When two Gems love each other very much… wait it’s not that talk? Thank God!

After an entire week of sitting, training, and learning, it's time to check on my little sisters. I got up from the throne I had the pebbles made a week ago and heard the normal sounds of metal against metal as it sank into the ground.

Pearl, seeing me get up, knew it was time for the event and made her way across the wreckage of robots and parts that littered the room. Should really clean that up.

I then asked Pearl.

"Hey Pearl, can you have someone clean up the mess around the room while we are away?"

"Yes my Diamond."

She slightly bowed and then brought up a screen through a device on a black bracket with a repeating Diamond pattern on her wrist.

She got that a few days ago and it gives her privileges within the Homeworld system, a gift from White. To better serve me she said.

I brought up my cloaking and made my way to Pink's part of the Homeworld capital. While we're walking I might as well go over what I learned through their data, there was quite a bit of it, but with my Diamond mind and Gem body I was able to go over it quickly.

I remember how flustered Pearl was when I finished it, she also went through it to "be of more help to me". She went through it when she was idle through the week of my training. Turns out Gems have a hell of a good memory, notes are only made to sort through projects.

So she managed to get through thousands of terabytes of data pretty quickly, but not as much as me,*smug smile*.

Anyway I learned that warp pads have been created, but not the interplanetary versions, injector technology has been created but is still being improved upon to handle a variety of Gems, and the like.

However the most interesting thing I learned is from high class information on how Gems are made and designed.

So apparently I can't just give Gems abilities based on my whims. They are actually made similar to how game characters are made in dnd games, but more technical.

So all gems have a certain amount of crystal bandwidth and the abilities and skills they can use costs a certain amount of bandwidth that creates the formula. This creates the potential a Gem has and the way they would develop.

The properties of the gem itself also play a factor in how their abilities would develop while in incubation. Like a basic template.

So I can't create a Ruby with ice powers or even make them more effective than a cold gun.

A portion of crystal bandwidth would automatically be used in order to give Gems basic abilities like forming, language comprehension, gravity adaptation, and basic skills for gem survival and the rest would be up to the formula that the injectors follow.

The more complex the formula becomes the quantity or quality of a Gem's abilities would increase. This in turn increases the resources needed in order to make the Gem.

Once the resource requirement of a formula has been fulfilled the resulting Gem would then be formed. Now this is where planets and kindergartens come in.

The reason that Homeworld takes over planets rich in life is because the planets in turn would have more resources in better quality than dead or uninhabited planets.

This allows for a greater variety of Gems being able to be formed on the planet, making it more efficient.

If the formula's resource requirements have not been fulfilled in a certain amount of time, would result in the Gem being formed early making them a Low Quartz. This also lowers the cap on their upper potential and affects their abilities.

Amethyst being shorter and less physically gifted than other Quartz while still having the same abilities would be a normal or even light case of being underdeveloped. More extreme cases like Peridot who is significantly weaker than other Gems and can't even shapeshift is not uncommon in the Low Quartz category.

While she may have been able to learn how to control metal, the fact that it took so long and how much effort it took for her to learn an instinctive ability speaks for itself.

Then there are cases like Jasper that are even rarer than an underdeveloped Gem being able to move up in the empire.

Once a formula has been fulfilled it would normally form the Gem. But if the requirements have been exceeded, which is usually by chance, or the quality of the nutrients the formula absorbs is high, it would cause the Gem to mutate making them a High Quartz.

But the formula being non-sentient wouldn't be able to adapt to this change. Meaning the Gem itself wouldn't develop abilities beyond the design. It would instead use the extra resources to strengthen itself, making their quality of one being equal to two.

This would cause a Ruby's flame to burn hotter, a Sapphire being able to see the future better, or in Jasper's case strengthening her beyond the standard Quartz and in turn her development potential.

Now some may ask "Hey Black if this is the case why doesn't the Gem empire mass produce High Quartzes? I mean even if they do use more resources, in relation to a planet they could still make a lot right?" To that I say… go F yourself.

This is the real world! Of course they tried that, but every time they tried they would only increase the amount of crystal bandwidth and cause the formula to be overloaded. This caused the Gem to be destroyed and made the area near the forming attempt to be barren, nearly a whole canyon.

Any Gem made attempt to make a High Quartz ended in so many failures that Homeworld and by that I mean White gave up on it. Miss Perfection actually gave up on something, so you should take that as a sign and skip over this rabbit hole.

This whole time they couldn't figure out why, but I came up with a theory from personal experience and attributed it to one fact.

We aren't playing a game, we are playing life.

We are creating a being with consciousness and when the formula is creating the body, it is also giving the gem the ability to form the mind. This results in it rejecting outside interference until it is formed and only absorbing non-sentient nutrients. Where it comes from, it doesn't care so long as there is enough to form.

This is probably why no Gem has ever or will ever absorb a planetary will aside from me. The first reason being that I was in an active state while forming when I absorbed the weakened and passive planetary will. The second being my diamond was strong enough to hold it.

As for fusion I put that idea on the shelf until after I formed my first Gem. That's right, my own Gem! I already created the formula and with the help of Gem science that evolved and absorbed information from across the universe and the Fallen's Rick technology, it was easy as I am sexy.

Fufufufufu.

Now I just need for the prototype injector to be finished in a few days and then I can start working.

Having satisfied my ego I finally stopped in front of Pink's door. I was about to knock on her door when I realized one key fact. I don't know shit about social interaction.

All I remember about my past life was how my personality developed and knowledge on media, educational learning, and other forms of daily knowledge. I can't remember faces or what they meant to me and the information from the Fallen's race about social interaction is mostly from a neutral psychological view.

Speaking of the Fallen, I can't even live the life of a normal, average person because my will would just passively obliterate it. The bare minimum soul strength required for me to experience their life would have only been strengthened by trauma and pain.

Don't get me started on the stronger souls, so unless I want PTSD I gotta dive in blind. Shouldn't be that hard right?

…. I just had to jinx it!!!

With that I opened Pink's door and a large amount of pink flower petals fell on top of my head and… made it past my cloaking?!? Oh right it wasn't made to filter things out.

I then looked at Pink and who was laughing on the floor and then blocked everything out as I thought in Diamond mind.

She is the one, the master I can follow in this unknown path! What could go wrong?

...…

(WHY DO YOU KEEP RAISING FLAGS?!?!?!)

(*SOB*I DON'T KNOW!!!)
