Within the VIP room. After ten minutes of waiting for them to return, Mr. Yokota kept raising his head from his book and glancing at the door as his expression became increasingly strange. Just as Mr. Yokota was getting worried and thinking about going and checking on them, he heard the door handle turn and looked up.
Entering the VIP room, Arthur was greeted with the sight of Mr. Yokota looking at him with an odd expression. Not knowing what was wrong, he stepped forward and sat on the couch facing him and asked. "Did something happen?"
Now that they returned, Mr. Yokota sat back lightly and shook his head with a slight smile. "No." But just as he answered, he saw Shizu Furusawa move and sit down next to Arthur rather than himself. A trace of haze flashed through his eyes, but soon returned to normal. He secretly shook his head on the inside as he mocked himself. [What are you thinking about? Why would Shizu Furusawa fall for such an ugly man? Obviously she just offered to show him the way out of kindness.]
The room fell into a brief silence as everyone did their own things quietly. Mr. Yokota was reading his book. Shizu Furusawa left and returned with some documents that she needed to read through and sign. Arthur was doing research on the laws and regulation in Japan on his phone.
While Arthur was busy looking into the laws and regulations about establishing a company in Japan, a pop-up appeared on the screen telling him he received a new text message. He didn't have to guess to know who it was from. There are only two people in this world that know his number and it is definitely not from the dull clerk that sold it to him. He opened the text message chat and saw that it was from Suguha, like he expected.
Suguha: [Hey, Arthur. Its Suguha :P.] 1:15 PM.
Suguha: [I was wondering if you were free this Saturday? Me and my family want to thank you for saving me yesterday.] 1:16 PM.
After reading the messages, Arthur couldn't help but smile softly, thinking about the beautiful, lively girl he hadn't seen in over a year. With all that in mind, Arthur shook his head and typed a reply, then pressed enter.
Arthur: [Saturday sounds good to me. Just tell me when and where.] 1:17 PM.
Not long after he sent the message, another message popped up on the screen. Arthur read the message and felt his stomach ache slightly with hunger.
Suguha: [Great! My house at 7 PM. See you then!] 1:17 PM.
Suguha: [Oh, Right! Make sure you don't eat dinner before you come!] 1:17 PM.
Arthur leaned back into the couch with a funny expression on his face. Although he understood the reason, he still played the game with Suguha and acted confused.
Arthur: [Why?] 1:18 PM.
Suguha: [It's a surprise! :P.] 1:18 PM.
Arthur: [Alright…] 1:18 PM.
While Arthur was texting back and forth with Suguha, Shizu Furusawa, who was sitting next to him, glanced over and noticed that he was texting and had a confused look in her eyes as she asked. "How do you have service?"
Arthur glanced at the confused Shizu Furusawa with confusion in his eyes and asked. "What do you mean?"
Mr. Yokota raised his head from his book and had a strange glow in his eyes as he explained. "Normally when people buy service in Japan, they're required to show identification documents stating their home address."
"Really?" Arthur glanced at the phone in his hand with a strange expression and explained. "I bought this phone and sim card yesterday at a connivance store a couple blocks from here. They never asked me for any identification documents."
Shizu Furusawa seemed to understand something as her eyes glowed and asked. "Did you buy it late at night and only you were alone inside the store?" Hearing the questions that Shizu Furusawa asked, Mr. Yokota seemed to think of something and he had a relaxed look on his face.
Arthur nodded his head with a confused look on his face. What's wrong with buying a phone late at night? Unless… A thought crossed Arthur's mind that made him depressed but was even more depressed when Shizu Furusawa confirmed his thought the next second.
Shizu Furusawa smirked and looked at Arthur with a playful look. "You accidentally bought a stolen sim card from someone?"
Although slightly depressed, Arthur quickly returned to normal and shook his head with a calm smile. "That's fine. Ill just get a new one after selling the gold coins."
Ten minutes later. The phone sitting in front of Mr. Yokota, which has been silent for the last twenty minutes, finally received a message. Everyone in the room fell into a brief silence as Mr. Yokota picked up his phone and unlocked it using his fingerprint, then read the message.
While Mr. Yokota was reading the message on his phone, Arthur was secretly keeping his eyes on his expression. As soon as he sees a hint of unnaturalness, he is prepared to run. Although he isn't afraid of his betrayal, he really didn't find it necessary to show his life saving cards if it was avoidable. Especially when he can just find another way to get money.
After reading the message, Mr. Yokota's face didn't change. He raised his head and glanced at Arthur with a relaxed look. "He is asking for your date of birth."
After thinking about the date and doing some swift mental-math, Arthur responded with a calm smile. "2004,07,17."
Shizu Furusawa had an unexpected expression on her face as she looked at Arthur with surprise in her charming eyes. "My birthday is a week before yours on the 10th of July."
After sending the message, Mr. Yokota placed his phone back on the table and everyone returned to their own devices. The room fell silent once again.
An hour later, just when Arthur was getting a little hungry for lunch, Mr. Yokota's phone went off once again. Everyone focused their attention on Mr. Yokota as he picked up the phone and read the message. After reading it, Mr. Yokota raised his head and motioned towards the clerk near the door. "Immediately run to the park six blocks south from here and pick up the black briefcase leaning against the tree near the men's restroom." The clerk looked a little depressed as he nodded his head and rushed out of the VIP room.
Arthur put his phone back into his pocket and sat forward on the couch with an eager look in his eyes as he waits for the clerk to return. Once he gets his own legal identity, he can finally not have to worry about the government bothering him and slowly begin forming his own force.
Twenty minutes later. The clerk returned carrying a soft over the shoulder black briefcase with sweat dripping down his face like he just fled for his life as he panted for air.
Mr. Yokota stood up and received the black briefcase with a smile and patted the clerk on the shoulder. "You have worked hard. Take the afternoon off."
"Thank you, Mr. Yokota." The clerk smiled weakly from exhaustion and left the VIP room to head home.
Once the clerk left, Mr. Yokota handed the black briefcase to Arthur with a relaxed look on his face. "Everything should be inside."
Arthur accepted the black briefcase with a smile and unzipped the bag. Within the bag, there was a pile of documents with a passport on the top. Taking the passport out, Arthur opened it to reveal a picture of him they just took an hour ago. Looking through the information, Arthur nodded and closed the passport, then put it back in the bag and zipped it back up.
"Alright. That should be all for today, right?" Arthur stood up and put the black briefcase on his shoulder. He looked at Shizu Furusawa and asked with a smile. "Can I borrow a pen and paper?"
"Okay." Shizu Furusawa nodded and handed Arthur her pen and piece of scratch paper. "Here you go."
Arthur wrote a string of numbers on the paper and handed it to Mr. Yokota. "Here is my cellphone number. Text me when you find the buyers." He glanced at the gold coins in the small red chest on the table, then continued. "You can keep those gold coins as insurance until we find a buyer."
"Alright. Ill try my best to find buyers as soon as possible." Mr. Yokota nodded with a calm smile and accepted the paper. "I hope you have a safe journey, Mr. Hyoudou."
Shizu Furusawa gave Arthur a charming glanced and smiled. "Have a safe journey."
"Thank you." Arthur bowed politely and walked out of the VIP room with calm steps.
