A Beautiful Memories

After a minute of silence, Izuku stood up, wiped away the tears on his face, and walked over to where his phone had been shattered into pieces.

He sighed and reached out his hand towards the broken device, which began to slowly reassemble itself as the pieces floated and began to come together, Telekinesis or Time Control, the truth matters little right now, the phone was left as if it had never been broken after a minute of waiting.

The phone floated back into his grasp, and he turned it on, finding in his gallery an image of his mother, smiling and happy with him in her arms on the day she gave birth to him.

He felt his heart clench as he realized she was no longer in this world, but he couldn't help but smile softly as he saw her so happy.

"I love you Mom, I hope you're watching me when I save people, I'll prevent more victims of villains like you," Izuku said to his late mother before making the image his desktop wallpaper.

He put his phone away, leaving him alone in the house's sad silence, a place that now holds many memories for him of the great woman who had cared for and loved him his entire life.

He shook his head, trying not to show how upset he was. "I guess all that's left is to wait until I'm accepted into UA, but now I'll need to train a lot if I want to reach my goal," he said, looking at his right fist, pondering how many oddities he could manifest through it now that he has All For One.

He would no longer be the weak Midoriya who everyone mocked; instead, he would gain respect and, even if everyone was against him, he would become the number one hero.

If a villain bestowed this great Quirk upon him, he would transform it into a heroic Quirk used for good.

"I'll get to training tomorrow," he decided with a sideways grin, looking at a set of weights in the far corner of the room that he would be using frequently from now on.

As much as he disliked it, he would remember this day for the rest of his life because it was not only the day of his mother's death, but also the day he received the power to become a true hero, as he had wished since he was a child.

He spun around and made his way down the hallway, stopping in front of the door to his mother's room. He looked at it for a moment before reaching for the doorknob, stopping a few inches away but forcing himself to enter.

He didn't like it, but he knew she'd never use this room again. He walked over to the bed, bent down, and a box at the bottom moved toward him, where he placed it on the sheets.

He opened it and looked at the photo album his mother had, taking it in his hands with a sad grimace before taking a seat and gathering his courage, he has to face the fact that the one he loved the most has died as a result of a sinister bastard.

He took a deep breath and began to look through the photos in the album, beginning with the picture he has on his phone from the day he was born...she looked so happy.

The ones after that were of him as a baby, bathing him, taking him for walks, feeding him, cooing him in a motherly cuddle, at birthdays she had painstakingly planned, his first day at daycare, her leaving him in his crib, and so on.

Little tears formed at the edges of his green eyes, he tries his hardest to bear the pressure in his chest and the vertigo that plagues his senses, but it is difficult to accept that he would never see her again, and there are thousands of people feeling the same way for a loved one who was taken from them, it was simply heartbreaking for his soul.

He came to the pictures where she kept an eye on him and Kacchan when they went to play in the park, another where she dressed him in full-body All Might pajamas because he had asked her to, and another where she accompanied him on his first day of Elementary School.

He recalls her accompanying him to class, cheering him up with a song she always hummed to him, and then giving him his All Might doll so he could build up his courage.

Then there were more recent photos, such as one from two years ago, in which he was cooking with her and making her laugh, and another in which they were together but the photo was poorly taken by her, who didn't know how to use her new phone.

Izuku remembered and treasured all those Mother and Son moments with bittersweet nostalgia, knowing there would be no more to add to the album now that she was gone.

Moments later, he turned to the last page of the album, which featured a photograph of his mother with a gentle smile making the peace sign and him in the background studying at the dining room table.

This perplexed the green-haired boy because he had no idea when she took that picture; it was only after a few seconds that he remembered how he had been in a lapse of exams for a week, so he studied like crazy despite having one of the highest grades in his class.

He took the photo and held it up for a closer look, the last photo of Inko Midoriya alive... if only he had known this morning that he would never see her again, then she....

With difficulty, he kept his hand from squeezing the photo of his beloved mother; for no apparent reason, he turned it over, and his eyes widened as he saw a message in her handwriting on the back.

He sucked his saliva and began reading the letter:

"Me and my little hero, who saved me from loneliness and bestowed upon me the great honor of being his mother." My little Izuku works hard in school and aspires to be a great hero who saves people despite all the obstacles in his path; that's the kind of son I have and am proud of.....

you for being my son, Izuku."

A drop landed on the back of the photograph, followed by another... Izuku was taken aback when tears streamed from his eyes and down his freckled cheeks. He tried, he really tried, but the tears welled up nonstop with no sign of stopping, sobs could be heard in the room, and Izuku Midoriya was inevitably plunged into bitter, silent weeping from the surge of emotions that lashed his fragile heart after reading his mother's words.

"Try your hardest at school today, too, Izuku?"

She encouraged him with a big smile as she dismissed him at the front door and he had to leave for school; if he had known he wouldn't see her again, he would have said something instead of just nodding!

"Guh!" he exclaimed, clutching the photo in his hands as the tears streamed down his cheeks.

He has to make her proud; he will be a great hero who saves everyone who needs him, just as she did in her final moments; he will be as strong as she was so many years after her father's death; and he will live to fulfill her dream, just as she would have wanted him to because she had his support.

And so he would be, but today he is just a boy who has lost his mother and wishes to express his grief through his sad crying for her loss.

But he would keep her with him in his heart and in his memory so that she would never completely vanish; she would still be alive inside him and be the engine that encourages him when he is overwhelmed or confused; and even after death, Inko Midoriya, his mother, would still support him and that... is enough for him.
