Demonic Duo

*Screeeech*

'You have got to be kidding me…' In front of Alan was a shadow demon. However, it wasn't the one below him who continued to struggle climbing up.

It was a new shadow demon that made its appearance, this one though, had a figure of a giant bird enshrouded in absolute darkness.

Its white pupils glared at Alan, who was sitting down moments ago.

'Just my luck..' Alan cursed inwardly as he used soul bind and straight after soul transfer.

The birds movements were restricted and a blue beam shot at its chest, making it give a howling screech.

"KAHHHHH"

[Soul transfer is useless against shadow demon]

Through using his two skills constantly, Alan gained some proficiency in them and the skills themselves had gotten stronger.

Soul transfer did not experience much change in growth and Alan guessed its level had already grown quite high through Beth.

Soul Bind though did grow a lot more, it was able to stun the shadow demons for an extra second or two and Alan felt more comfortable using the skill.

Thanks to that, he was able to use one skill straight after the other with the drawback that soul bind's effect decreased greatly.

'Trying this combo really takes too much out of me…' Alan thought as he jumped off the roof.

He landed face flat on the ground.

But, Alan did not have time to waste and quickly got up "ow! That hurt too much!!!'

Alan quickly walked away from the pissed off shadow demon bird and the other demon seemed to have noticed that Alan was no longer on the roof, so it jumped towards Alan

The bird demon was incredibly fast as it swooped down, picking up Alan with its talons and flying upwards.

The beast demon didn't seem to like that as it screeched towards the bird demon and started to climb a building at a fast pace with its sharp claws.

Alan, who was flailing his arms trying to get free, was shocked at the beast demon's speed 'He was playing with me…' just from that, Alan knew the beast demon could have ripped him to shreds from their first encounter.

In a few seconds, the beast demon was at a buildings room and gave one more screech before releasing its long tongue, shrouded in darkness, wrapping around Alan's leg.

Alan felt an indescribable wet sensation around his leg, making him very uncomfortable 'This is disgusting!'

Thanks to its quick thinking, the beast demon flew up with Alan and the bird.

Alan felt depressed, from above there was a bird demon clutching his shoulders and from below there was a beast demon wrapping his leg tightly.

'What kind of sick play is this!!!?' Alan cursed at his unfortunate luck.

The only bright side about the situation was that neither demons made their killing move on Alan.

'The shadow demons seem to be territorial…or at least aren't friendly with each other.' Alan noticed the bird demon glaring at the beast demon as it did the same.

Both demons were screeching at each other from time to time, making Alan think they were communicating in some way 'Please continue to debate for an hour.' Alan prayed.

*Crack*

Though the two demons were arguing, not surrendering to each other, Alan's body was not in a good state.

He didn't know why but the two demons were tightening their hold on him. The bird demon was constricting its sharp talons, making his shoulder bones crack from the pressure while the beast demon released another tongue from its mouth to hold onto Alan's other leg.

But, just like the bird demon, the two tongues were wrapping around him tighter as time passed, making Alan feel his legs cracking.

'Urgh!' He felt a lot of pain from the two sides opossing forces but it also helped him deal with the pain better because his mind was split between two forces of pain, acting like a distraction from one another.

'System…I need help…'

[User is not in critically condition, System is unable to request help from upper management]

*Crack*

'Urgh! I'm not asking for Death, I'm asking you to give me advice or else my life will go into critical condition!'

[Loading request…]

'Finally something different…'

*Crack*

"Urgh!! Can you two loosen your grip! You're killing me here!" Alan couldn't hold it in anymore and released his frustration for the two demons.

"KAHHHHH!"

"GGRAHHHHHSSH!"

Clearly the two demons were not amused and held Alan tighter.

'That's it!' Alan grabbed the bird's talon with one hand and aimed at the beast with the other.

'Soul transfer!'

[Soul Transfer Activated]

"KAHHH!"

"GGRAHHSHH!"

The two demons screamed in pain with the bird demon letting go of one of Alan's shoulders while the beast demon let go of one of his legs.

Alan did not stop and used his skill again, causing the bird and beast to completely let go off him.

"Ahhhh" Alan was falling back down with no support from the bird.

The beast was also falling below Alan as it tried to attack him with his tongue.

While flailing down, Alan moved his body around the air to dodge the beast demon's attack.

[System will teleport user back to original location once skill is charged]

Alan finally received an answer from the system which brought him some joy.

The bird was pissed as it swooped down but this time it aimed to kill Alan in one move to which he used soul bind.

[Soul bind activated]

The demon was held in motion but in that time the beast demon slammed its tongue on Alan's back.

*Crack*

Alan's mouth widened from the shock of his back cracking 'That was just one hit…'

Alan passed out from shock.

The beast demon continued its assault at Alan's body, tearing off his arms while the bird demon destroyed his legs.

[Users life is in critical condition]

The system prompt sounded in Alan's head but he could do nothing about it.

[Congratulations! You have completed your first day as a Reaper!]

[System forcefully activating Basic country teleportation]
