Chapter 1

Stacey couldn't believe what the doctor had just said to her.

"Congratulations Miss you are 3 months pregnant"

The words kept playing in her head like some broken record off the 80's.

Why is this happening to me? How comes I never noticed ? All this time i  have been pregnant...why now?

She kept asking herself, regret killing her slowly. This is not what she wanted..NO....not now at least.

Everything started coming back to her mind clearly as if it had happened yesterday.

She recalled how for the past three years she had been inlove with Justin Kriss.

The man of every girl's dream, well she was the woman of every man's dream as well but she had only loved one man all her life Justin.

They did love each other dearly.Everyone was always envious of what they had back at campus.

She thought they would spend the rest of their life together,that is after Justin suggested they get married to make her legally his.

She was extremely excited and they arranged a civil marriage,  through the artoney general .A simple civil marriage,it was not a big wedding that she had always dreamt for her own future,but it was still worth it.

She now legally belonged to him,she recalled how justin had still promised her of a grand wedding once they finish their studies , but things didnt work as they had planned.

Tears were now flowing freely at her eyes as she sat on her bed ,  as she recalled the betrayal she would never be able to put behind,  the heartbreak of her life time.

"You cant do this Justin don't you love me anymore?" she said in a pleading.

"No stacey I do love you.... but I have to do this , my dad wont take it lightly if I disobey him and you know this , Stacey please" he was holding her hands rubbing them ever so softly as if afraid he would accidentally break them.

"Then lets elope besides we are already married, we can always find something to do " Her eyes glazed with unshed tears.

"No stacey my dad will look for me and he will find us, you know how powerfull he is we can't take this risk my love"

"Please do it for our love Justin i can't lose you to another woman please"

Tears fell freely from her eyeballs like an overflowing sink.She was hurt,  really hurt, all her life no one had loved her genuinly,her dad had passed away when she was young leaving her to her mother who had always made life difficult for her.

A woman who didn't even bother paying for her fees, she was lucky she had gotten a scholarship,for her mother had completely neglected her and now the man she loved,her husband was going to leave her because of a bussines deal his dad wanted.

Could this get any worse?

"We can still meet, and continue  this behind their backs,you will still remain to be my first wife.

She will take second place and besides,no one can never take your place in my heart Stacey you will forever be the woman I love"

"But you want me to act as your mistress!!??!"

"Thats now my worth Justin? You say you love me but you can't fight for us?"

" How ? Tell me how???" She yelled throwing her arms up in frustration.

How could he say that!!!Was his love even genuine?!

"Stacey I can't dissappoint my dad he needs this and if I don't do as he asks I will lose everything I have dreamnt of...I have worked for....I have studied for i just can't please my love understand me"

Justin was really torn between pleasing his father and his happiness.

Of course he could choose onebut he'd lose the other, and both were important to his life.

"No i can't... its quite clear where you stand,choose,me or your family wealth?" She was serious her tears had stopped,giving justin a stern look,  who was silent confused what to say to the woman he loved so dearly.

A woman who meant the world to him,a woman who brought out the best in him.

They were like peanut butter and jelly...although it can be a bad combo to some..but you get my gyst?

He loved her so much,  he loved her so much than he loved his life , but could he go against his dad plans.

He knew his dad well he will never accept a no , he would destroy him and his love as well.

No he couldnt let that happen he loved Stacey,but he just couldn't let her be harmed.

"I see.....its clear you choose money over me.Goodbye Justin am done!!"she took her handbag and walked out of the room bitterness filing her heart,hatred for loving him.

Justin tried to beg her to but she couldn't , watching her in pain was devastating ,he couldnt stand it.

He hadn't told her that he was to leave the country as soon as he got married to Sandra .He broke down in tears not being able to do anything about the situation he cried like a baby but there was no one to comfort him , he was alone.

The thoughts kept running through her mind. She recalled when she heard the news of Justin's departure, he never told her he was leaving but how was he to tell her when she had blocked all his contacts.

She heard the news from his sister Elena, it was very heartbreaking.

She was hurt she could no longer difrentiate between who genuinly loved her or who pretended besides everyone will always leave in the end,  yes they always do she reminded herself.

That brought her back to when she realised she was an orphan all along.That fatefull day when she questioned the woman who she believed was her mother as to why she was always cold to her.

"It's because am not your birth mother ?I have hated you ever since your father brought you home , i had to pretend i loved you for all these years but i no longer have to, I don't want to find you in this house by the time i am back!!"

"No this cant be true ,then who is my mother tell me!" She said crying in disbelief.

"In the graves she died while giving birth to you,you are bad luck,a fucking curse!!" The woman who she believed was her mother yelled glaring at her as if she was dirt.

Now everything made sense the reasons as to why she never loved her,  her mistreatment towards her and now this chasing her from her house, no mother would ever do that to her own daughter, she didn't have a place to go,She was lucky, Justin had bought her an apartment as her birthday gift when she turned 18 , it was a three bedroomed apartment located at karen, that was the only place she could go, it had everything except food .

She needed a job she had studied business management but getting a job was very difficult.

She had no option but to call Elena to help her secure a job for at one of her father's companies.

Lucky for her Elena got her a vacant position with good payment,she was to be under Johnson who knew she was a  family friend to the Kriss's.

She disliked the fact of working under the family company she was still bitter about everything that happened and now she just found out she is 3 months pregnant. She felt the need  to tell justin that he was going to be a father in 6 months time , but she remembered he is married and  left her ,  but he need to know her conscious kept nagging her.

She picked the phone and dialed the number of Justin ready to tell him,  she waited and waited no one picked .

"What a fool am I to think he would ever pick my calls when he left me for money." She said to herself "or maybe I should terminate this baby , , am i ready to be a single mother i just got my job 2 months ago , what if i lose my job.

"No i don't have the courage i will keep you my baby" she thought to herself holding her belly which she hadn't notice all this time had formed a small round bump.

"Soon am going to have a big bump and i won't be able to hide it... what will i tell Elena?I will have to avoid her no one should know am carrying Justin's baby"she sighed
