The Fruits of Labor

Well, a lot has happened over the last three months. I think back while I sit in my chair in the command room.

The Fire nation has fallen and it makes sense since their main method of attack, fire and heat, which usually has the most destructive power is made inert by Gem physiology. The Water nation is coming in close second as we move further inland.

The Air nation was actually quite strategic in their defenses and have proven to be a pain in the ass, luckily the commanders were able to handle it without the need for intervention. The Earth nation, like expected, was giving us the most grief through their fortresses and structures. They are reinforcing them with their powers and is slowly closing the technology advantage we have..pfft...as if.

It's going to take more than the power of friendship, bonds, and Talk-no jutsu to fight against us. The Earth nation's defense while impressive for the time period will crumble to dirt at one point. Afterall, I have plenty of evidence to back this claim up.

This race would have been a much bigger threat once their science has developed further, their own personal experience with the building blocks of the world would have given them plenty of knowledge.

The Kindergartens, warp pads, and other Gem structures are being set up all over the world with the exception of the central continent. This is where the remnant forces and governments of the Fire nation have retreated to and are currently working with the other nations to fight the coming crisis.

I mentioned Talk-no jutsu right? Well, a few individuals have managed to take the "spotlight" during this time and have managed to organize the system. Usually people would be in panic or disarray in such a situation or at least the common populace would. These individuals have managed to increase the efficiency of the armies and are making preparations for a counter attack.

They know the Fire nation's continent has gone to shit at the moment, so they are focusing on the evacuations of citizens of the Water nation and survivors from other attacks, of which there is none. Probably could have finished this sooner, but I wanted to finish the gem protection armor, I had to figure out how to not make it interfere with drawing out a Gem's weapon.

The attacks on the Earth nation were more passive and the natives began to take notice and this resulted in some head on battles. Thankfully, they haven't figured out the whole gem bending so we are safe for the most part.

With that being said, I finished the design and sent the orders to begin the mass production of the armor. For now I'll just sit here and wait for the results to come in.

ONYX FACET-7KL CUT-4BG P.O.V

??? time later

The war effort has been going well… and messy. I'm never going to forget the feeling of Lab giving me a hug covered in guts. She ran right up to me and gave me a gore hug, everyone else was laughing over it. *Cue sadistic smile*

But it became really funny once they joined in and I threw them all in the gore pile and started to…

"7?"

Lab brought me out of my reminiscence and I remember where I am.

My team and I are currently sitting on the ledge of the water nation capital castle as we overlooked the one grand and beautiful city being demolished and destroyed to make room for weapon factories. All of us are eating a variety of blue colored fruits with spiral patterns on them, 6 wanted to try eating so now we are trying this world's fruit and this has led to one conclusion.

Eating is fun!

The fruit is refreshing and cold, most Gems have a problem with how food feels in their mouths but it feels better than gore. I should try meat at some point, I wonder why organics don't eat all the time?

"What is it Lab?"

"You had a.. scary smile on your face." She had a terrified expression on her face as she remembered the scene of Onyx's sadistic smile as she bit into a fruit.

"I was just remembering your little 'gore hug' as you called it." Everyone visibly paused and shuttered as they remember the "playful" fight 7 had after Lab's initial hug which spiraled into a senstationaly traumatizing incident.

"W..w..why is that?" 6 posed the question this time.

"No reason in particular."

Silence would've permeated the air if not for the falling buildings and the sound of explosions destroying the last traces of the Water nation. Beryl then decided to break the silence.

"So I heard we will be assigned to the Air nation continent in a few days, wanna have some fun till then?"

"Like what?" Schorl asked.

"We could use a warp pad to go to a Fire Nation base to relax for a few days. I heard Pink Diamond created a recreational centre and Black Diamond is currently circulating it on world."

"I'm in."

"Same."

"Sure."

"Then it's settled."

With that out of the way we just sat in silence and ate fruit as we watched the world burn and crumble.

"It's funny isn't it?" Schorl suddenly spoke out, his pink hair swaying slightly as a breeze blew by.

"These people were just existing and thriving not too long ago and now their own Kindergarten is being destroyed."

"Organics don't have our kinds of Kindergartens Schorl." Lab corrected him.

"Right.. well you know what I mean. They were so big, but yet they came down so quickly in proportion to their history." I decided to intervene here.

"That is the law of the universe Schorl, I understand that you feel sympathy for them because of how weak and pathetic they are, but you have to understand that is just how nature works. Look at these people and race as a whole, their abilities would make them a powerhouse in the universe. Do you think they would only be a force for good?"

Lab continued as she kept munching on her fruit like a rodent. (She means like a Chipmunk)

"She has a point Schorl *munch* the term 'good' can only exist and be defined in the presence called 'evil'. The hero of a race could be interpreted as an *munch* executioner by another, such as other worlds or universal powers champions. *munch * They bring hope to the being they represent by bringing despair to everyone else. To be a symbol of hope *munch* for society also means to be a symbol of despair for those it defines as criminals, enemies, or outliers." Lab then finished eating the fruit and with the juices still dripping down her chin proceeded to take another one before eating like a rodent once more. (Again, she means like a Chipmunk) So I picked up the conversation again.

"Her point being, this race would have fallen into corruption and filth like all organic beings would have. You may not have noticed, but a large number of soldiers had eyes of lust when we approached and if we are capable of such activities our fate would be undesirable. You only see the best of this race and the weakness we exploited, but know that our purpose is the true meaning of the word 'good'."

"How so?" Schorl questions me, his face unreadable as he continues to look into the now setting sun.

"The Gem empire is above such things. We care not for wealth as we have no need for luxuries, we have no corruption for the purity of the Diamond authority is absolute, we stand united under a common cause that every single Gem will devote itself to. Our o so glorious Diamond has bestowed this world a gift and given another glimmer of 'our' hope to the universe."

Schorl just smiles and produces a small chuckle.

"Yeah, yeah, you and Lab made your point. You made sure to destroy any hesitation I had." He waved his hand

Lab then spoke "You *munch* are a kind Gem Schorl *munch* don't be too hard on yourself."

Schorl looks to Lab and smiled "Thanks, I appreciate you guys hearing me out."

"Good." I responded. "Distractions could prove to be fatal on the field and I would have had to report you as a liability."

Everyone just starts laughing, oh, they think I'm joking aren't they…

Let them think that.

Lab then patted Schorl's head before she began.

"There, there, our Diamond will save this world and transform it anew like we've seen previously. If you have any doubts then talk to us, for we are a unit and we will not fall under pressure." She then jumped up and hugged Schorl by the neck before she continued in a soft whisper.

"Or talk to me and communicate gem to gem."

Schorl then calmly and quietly picked Schorl off his shoulders and held her in front of him by the armpits as she dangled in open space.

"Whoa, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait..." Lab started as she began waving her arms with a flustered face and made an adorable face to prevent Schorl from dropping her. Schorl meanwhile ignored her and asked the group in a happy voice.

"Hey buddies, you wanna exercise a bit to speed up the food dissipating in our stomachs. I figured we could since we're all done." This statement brought confusion to everyone in the group before we looked at the basket and discovered all the fruits were gone and in doing so realized the basket had moved to where Lab was previously sitting.

She… ate…. them... all…

"Yes, for team building!" I clapped my hands together and smiled enthusiastically.

"We can play high speed catch!" 6 said as she had a smile-not-a-smile on her face as she began stretching.

"Yeah! We could use something to forget about that fight we had with those fancy dressed natives, that glassy eyed one was really annoying." Beryl said as he ripped off a section of concrete from the platform and stepped on it, not like it'll matter since this building is going to be destroyed tomorrow.

"It's settled." I spoke as I and 6 got into a running position while Schorl wrapped Lab in darkness and muffled her screams as he was getting ready to launch her. "Too bad one of them escaped, but we'll get her next time."

With that cheery note Lab was shot up into the air with her mouth gagged in darkness, we don't want to cause a ruckus after all, and we all raced towards her as Schorl used tendrils of darkness to zip to her.

He really thinks I didn't notice that slight blush on his face after what Lab said.

Anyways, this is going to be so much fun and I can't wait to get the new armor made by my Diamond in a few days!
