Chapter 27: Irrational People

"This is the real basketball genius!"

"He basically played with the opposing team. So beautiful!"

"I wonder if he wants to have another girlfriend. I wish to marry him."

"I don't care if I only have one night with him."

"I wonder how much it would cost to sleep with him for one night."

"…"

Isabella was boiling with anger at these comments. If Max didn't hold her, it was possible she was going to fight them all.

*

After taking a shower at school, Max got dressed. Before PE, he had read for another two hours, or 360,000 words, and earned $7,200.

Walking out of the school, Isabella raises her brow and asks, "Max, why are you staring at me?"

"Uh, nothing, just thinking about how beautiful you are." Max laughed.

Her face flushed, Isabella lowered her head shyly.

To relax Max said seriously: "Did you see what happened?"

"Uh? What?" This piqued Isabella's curiosity.

"The water has been trapped," Max said.

With a disdainful expression, Isabella said, "Why did she quench her thirst?"

"Tsk, when you know the answer it's not funny," Max complained and Isabella laughed.

"Here's another one." Max said, "After analyzing the patient, the doctor says: Your cough seems to be better."

"Because he practiced all night?" Isabella rolled her eyes.

"..."

"You've been digging through my jokes on my computer, right?" Max asked suspiciously.

"I don't know what you're talking about~" Isabella won't admit it.

*

Arriving at the apartment, the delivery had not yet arrived.

"Max, what time are they coming?" Isabella asked.

"..."

Max's smartphone rang.

"Yes, I'm coming down there." Max hung up and said with a strange smile, "They just arrived."

"Oh..."

Isabella was surprised at first, then laughed.

They've already vacated the living room, so there's space to put things away.

When they got out, they told the doorman to allow the truck to enter.

Luckily it had an elevator, if I had to go up 3 floors by stairs...

Gradually, the deliverymen were carrying the furniture to the third floor and leaving it in the living room.

Almost 2 hours later, they finished.

Although it was an elevator, they were still sweating, after all, they had to carry it in their hands for a good way.

"Do either of you have QR?" Max asked.

"I've." What appeared to be their leader manifested.

Max transferred 3,000 dollars and said, "That's a tip for you all, good job."

"Thanks." Smiling, the man thanked him. The tiredness of the other workers looked like it was never there, they were smiling as they walked away.

They were at 3. Thousand to each, if they split right.

After climbing to the third floor, Max entered the house.

Isabella was unpacking the furniture. In no time did she stop smiling.

It was obvious she was happy.

"Happy?" Max smiled.

"Much. Thank you, my love." She hugged him and kissed him.

With Max's strength, it was easy to move the furniture. Even Isabella was stronger than normal people.

The old Isabella furniture has already started to be donated on the internet.

After everything was put in place, the cabinets were screwed in, the dishes and silverware put in place. Everything was beautiful.

Isabella's eyes sparkled with emotion until she let a tear fall that she hid from Max.

At night, almost 11 pm someone calls.

"Hello, are you Isabella donating a fridge?"

Isabella replied, "Yes, it's me."

"Oh, that feels good. It hasn't been donated yet, yes?"

"No, not yet." Isabella agreed.

"Can I go there get now?" The woman's voice didn't sound like someone grateful, but rather like she was going to get something she bought that already made Isabella a little weird.

"No, it's late. But I'll book it for you and you'll pick it up tomorrow." Isabella said.

"This doesn't work. I can only go now." The woman said, "So do it like this, can you bring me here tomorrow?"

"No?" Isabella said arching her brow.

"Wow, can't you even do that? I need this fridge, I already promised to give it to my daughter, seriously, bring me back tomorrow; my address is: XXXX. I will wait. Better bring it, I'll wait." After that, the woman hung up.

Isabella looked at her smartphone in amazement.

"Crazy!" Isabella put her smartphone in the bidet.

The smartphone rings again...

"Hello." Isabelle's voice sounded sleepy, after all, it was late.

"Hi, I'm Maria Helena, I saw your ad for donating some kitchen items have you already donated?" the woman asked.

"Not yet," Isabella replied.

"That's nice." The woman sighed in relief and said, "Can you deliver everything to me in the afternoon on XXXXX Street?"

"Yes, will you pay the shipping?" Isabella asked.

"Wait, wasn't it free? Why do I have to pay to ship for something that is free?" The woman's voice changed a little.

"It's like that, things are really free, but you have to get it, I can even call a freight to take it to you, but you'll have to pay the freight," Isabella said patiently.

"Are you crazy girl? Still, say it's free? I'm poor! Understand, poor! All the money I had I spent buying an iPhone 11, I can't pay to ship. You said it's free, so of course, you need to bring me for free!" The hysterical woman starts to scream.

Isabella frowned and hung up.

Walking through the house, she went to Max's room.

"Hey?" Max saw her with dark circles and a sleepy face and asked, "What happened?"

"It's like this..." She narrated sleepily what happened.

"Okay, leave the smartphone with me, I'll figure it out, go to sleep." Max kissed her forehead.

"I'll…" Staggering, Isabella headed towards her room.

"Finally answered." The woman who called earlier said, "Look girl, you need to..."

"Who is it?" Max's voice was cold and ominous.

"Me, me."

"Was it you bothering my wife?" Max's voice became more dangerous.

"..."

She hung up.

"Tsk, your courage was only high because you thought Isabella was easy prey? Ha, each one…" Max sighed.

Ten minutes later the phone rang.

"Hello?" Max answered.

"Hello, my name is Maria Claudia. I saw the ad for a giveaway cooking game, is it still available? By the way, I'm sorry for calling so late, it's just that I was afraid of missing this chance." An older voice sounded on the other end of the line.

"Oh, not yet," Max replied.

The lady on the other end of the line sighed in relief and said, "It's like this, the flood has washed away all my old furniture, and now I'm almost gone. And my granddaughter saw this ad and showed it to me. To be honest, I didn't expect it to be true, after all, there are a lot of people doing this for fun, yes? I think I got away from the subject a bit, hehe. Excuse me. Anyway, when I can go there to catch it?"

"I study in the morning. But you can come in the afternoon." Max replied.

"Oh, that's great." The voice sounded energetic lady, "I will look for a cheapie freight nearby and when I can I'll be right there look, okay?"

"Yes, my lady. I'll book it for you. By the way, my name is Max. And maybe my girlfriend will take care of it, her name is Isabella." Max explained.

"Okay my angel, thanks for everything so far, God bless you." After that, they hung up.

Max took out the ad and then went to sleep.

*

[]

Max woke up and like any other day, he made his daily need and went to the kitchen and ate breakfast prepared by Isabella.

"How was it, Max, did a lot of people bother you?" Isabella asked with a strange smile.

"No, although the same woman who called you called you again, after talking to me for less than a minute she hung up looking scared? Anyway, after an old lady got to pick things up in the late afternoon, she's going to pay the freight to pick things up. You see it's not difficult." Max smiled.

"My ass is not that difficult," Isabella complained.

"Serious? It is not?" Max's eyes lit up and he said, "We're not going to class today, I want your ass!"

" Fool, you understand me!" Isabella screamed, her face red.

"Hahaha." Max laughed out loud.

After they were silent Max said in his mind:

'System, log in.'

[]

'I need to make this a routine.' Max thought.

"Tomorrow is Saturday," Isabella said suddenly.

"Yes, I already booked the hotel and bought the tickets." Max understood perfectly what she meant by that.

"Well." With her legs dangling from under the table, she ate with satisfaction.

With his smartphone, Max texted Lisana: [Can I sleep at your house today?]

[I'll wait. My address is: XXXXX] The response was instantaneous. Looks like she was more anxious than he was.

*

In the classroom, Max looked up at the sky and sighed.

"What was Max, you look a little haggard today." the sociology professor asked worriedly.

"Teacher," Max said softly.

"Say it, Max." The sociology professor sighed wearily.

"Teacher, I want to go home and work, know that there are three companies behind me," Max said smugly.

"Oh, which ones?" If it's a good job, the teacher could let him go.

"Water, electricity, and telephone," Max said.

"Hahaha!"

Knowing it was another one of Max's pranks, the class couldn't stand it and started laughing.

"Max... We're in serious class now, no time for your jokes." The sociology professor wasn't upset, he just wanted Max to pay more attention in class.

"Sorry teacher, I won't do this again." Clearly, it was an almost impossible promise for him to keep.
