Ford got Him

Perhaps her sudden movements spooked the boy or something else she would never know because he turned and bolted in the opposite direction of her. Straight to the direction of real danger.

"No!--"a hushed shriek left her lips at the sight of the boy disappearing behind the corner. He will get him now.

She still ran in the direction of the boy hoping she could maybe still save him if she gets to him before he does.

However, she fell dead in her steps, frozen to a spot just a step away from the corner of the lobby. Her eyes rounded in realization that she was too late now.

Ford got him.

She felt as though her heart fell into the pit of her stomach when she heard his deep rumbling voice call out to the innocent little boy.

The voice itself was calm, deep but smooth, menacing but passive. But what lies behind the veil of that mellow sound was what left her trembling.

When she was alone, the situation didn't seem as dreadful as now, because now she had another factor to worry about. She had the prospect of probable harm towards the boy that worries her.

But she guessed she no longer has to worry about that anymore. Now the boy is as good as gone.

And there's nothing she could do about it just like she was helpless when that man was asking for it in his last moments. Same as before all she could do now is ensure the proof of his evil sins sees the light of day

And for that to happen, unfortunately she has to leave the boy behind now.

She turned around and as soundlessly as she possibly could, started trying all the doors present in this lobby until one knob clicked and turned all the way as she tried the fourth door to her right.

The door creaked open and she hurriedly stepped in to get started on finding the fire exit stairs at the back.

Luck was finally paying her some heed and she soon saw the grey painted metal case of stairs through the balcony in the main room she just stepped in.

Getting close to the window she was preparing to climb out just when she heard his voice again.

"Hey! You little shit get over here-"

The voice boomed through the building bouncing off the empty walls and echoing to her ears.

For a second she thought he saw her trying to get away and she slowly turned around to see nobody was in the room and the front door was as she left it, closed.

A sigh left her before it hit her. He's talking to the boy.
