happen to her now. She couldnt' stay in camps like this one in fact she needed to start her live. Enjoy it for once but with her parents kidnapping she didn't know what she was going to do.
Mia was about to go to sleep when Bella started to growl. She got up and went to check on her truck and with her night vision she saw several police men hiding in several locations. She also noticed the gate was wide open. Mia went to her truck and called Bella over. She focused on her hearing and descovered this camp wasn't legal at all.
She looked at Bella and wondered for a second how she was going to get out of trouble this time. She thougth about running when she realised there was a road behind her. The police wasn't very close so she should be abel to get out of the camp without anyone seeing her. Mia left the camp quietly and stopped at a local gas station to fill the tank up one last time.
"Bella we need to find work tomorrow?" she siad. "Thats after you exsplained why you left that camp?" a man said. "Mia looked at the man and realsied there was only one way he would know she was there. "Your an elementalist aren't you?" Mia asked. The man shocked looked at Mia and siad replied, "I am one two, i saw the police and left the camp. Super hearing and nightvision over here," Mai said.
"O so where are you heading?" the man asked. "Would it make sense if i tell you, i dont know?" Mia asked. "What do you mean?" he asked. "Well i arived at the camp this afternoon, seeing you guys i desided to leave before i get into trouble," Mia siad. "So thats what happend, the blue truck is it yours?" the police asked. "Its my dads truck," Mia said as she got out the trucks papers and her drivers licence and all.
The plolice man noticed Mia had just gotten her drivers licence and asked, "you couldn't wait to leave home i see?" he asked. "If only it was true, my perents were kidnapped being rare and powerfull made them a target. Its only my uncles and me thats left," Mia siad.
"So what are you doing here alone?" the man asked. "Well i am welcome with my unlces just not the base. Not everyone is so forgiving with my parents desisions and since i am a freeloader well no one wants to feed a freeloader," Mai said.
"So you left because your being bullied and your parents never tought you?" the man asked. Mia looked at the man and said, "i left becase i am not welcome. I left becasue i will never be welcome unless i find a way to show i am more then they think," Mia siad.
"Well try a night in jail for a start?" the man siad. "You are not being fair, i wasn't involved with that group," Mia said. "I don't care but you need to learn what being gratefull means," the man said. Mia found herself in a jail that stank from urine and who knew what else. She didn't trust anyone from her cell and she was worried about Bella and her truck. The next morning a man let her out of the jail cell and siad, "i am so sorry there seems to have been a misunderstanding."
Mia signed the papers got her truck and picked up Bella from the pound. She was determined to leave the town behind but as she left she spotted several trucks comming threw the small town. She signed and desided to wait for them to pass. She was drawing another pickture when one of the visitors said, "nice picture, you can make millions off picktures like that one," the man siad.
Mia jumped out of the way and narrowed her eyes at the man. Only to notice he wasn't even standing close to her. She looked at him and realise she gave herself away she picked up her stuf and drove out of town right away. In the next town Mia found a bulitin board filled with small jobs that she could do. She worked hard that day and by the end of the day had made enough money to make it to the next town.
Mia traveld this way for days and for the first time Mia found herself having fun. She even bought herself a camera and was now taking all kinds of nature photos. It was one evening very late that she had a feeling something wasn't right. Mia stopped at the gas station to fill up the tank when a familiar lady approaced her. Shocked to see Molly out in the middel of now where Mia tried to start a friendly confersation but Molly wasn't having any of that nonesence. "I see Kevin and Mike finally saw things my way. Kicking you out of the base was the best thing they could have done," Molly said.
But Mia spotted a black van with windows tinted black. To the naked eye you could not see anything but to Mia she knew what she saw. She realised she had just seen her parents. Mia looked around and noticed the gas man waiting to be paid. Mia paid him and ignored Molly. "How dare you ignore me? I will show you what i can do when people ignore me," Molly took a pipe and started hitting The truck braking the windows denting the truck. "What are you doing?" a man said as he dragged Molly away from Mia.
"What here the police is comming?" a man shouted. The police took Mia's statement and siad, "you are really far from home, you do know its dangerous to be alone?"
"Yes, i know but the base see me as a freeloader so i can not go back untill i find a job," Mia said. "Thats to bad, i will be contracting your uncles about Molly insedent on the base. Any messeges you want me to pass on?" he asked.
"Yes tell them i am sorry and tell them i am okay," Mia said. "Thats not a message i have passed on before. Has something happend?" the man asked. Mia told the police man everything and siad, "I just couldn't take it any more but i also dont know how long i can live this way. They came for my parents and soon they might come for me. My uncles will care but not clover. To them i am just using them," Mia said.
"I can not believe Clover has these problems. They usually are so caring towards members?" the police man siad. "Yes but my parents desdied to keep me a secret. That was there worst mistake," Mia said. "Yes but even then Mia, this isn't like Clover to just abandon the family of memebers, in trouble," the police man siad.
"You know a lot about Clovers past dont you?" Mia asked. "Yes well my father is a member of clover," the police man siad. "What made you join the police and not clover?" Mia asked. "No reason, this happens to be where i found a job thats all," the man siad.
Mia smiled and said, "i had a change to join the rangers twice, both time clover runed my chances," Mia said. The man wasn't smiling at that moment and asked, "so how have you been surviving?"
"The bulleting board, i take the jobs while looking for a permanent work selution. I think i found a selution but i am not going to tell you. I dont want Clover to get involved again," Mia siad.
"Your takiing the ranger test again arn't you?" he asked. "Yes and only this time clover will not be there to interfear. Bella and i will do our best, we will pass it and i will find work and maybe one day i will return to Clover but right now. I am better on my own," Mia siad.
