Chapter 18: A silent, intense outburst

When she had gone Robert stepped out from the shadows. He had returned for his car. Starting forward impulsively he had stopped, everything about her screaming she thought herself unobserved. The outburst, silent and intense, was added to the growing store of disquiet. He drove home thinking about it. Had something happened in Sydney? If she was as good as they said she was - and he had to admit she was thorough - he swore silently. Nothing made sense, not without knowing a hell of a lot more.
