An Innocent Mother

Izuku Midoriya lived in a society where 80% percent of the population possessed abilities or peculiarities known as Quirks. Essentially, it is a society in which powers abound, and a career was created for those who want to use their Quirks for good.

When Izuku was checked at the hospital, they told him it was because he was completely "normal" and he had a joint that people with Quirks don't have. In short, he was going to shit, and he didn't have any superpowers to help people.

He wanted to be a hero because he admired All Might since he was a child, the number one hero who always saved people with a dazzling smile on his face. Simply but, that was and still is the coolest thing in the world, and what kid wouldn't want to be a hero with such a role model?

So when he found out he couldn't have a Quirk, he was devastated; he couldn't fulfill his dream no matter how hard he tried, but he didn't give up and studied as much as he could with the goal of getting into UA, which is the best hero school in the world; after all, if he gets in there, it means he can be a hero, right?

Today he returned to school as usual, another day of bullying and insults from his classmates, all because he don't have any Quirk. Katsuki Bakugo, his former best friend, became self-centered and abusive to him because he had a very strong Quirk. Katsuki called him the nickname Deku as if to say he was a useless. He eventually learned to deal with the insults, and it's all thanks to the fact that there is still one person who believes in Izuku's ability to become a hero... his mother. Inko Midoriya.

Although it was difficult for her to accept that he would not give up on his dream of becoming a hero, she eventually came around and began to support him in any way she could. Since his father died on a business trip ten years ago, she is his only living relative. Izuku is 14 years old and, as previously stated, he is returning home from school.

(Izuku Midoriya' PoV):

I walk up to my front door and enter as usual, saying out loud, "I'm home, Mom," as I leave my shoes at the door. Then I go further into the living room and realize my mom hasn't arrived; her shoes aren't in the entrance either, so I'm sure she hasn't returned from shopping yet.

I don't give it much thought, so I go change into more comfortable clothes. After about 10 minutes, I'm in the living room wearing looser clothing such as shorts and a sleeveless shirt, both in different shades of black, and I'm about to sit on the couch to watch TV when it happens.

*DING DONG!*

It was my house's doorbell, and it was probably my mother returning from shopping, but I don't understand why there wouldn't be with her key. I approach the door and peer through the peephole; what I see on the other side is a police officer with a slightly sad expression; 'I wonder what the officer must want' I thought and I slowly open the door.

"Good afternoon," "Are you Izuku Midoriya?" the officer asks, his face concerned.

"I-it's me, what's up?" I inquire, as officers had never before come to my door because my neighborhood was so quiet.

He swallowed and cleared his throat. "I'm sorry to have to tell you this boy... but your mother Inko Midoriya," he said quietly. "She died 6 hours ago during an attack by some villains," the police officer said, putting his hand on my right shoulder with sadness and have a condolence look.

My eyes were wide open. "Wh-what?" I asked, taking a step back with a stiff smile. "You must be joking with me, right, s-surely Kacchan told you to scare me like that, it's really not funny," I replied with a slight smile, surely it was a bad joke that Kacchan devised to give me a heart attack or something, what the policeman was telling me was simply impossible, what a fool I was for taking him seriously for a moment.

However, the officer's face hardened with pity. "I know it's difficult to accept, kid, but it's the truth: in the commercial district, a villain with metal powers attacked and caused a large sign to fall on a large crowd of innocent people... your mother was one of them," the officer explained to me as he removed his cap to present his condolences as if what he was saying was true.

"It's really not funny, Kacchan, stop with the damn joke right now!" I exclaimed loudly, causing the fool Kacchan to emerge from his hiding place to yell at me and tell me that I looked pathetic.

The joke is too bad; I'm sure kacchan paid the officer a lot of money to work with him, and telling lies is extremely wrong!

But the man's expression remained unchanged. "Please boy, calm down and understand that this is not a joke... your mother Inko Midoriya has died and that is the reality, I am truly sorry but you must accept it in order to move on, tomorrow I will come again to inform you about her life insurance and the funeral... be strong boy," the policeman said firmly, attempting to reassure me.

He's a big fucking liar; it's impossible that something like that would happen to my mother, completely impossible, even imagining the scene he described to me... I'm afraid not.

When I saw the officer get into his patrol car and drive away, I remained silent, waiting for someone, anyone, to tell me that it was the worst fucking joke that had ever been played on me. I have an idea and I close the door tightly to return to my living room.

I rush to my couch and grab my phone, quickly dialing my mother's number, "Please Please Please Please Please," I say nervously, hoping it's all just a stupid nightmare that I'll wake me up from any second.

*PIIII...PIIII...PIIII...PIIII*

I hear my phone dialing but no one answers, so it goes to voicemail, [H-Hello, it's working, isn't it Izuku? ...e-this is Inko Midoriya's voicemail, I'm busy right now, so leave a message after the tone], I listen to my mother's voicemail with fear and nerves, I remember when she asked me for help recording it because she didn't know how to handle technology.

I didn't give up and dial again... the result is the same, then without stopping I dial again... the result is the same, I feel tears start to flow out of my sockets and down through my cheeks while I still have a slight smile on my face waiting for my mother to answer and say everything is fine.

Then I dial again... no answer, my hand slowly begins to shake, and I dial again... no one answers.

I'm scared, very scared, I'll say it again, it's impossible that my mother died crushed like a cockroach by a big sign, the damn image just doesn't fit in my head, the only... the only person I had left was nothing more and nothing less than my blessed mother, who said goodbye to me this morning with a kiss and a kind smile.

As I look at my phone, I begin to shake violently and uncontrollably cry, and with all my faith, I redial my mother's phone.....

PIIII...PIIII...PIIII...PIIII

THERE'S IS NO ONE ANSWERING THE PHONE!

CRASH!

I slam my phone against a wall, and it snaps...true, it's isn't true right?, my mom...mom is dead, and I'll never see her again, this isn't a Kacchan joke or the worst of my nightmares, is it?

It's a fact that I must apparently accept: my mother died, and I will never be able to see her smile again.

WUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I sob uncontrollably on my couch, clenching my fists with rage, what was her fault for being a victim of a damned villain, he would surely continue living and breathing even if he was arrested, a right he doesn't have for doing that to my mother... THAT DISGRACIOUS MAN KILLED MY MOTHER.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I scream angrily and get up from the couch and give the couch a several hate-filled kicks, pretending he's the fucking bastard who murdered my innocent and wonderful mother. I continued attacking the furniture until I ran out of energy, depressed, I continued crying with rage thinking about how to find and punish the jerk, the officer didn't say he was arrested, but even if I wanted to kill him, I don't have the power to do so, but I don't care, I don't fucking care, I can't let it stay like this, I can't let it stay like this!
