Part six - Koby, Hats and Marines 1/8

After spending two whole weeks in the company of the infamous East Blue pirate hunters, Koby could say with confidence that they, in fact, if you figure it out, are pretty good guys. And even somewhat kind. No, really! It's just that all this kindness of theirs was buried under such a thick layer of madness, bloodlust and love for dark jokes - or stupid and idiotic, to repeat the words of the "Queen" herself - that it became extremely difficult to discern her. But Koby had proof! He himself. I mean, he's still alive, even though they could very well have killed him. In addition, the "Queen of Monsters" Nami really turned out to be the "Queen of Mercy" by Nami.

Contrary to everything that Koby had time to think of himself, Alvida and her team, with the exception of a few people, turned out to be alive. The hunters even allowed some of its more or less capable representatives to heal those who needed it especially badly. And, as it turned out, Alvida and her people owed their lives only to the "Queen". If anyone other than her had fought with them, then they would definitely have been killed, but, as it soon became clear to Kobe, the "Queen" tried not to kill anyone. And she did not allow them to finish off the opponents she defeated. Because of what, if the "Queen" fought, the hunters constantly had to tinker with the surviving pirates. This, in turn, meant that after each such skirmish with the pirates, they had to sit in one place for some time, waiting for the arrival of a ship or ships of marines. For example, it took four full days before the Marines sailed for Alvida and her team. On the other hand, it was surprising that the marines generally responded to the call of "some money-hungry hunters" - everyone knew about the mutual dislike between the hunters and the marines. As a result, due to constant expectations, the rest of the hunters grumbled a lot about the relevant topic, but, remarkably, none of them made a single attempt to finish off the surviving pirates. But on the very first day they burned Alvida's ship, yes.

How did Koby know from his personal communication with them, the people who saved him - or would it be better to speak,the monsters who almost killed him? - when the pirates were eliminated, they were not limited to only one reward assigned for the head of the captain killed or captured by them. No, they took everything. I mean, everything is real. Everything that was of any value and could be sold. And, what is especially important, they did not upset the aesthetic feelings of their captain ... how they were upset by the appearance of Alvida's ship. Pink, all in hearts, from the hull of the ship to the pirate flag on the flagpole. Joyful Luffy, barely seeing on which particular ship Alvida was sailing with the crew, instantly lost all his cheerful mood:

- Hadoken this heresy !!! - followed by his immediate and extremely emotional order.

- Hadoken (Fist of the Raging Wave)! - Ryu's immediate reaction followed. Collecting a small but extremely unstable fireball in his hands, the guy launched it into the ship. The ball, piercing through the hull of the ship, disappeared inside, so that a second later it exploded with such force that the entire upper deck simply evaporated, and the ship itself was instantly engulfed in fire.

- Well done, Ryu! - Luffy nodded in satisfaction, folding his arms across his chest. - And remember: burn the heresy, kill the pirates, chase the marines!

Ryu, the man that Koby himself and the rest of the East Blue population knew by the nickname "Beheader" and the name Johnny. That's just why "Johnny" and not "Ryu", Koby did not understand. All hunters referred to Ryu exactly as Ryu. For all two weeks, Koby never heard that at least someone turned to Ryu on this, you don't understand where it came from, name Johnny. However, when Kobe, still unable to curb his curiosity, asked Ryu why his nickname did not mention his real name, but only some kind of "Johnny", the hunter instantly fell into depression and did not answer him. The rest of the hunters just shrugged it off, and only Luffy explained that this was just an annoying mistake by the newsmen and the Marines, which is why, as soon as someone reminds Ryu of his wrong nickname, he instantly plunges into a deep depression. Luffy's explanations sounded quite plausible, the problem was that it was Luffy who had told him about it, and he, as by that time had already repeatedly convinced Koby from personal experience, could make any nonsense he said sound plausible. And, again, the "Queen", almost the very first thing after he met the guys, warned him not to even take Luffy's word for it, if it was not about some really serious things ... and just as in no case take anything out of his hands, in no case be alone with him, in no case go for him anywhere, in no case ... in short, it was a very long list. Therefore, Koby strongly doubted that Luffy had told him the truth about Ryu. And, considering that no one else had told him anything else, Koby, as already mentioned, did not understand why most people believed Ryu to be Johnny.

And now back to the topic.

Alvida's ship burned down. The "Queen" was outraged that he was burned without even looking inside: "But what about the treasure? !!", but Luffy was unshakable:

- Nobody will touch the heresy, for it will mean that heresy has touched you! Burn heresy!

More "Queen" did not object. Shaking her head and waving her hand, she went back to the loungers, on one of which she lay down. Koby quickly noticed that there was no argument with Luffy. At all. And after a few more days, the boy even understood why: a dead end! If something crossed Luffy's mind, everyone else could only accept it. And, frankly, the relationship in their team - or family, as they preferred to call their group - was strange. Very, very strange. From the word at all.

After the unilateral destruction of the Pirates of Alvida "Iron Mace", and most importantly, some moments of this very destruction, it became quite obvious to Koby that the "Queen" possessed the power of the Devil Fruit. The boy had never heard anyone talk about exactly where the fruit came from, but he knew that if you eat such a fruit, you can get some kind of mystical power. The power of the Devil, as people also said about such abilities. And over the past two years, Koby has heard hundreds of times the most incredible stories of pirates about devil fruit users, as they called people with the power of one of the Devil's Fruits, but more and more as ravings of half-drunk or completely drunk people. However, his acquaintance with the hunters was an excellent proof that the nonsense he heard was, in fact, the very truth. Ryu and the "Queen", both possessed the power of Devil Fruit. Koby had no idea what kind of powers they wielded, but the Ryu fruit seemed to have something to do with fire, but the Queen fruit ... with the Queen it didn't look so obvious anymore. She was simply not affected by the attacks. None. At all. No bullets, no swords, no fists, nothing. If she herself did not want it, then absolutely everything slipped off her. And that, in turn, brought Koby back to that "weird team relationship." Fruit is not fruit, but shoot a girl just because you are too lazy to scream or tear your ass off the chair, but you need to get her attention?

- But it's so much funnier! - Luffy replied, literally beaming with delight, as soon as Koby asked the appropriate question. After a few more days of meeting Luffy, the boy realized that there was no point in counting on any other answer.
